The shocking spectacle of the Acting Commissioner for Corrective Services, Sevuloni Naucukidi, brawling in O’Reilly’s Nightclub couldn’t come at a worse time for the Rabuka government as rumours swirl about even more shocking revelations in the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry report.
A number of very big names could be about to lose their heads if the Prime Minister acts on Justice David-Ashton Lewis‘s adverse findings against them. But the acting head of the prison service is already a dead man walking after his late-night antics and his head should rightly be in a basket by day’s end if there are any standards left at all in the Coalition government.
Here’s Naucukidi in full flight – a metaphor for a government in which discipline has broken down across a broad front and a metaphor for a nation in which violence has become commonplace – whether it is murderous assaults on women, brawling in our schools or government officials blind drink and in this instance, trading blows in public.
Totoka, eh? And we wonder why the nation’s teachers are saying that discipline has completely broken down in many of our schools. As Grubsheet has long observed, nations take their cue from the conduct of those at the top. And Fiji is steadily unraveling because our supposed role models have no idea how to behave themselves.
Naucukidi joins the likes of Lynda Tabuya and Nancy Tikoisuva in making appalling spectacles of themselves. But it is just the tip of a much bigger iceberg contained in the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry findings, which are reportedly set to engulf the careers of a raft of very big names. Assuming, that is, that the Prime Minister has the courage and sense of duty to the nation to make those findings public and act on them.
Grubsheet is still temporarily off the air. We’ve worked out our technical challenges and they require a computer upgrade. But Grubsheet’s global headquarters (our dining room table) has been gutted as work proceeds on rectifying the flood damage we suffered just over a year ago. My Esteemed Marama and I have moved three times in the past month into temporary accommodation. And until we are back home in late May, my ability to post here is severely restricted.
My apologies to my faithful and long-suffering readers. But in the meantime – including when it comes to O’Reilly-gate – there’s no better alternative than Victor Lal‘s Fijileaks, and especially to find the stories that the domestic media in Fiji prefers to ignore.
Sota tale.

Plus a reminder of the high standards the Acting Corrective Services Commissioner promised to maintain when he was appointed in March. The conduct of the Coalition is a national joke.

What requires immediate attention is this hypocrite’s head on a stake.
POSTSCRIPT:
The current state of Grubsheet’s global headquarters. Sorry.

Sevuloni ‘kete levu’ Naucukidi’s potbelly indicates that the last thing he should be doing is drinking alcohol. in any other country, this type of disgraceful public spectacle would call for an immediate sacking, if not resignation, but this is Fiji. We do things differently. We are a forgiving nation, and I am being sarcastic here. The clarification is necessary, because many readers take it literally. As for the Ashton-Lewis report, let’s see if the Prime Minister has the balls to make it public or is it too cowardly and beholden to special interests. Let’s see where his true allegiance lies – is it to the country and its people or to his cronies who might be mentioned in the report. If he’s a good Prime Minister he would know that his first and only allegiance is to Fiji and its citizens, and he will do the right thing by the people in the country.
Don’t hold your breath mate.
We all know full well the sona rolex is not a good man. Allegiance for country? Lol!
Sona Rolex man never did have allegiance for country (x2 coups, mutiny, or wife (serial adulterer), or family (daughter nearly fatally beaten by non other than current education drunk dunderhead of room 233 fame).
Balls? More like shriveled prunes that baimaan will not take out of his karia motar lal batti mouth.
O O O O’Reilly… Autoparts.
Do you have an advanced copy of the Ashton report Graham?
If Rambo does not release it, maybe grubsheet can?
No, I do not. But if anyone wants to provide me with one, I would be most grateful. And so would everyone here. 🙂
Good morning Graham,
I am relieved to know that the maintenance is only on your computer. I was getting worried that the maintenance was on you!
Best of luck with the upgrade and on your headquarters getting back to normal.
Sota tale
I was thinking Richard “I have the means” Naidu had filed an “Injection” on GD. Glad he is doing well. Keep the unfiltered news flowing.
O’Reilly-gate.
To paraphrase Scottish funnyman TV host–Isn’t that nice? Isn’t that lovely?
Setting house/nation in order would be a great way to begin with
What was this old clown doing in a nightclub?
Shouldn’t he be home caring for his grandkids?
He has brought disrepute to the Fiji Corrections Service and must be sacked.
Shocking
More shocking things have happened prior to this native idiot making a fool of himself.
Porn anyone? Smoking weed? Adultery from several government members.
The conduct of the judiciary santa clause
The odpp idiots
Baimaan escaping prosecution
Nepotism in Finance ministry where wife is brought in to work under husband–sanctioned by Lal Batti, Karia Motar and his PS?
Titti Barb’s conduct
Impotent AG’s conduct
Baboon just-us minister defending the corrections idiots behavior?
The sona rolex pm’s hypocrisy calling for unity AND acting to marginalize more than one third of the population at the same time?
The same sona rolex who has destroyed our country with his 2 coups? Unity? Faaark off.
All these and many more transgressions must be called repeatedly out to remind the electorate of their own stupidity voting as they did and will likely do so again 2026.
Pre-1987, the disciplinary forces upheld the law. Their compounds were neat and tidy. Army personnel in uniform would submit apologetically to Police when, for instance, booked for over-speeding. Emergency vehicles were just Police, Fire and Ambulance.
Post-1987, Police are disregarded, Prison or CORRECTIONS and even private security company cars are now zigzagging through the traffic with sirens on. And many more.
Can one imagine Lt Col. Nailatikau, when Acting Army Commander under Commanders Manueli and Thorpe, brawling at the Defence or Bowling Clubs, Club Hotel or Sunset Lounge? Thanks to 1987!
I just cant stop laughing at the laughing stock that Fiji has become.
Awesome work by Biman and Rabuka to set the standards so low that the only thing we as Fijians can do is laugh at shit like this.
Please vote for them again so that we can become even worse.
I am surprised that Mr 15%, Pramesh Sharma hasn’t piked up to defend this behavior too!
Hahaha… What a super heaveyweight show! Fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee – no way. He cannot even throw a punch. Yoo much kana kasera.
What a bad image for Fiji
Very unhealthy and dangerous for men to have big bellies and to drink.
Yet it’s everywhere.
It’s actually quite serious.
So little self restraint in Fiji. Even police can’t run after murderers, they are so fat and unfit.
It’s grotesque
Time to hire sober workers
On the contrary, I think this man has the ideal characteristics to be appointed to this position. Just like everyone else who has been appointed to positions of responsibility his main characteristic and qualification is that he is a complete dickhead. It is an essential quality one must have in Fiji today. Just look at the CJ, Rabuku, Nancy, and many others in the ODPP and elsewhere.
Isa we miss you Graham!! It’s about the only thing that I look forward to each day and that is to read what’s the latest challenge in mad Fiji!!
So take care of yourselves and easy does it !! Moving is not a pleasant or easy task !!
Loloma levu
Anything Siromi Touches, turns to Shit.
Except siromi lemur thinks he has the midas touch. Everything he touches turns to sona.
Is this guy part Kai dia or Kai loma? He doesn’t look full Fijian. He should do a DNA test. There are too many Kai Loma going around as disguised itaukei, as they say in outback Australia, these are the most dangerous of the species.
Those “most dangerous of the species” are nothing compared to Apenisa Rabuli Nawaqatabu’s ongoing rants on FB.
Oh, sorry, I forgot he is an Israelite, thus among the chosen ones and is entitled to go on the rampage even against the Kalou Vus.
@ Kalou Vu
You must be referring to many i’taukei chiefs who have kai loma blood.
What does a full i’taukei supposed to look like?
Problem is many taukei women prefer vulagi males as father of their children. They know they wont get beaten up every night !
As reported on Aucklangd’s Radio Tarana’s FB page.
Fiji Village has reported that the Online Safety Commission is investigating a complaint related to a viral video showing a senior government official involved in an altercation at a local venue. The video appears to depict Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Sevuloni Naucukidi, engaged in a fistfight inside a Suva nightclub.
In response, the Commission has reminded the public and media that while freedom of expression and media freedom are protected under the Constitution, these rights are not without limits. The Online Safety Act 2018—particularly Section 24—makes it a criminal offence to circulate online content that is harmful or likely to cause harm to an individual.
The Commission clarified that the purpose of the Act is not to hinder legitimate journalism or reporting in the public interest, but to curb the misuse of digital platforms for harassment, defamation, or endangerment. It emphasized the need to distinguish between responsible reporting and harmful online behavior.
The Commission is working closely with the Fiji Police Force to assess the situation. It warned that any individual or organization found to be unlawfully distributing the video may face legal action.
In the meantime, the public and media are strongly urged not to share or further amplify the video while investigations are underway. The Commission stressed the importance of respecting privacy, due process, and the rule of law, and reaffirmed its commitment to balancing online safety with media freedom—while calling for responsible content sharing to prevent reputational or psychological harm.
Omg! You are back.
I was having withdrawal symptoms.
Thank you GD.
If Batiwale remains in his job for 12 months then please let me know. But mark my words, he will be gone before that. It’s common knowledge that he jumps jobs.
Dating websites are still painfully felt by Fijian men overseas 😂
Relieved to see your post, Graham. For those of us with loved ones in Fiji yours is a voice that must not be silenced … not even by home upgrades. Good luck with getting comfortably back to reporting mode.
Fiji has gone so far backwards when Aussies get desperate pleas for cash to buy diabetes medicine because gov cannot supply them whilst fat gov drunkards pick fights in bars.
I thought your computer may have been hacked and that all the identities of the contributors to this forum would be exposed. It was a scary thought. But it all seems good. Alas for fiji not good at all.
Just the other day that slimy snake spoke about violence against women. In fact it should be loud and clear that there should be no violence against anyone but you see the itaukei have very little self restraint against anything or anyone.
Well let’s see what drama unfolds as days go by this week.
Turaga has come out defending the Naucukidi. He fails to mention that Naucukidi is a close friend of his and the appointment was never based on merit. But, this is the way this government operates. No matter what you do, you get to walk Scot free. If Tabuya got to walk away smiling after rattling the bed head with Radrodo, Naucukidi will walk away from this without any ramifications.
With this government’s relentless ethnic cleansing efforts well underway, people such as Naucukidi will no doubt be appointed. We hear that the video is from March and is going to be used as a defence to clear his name. If you’re a Fijian minister’s friend and you commit murder then get appointed to a key position in government later, you are likely to be forgiven because the murder was committed before the appointment.
This racially-biased corrupt government should learn something from the Federal election in Australia. Not only did the ALP win, it decimated other smaller parties and left the Liberals in shambles. This three-legged uneven racist government should learn that the voice of the people cannot be silenced and they will exact retribution when given the opportunity. Rabuka and his disgusting people need to understand that the people of Fiji are waiting for their time in 2026 – they will (hopefully) boot this corrupt lot out.
Vinaka GD for the latest news on Fiji – I always look forward reading news not covered in depth in our local media
Keep up the good work as for the CP he needs to behave himself well in the public eyes, nothing wrong to go the pub but attacking or engaging in a brawl is unprofessional and lack of integrity on his part…he must learn to control himself while in a pub and most importantly think about his work, family and his Vanua from the central islands of Fiji…
My Fiji is becoming a laughing stock market of the world due to this types of behaviour, I hope the PM releases the COI report publicly for everyone to see and SACK all the high horses who are preventing justice and inequity in our country!!
Far out! Beyond absurd.
Online safety “commission” run by a nephew who himself was accused of harassment. Sexual deviant.
To address the drivel the “commission” is spewing- it is very much in the public interest to know how a very senior civil servant is behaving badly in public. A civil servant who is charged with CORRECTIVE behavior is himself a fk3d up public drunk!!
The “commission” never seems to have the gumption to investigate the behavior, but instead to prosecute the content source. Investigate the porn queen! Oh, wait, you’re the nephew! Vuvale, kilavata nephew cannot investigate his own aunty weed.
Respect his privacy? Goodness gracious! The idiot was being a demonstrable fkwit in PUBLIC! Stop this rubbish BS jibberish!
Rule of law? The demonstrable fkwit himself should’ve been arrested right then for violence/assault and disturbing the peace.
Reputational and psychological harm? Wake up! The idiot had done himself all the reputational harm there is. And he isn psyco to boot.
The online “commission” must stop bending over to defend the indefensible. Not everyone is as dumb as you.
Get real or go back to your dating website!
The moment Sevuloni held the bouncers collar he should have been hit by the other bouncers Cause thats what Oreileys bouncers have done in the past too when someone touches they own
Good to see the other guy managed to hit the Sevuloni before being dragged out. What a waste of tax payers money on hiring him as acting commissioner.
https://fijilive.com/coc-under-spotlight-nakarawa-raises-concerns-on-naucukidi/
As I have previously mentioned, this is classic operational imperative by the administration, hire a man or women that is compromised and will be compromised.
He will do what he is told.
There was a situation in a previous “event’ where prisoners were released to provide the right conditions for chaos. Compromised larikans in charge is a good bullet to have in the breach for “the cause”.
To think that this was a one-off situation.. the response of Dr. jalesi Nakarawa to the COC details disciplinary actions taken against Naucukidi for alcohol related incidents.
& to think that he was still chosen to be Acting Compris is crazy.. but then again not surprising that Siromi and his side-kick in Ropate “Gusu-tere” Green had a hand in his appointment. I swear anything these 2 touch turns to poop.
They should all hold hands and exit stage left together so to spare the rest of Fiji from the peril that bears their fingerprints #ByeFelicia
Why is there so much lawlessness in this country? Just scroll through social media in regards to this video. The typical responses:
“He is a human. Let him enjoy”
“A man is allowed to drink and enjoy himself”
“We don’t know the true story…who started it. Show the full video”
I mean common sense is that, as an office holder, public servant…there is a level of decency, code of conduct, ethics that you have to abide by at all times.
Any other country, he would have stood down by now. Or resigned himself.
And can’t miss the most common one, if you say anything against this on social media…” shut up you kulina” or ” go back to your country”.
I feel sorry for these people. It’s not their fault but the fault is on people who appointed them to the positions they don’t deserve.
Not only Corrections Commissioner but there are others too.
If not appointed with proper vetting and someone doesn’t have MQR for the job than this is what we likely to hear or see.
Hopefully he can go and get help for alcohol abuse or enter into a rehabilitation program, just like prisoners do and become a law abiding citizen.
Kulina is real ,God given.
Not slicing it away just for the sake of an abstract read from a book with a man made razor blade .
So many cut pieces of Kulinas would have made a good meal with some Lolo and taro to go with it aye “what do you expect.”
The Coalition of Biman and Rabuka is the gift that keeps giving.
No accountability no consequences, just shit and move to the next one.
No saving Fiji now, the uneducated, uncultured and unethical have now taken power.
There’s a saying, to stay in power one must keep the masses poor, sick and uninformed. Forget about uninformed, Fijians are deluded on whats happening around them. The coalition is eating the Fijian society inside out and maggots like the one in this post are crawling out now.
