Except over at the Fiji Times, which doesn’t mention it at all and is more interested in the man who was about to be charged by FICAC and was spared by Barbara Malimali wanting the rest of us to be as rich as he is.

That body language. Oh dear.
Below is the petition for Barbara Malimali’s removal referred to above. It is being spearheaded by Alexandra Forwood, the energetic Sydney-based adopted daughter of the renowned former Suva restaurateur, Peter Bott.
For many years, Peter Bott’s restaurant, Scott’s – in the building that now houses the Yue Lai – was the capital’s best restaurant, favoured by movers and shakers from Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara down. Peter and his team also staged a state banquet for H.M Queen Elizabeth II at the GPH in 1977.
He has bred a whirlwind in Alex Forwood, that’s for sure. An initiative that deserves support from anyone who believes in proper governance.

We hope the PM takes action and not all talk as we see this govt being great at.
Their body language displays one of self esteem and pride in filling their own pockets and escaping prison
And how can we trust this inquiry to be independent and transparent.
Sad Observer:
1/ Because SLR government is transparent
1a/ Everything they do is constitutional
1b/ Because the inquiry be led by CJ Santa Clause
1c/ The fiercely independent press and non- partition NGOs will ensure it is not just transparent but just and fair to all.
This ambitious plan somehow reminds me of Mr Laisenia Qarase’s similar plan (but he didn’t refer to it as how Biman is calling it now) and then a few months later his government was overthrown.
The way these people put together such plans seems like they think they will be in government for eternity. The next government will surely throw it away.
Are we ready to see history repeat itself?
Typical reaction from this Government and the PM in particular. Rather than deal with it.
Avoid the issue of a partisan appointment by holding an inquiry, which will take time to set up, inquire and report. Whilst that is occurring nothing happens, FICAC becomes paralyzed and referrals, investigations and charges don’t happen!
Another example of interference in a supposed independent institution!
Will such an inquiry have an independent team, No! Not under this Government. They will appoint cronies and those seeking patronage.
And in Fiji’s unicorn world…
The commission is rumoured to be made up of people who are currently being actively investigated by FICAC. The government, being the paragon of transparency and good governance, has made this decision as these individuals are best suited for the role as they are already well aware of how FICAC works.
It is also believed these individuals have solmenly taken an oath to ensure their own cases will not be influenced unduly by their new roles and will maintain their independence.
Rabuka is laughing at us. He laughed when the idiots of Fiji made him PM. He is now laughing at all of us. He laughed when he gave himself and his hangers on a pay rise. He laughed when he went to China and To ga to collect his daily allowance. Now he is laughing about the Ficac matter including the fact that all investigations of him and his ministers are now defunct.
In Sundays Fiji Times everett states that he was never notified nor approved of barb using him as her referee. Then he says he had not seen barbs application. Yet the Fijian Constitution required the Judicial Services Commission to consult with everett before recomending barbs to the President. So was everett consulted or not? And if he was then surely he did see barbs application. And if he did not see barbs application therefore he has not discharged his constitutional duty and the appointment of barb is illegal. If he was consulted it means you see the merit of the application as per her application. Either way everett is either lying or incompetent and has failed to perform his functions as required by law.
Saab sala chor hei.
Butobutako kece
Nanoa, nikua,mataka
Whom to trust these days.
A great person to head the inquiry will be Barbara Malimali herself with a reference from the AG stating she’s a highly respected member of the legal profession
Meanwhile over on Fiji Leaks Victor Lal has just dropped a bombshell. It looks like Biman may have deliberately undervalued an asset to evade a proper calculation of CGT. If this is true then his position as Minister of Finance has just become untenable.
I stress if this is true. But if it’s true this is a big deal.
Bimanwa keh Labasa keh kadwadu khawae manghe reh.
Biman needs to be fed the dried fish of Labasa. Might give him some strength. He is looking pretty weak.
Someone call 911RICHARDNAIDU 😂😂
Alex Forwood, that whole petition needs a bit of tender care with spelling checks.
You can definitely edit your document.
We need to show a sense of seriousness of the issue and spelling checks help.
The petition has 285 signatures and growing.
I don’t think that’s deterring anyone. I’m about to sign it.
You could send her a private message about spelling errors if that’s a concern and I’m sure she would check it.
Please do your part to keep the Fiji Government accountable.
You are a joker
Your immigration agent puppet has no English 🤣
I hope that inquiry is not meant to clear Babras appointment when it’s totally flawed and corrupt
