# PLAY CALLED OFF DUE TO INJURY

Posted on November 26, 2025 28 Comments

GD has been sidelined by an injury which prevents me from using a computer keyboard for the moment. It means that I am unable to post my usual articles until further notice. I very much regret the temporary suspension of service but please look out for CommonMan’s articles on weekends.

I seek the understanding of my readers and salute them for their loyalty over the years. (On second thoughts, I can’t salute either)

Vinaka vakalevu.

Hope whatever it is, it will not deter you from returning to the keyboard when you are up to it.
I’m sure I speak for many of your readers when I say that I miss your daily updates on the serious condition this country is in, whenever there isn’t a story to read.

I have given up buying newspapers now, so my news about Fiji comes solely from you and I would be thoroughly lost without it.

Take care and get well soon, and please keep up the great work that you do, when you are able.

It is very much appreciated by me and I’m sure by many more, out there.

You are absolutely right Davo about news from Grubsheet that is timely and revealed with truth. I would have never known of all the these hidden truths if it had not been for Mr. Graham’s timely updates.

In fact I have lost trust in the reporting of the local newspaper journalists who seem to be biased in their reporting.

I begin my day with Graham’s news updates and thank him for all his hard work in doing us this great favour.

Yeah! Evidence GD, please. Come see the experts at CWM (highly recommended by Saleshni Temo) if doctors in Aussie can’t help you fix this mystery ‘injury.’

      I jest!
(PS- stop pulling our legs, they hurt so bad already from the BS the local media try to pass off as news.)

The local dailies are careful what they print. On one hand Fiji Times controlled by the Motibhai’s and censored by Richard ‘i have the means’ Naidu. Fiji Sun inconsistent wirh half truths. FBC is a no show and CFL with the now censored Vijay Narayan is such a disappointment. Vijay used to go all out on the Bainimarama government but now it seems he has done a gentleman handshake with the current government. So GD, we need you like the desert misses the rain! Speedy recovery.

We desperately need you back, GD. Today’s headline in the Fiji Times is the latest reason why: ‘Lal says sorry’ with a huge picture of Ketan Lal. All that article will do is further inflate Ketan’s ego.

Totally inconsequential item when you consider the many important things going unreported.

Our media are more useless than our politicians. They too don’t have any idea about what they are doing.

    Pathetic to say the least.

    Best wishes, GD.

BTW, Rajendra Chaudhry criticized the Army Commander on FB for their apology this week to the GCC, but when will he do the same to the Indian community. Then Jacob Waqa hits back at him Israeli style. Understandable as after all, Jacob gets his name from one of the Patriarchs.

“To all fellow itaukei …i urge u all to kill this f**ken slimy piece of shit….if any happen to see him set foot here in fiji…plis asap take him and torture him afar…its good to stop and wipe out this kind of people rather than letting them barking and bringing indifferences amongst us in our country….staying afar and commenting like a f**k up old ragged bag.”

BTW, why did the great council of coconuts get an apology from the RFMF – this coconut would like to know.

Can the Fiji Muslim League, Sanatam Dharm, or Sanagam get an apology as well?

Everyone needs to pay attention to the GCC Chairs message of Apartheid loud and clear. That is the only signal in the media noise that is relevant. This is the sealed fate of Fiji’s future. A cursed country and an even more cursed citizenry.

Reading some of the “confessions” of the SWINE Rabuka before the bullshit truth and reconciliation Commission made me want to vomit. Rabuka seriously thinks that most of are as dumb as him and his corrupt goons are.

Some of his comments are not only laughable, but makes you wonder how much of a scum of a human being this asshole really is.

He says his daughters and wife lost friends after his coup. And Vijay Narayan apparently asks him how his family coped with that. FOR F**K SAKE….we had Indians killed, tortured, raped, and the Coalition”s arse licker Vijay is more concerned about how Rabuka and his family coped by losing friends. Vijay definitely “sucks” at his job (pun definitely intended).

Fiji is on the road to ruins. Fiji was ceded back in the 1800s because it couldn’t defend itself against Tongans. Economically, there may come a time when Fiji may have to be ceded again.

GD’s medical professionals will give their treatment or corrective plan. Whether arthritis or carpel tunnel or other causes. A reader suggestion: Perhaps a work around or could even be the only long term solution – use of a voice to type software. So that the typing fingers don’t suffer from overuse but the message gets written. Or even a full size keyboard is preferable to the one in a laptop for the sake of one’s wrists and fingers.
    Regardless – get well soon.

Just take all of Christmas and new year off. Come back with that you tube channel mate.

You can interview Chris Pryde, and heaps others. Many Fijians in Sydney would be willing to offer their opinions about Fiji elections.

You can do it, as Rob Schneider in Deuce Bigalow would say…

    Your genuine supporters.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.

Comments are welcome and you can contact me in the strictest confidence at grubsheetfeedback@gmail.com

(Feejee is the original name for Fiji - a derivative of the indigenous Viti and the Tongan Fisi - and was widely used until the late 19th century)
