Biman Prasad – the NFP leader and Finance Minister – has joined his fellow deputy prime minister, Manoa Kamikamica, in being charged by FICAC with corruption-related offences and is expected to resign tomorrow (Tuesday).
The move – predicted by Grubsheet – has rocked the government to the core and robs it of two of its most prominent ministers when it is already under seige across a broad front.
If the two are eventually convicted, it is the end of their political careers and will have a major impact on next year’s election.
More details in due course. But we reiterate the same reminder we issued last week when Manoa Kamikamica was charged. The case of now sub-judice and Biman Prasad is entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
So please try to be restrained with your comments or they will not be approved for publication.

Well there goes any hope of a reduction in the price of lamb chops.
Oh! Nooooo!
Now is the time to invest in NZS&P/NZX stock market lamb.
Hurry prices are gonna shoot up. Hahahaha! This liumuri fella thought he was untouchable!
Biggest traitor and betrayer to have ever walked the earth. Bastard!
Rolex Rambo is doing what he has always done before – throw his trusted advisors and buddies under the bus to strengthen his position and longevity.
He has slowly been consolidating his position by bringing his former coup buddies into his inner circle viz. Lesi Korovavala (PS PM’s Office); Filipo Taraikinikini (Fiji UN Rep); Ioane Naivalurua (Minister of Policing) etc ….
……………with new members of his inner cabal Viz. Naiqama Lalabalavu (President); Salesi Temo (CJ); Lynda Tabuya (Min of Info); Mosese Bulitavu (Min for Climate Change) etc etc
The writing was always on the wall.
Biman and Manoa did the right thing—stepping down while their cases are heard. Yet Chief Justice Temo, Turaga, and Rabuku remain untouched. Justice isn’t selective—why are some above the law? Enough is enough.
They had no choice. Resign or be sacked like Kalaveti Ravu before them.
A very calculated move by someone who has already made the numbers in parliament.
Getting rid of any adversary
This is something very disturbing in Fiji politics.
Is this the work of the Snake?
Baiman Prasad, It is the curse of the 1987 Victims, the coup leader you brought into power.
Two down, one more to go.
Will the new Fiji Airways CEO be going by the books and recover the unpaid millions for the charter?
All will go except the PM to enable the completion of his unfinished 1987 mission without accounting and paying for any of his wrongs. He indeed has a future.
Two ministers who were a threat to Rabuka have been charged. Both will step aside to allow the “rule of law and fair justice” to take its course.
Both were problems for Rabuka as they had the power to usurp him from his throne in the next elections. Rabuka has neither thrown his support behind these two publicly or even let out a general fart to show he cares what happens to them.
Baimaan the dogla will no doubt run to Wiley and cradle his nuts, begging him to represent him along with Kamikamica. A class action in the wind?
Ah, Salesi, you are indeed a sneaky bastard. Rabuka has been plotting this with you for some time. Via Viber calls. So nothing is recorded.
Removing these two cancerous cretins before the next election ensures Rabuka is unchallenged. He no longer needs the NFP grovelling and will go it alone, as long as he can ensure all the key threats are disqualified by next year. Without something as solid as FFP or another party which has significant support, Rambo is on track to keep his cushy job.
His defense argues he is innocent, mainly because getting caught was never part of his economic policy.
There is a god – albeit one of the myriad Hindu gods.
And Karma is biting Baimaan’s dogma.
Thousands of prayers have been answered today as the Traitor Baimaan is dragged to the courts to answer to his misdeeds.
It remains to be seen whether he is summoned or appears in custody like any common man. He did not even smell the charges and was speaking big things whilst opening Nakasi Police Station, which was envisioned and built by the previous administration inclusive of Lautoka and Nadi Stations.
The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine. Best news in the last three years. One by one, all will go to create a clear path for the SNAKE. Wrong strategy of NFP to join the Coalition in the first place, which is blowing up in their faces. Will not be surprised at other existing NFP members joining PAP.
Karma catching up with Biman?
This could be a grave error by Rabuka as Prasad is a once in a generation political talent who can clear his name and come back twice as strong at the next election.
He has huge resources behind him to afford the best legal team from Fiji / overseas. Fiji’s business community stands with him and he represents a careful balance of good governance with pragmatic reality.
He’s also unafraid to take unpopular choices and the Fijian people will appreciate everything he has done for them. His lamb chop policy sparked people’s imagination and his loyalty to some of Fiji’s biggest businesses will reward him.
Crikey. What on earth are you taking? Because I want some.
Once in a generation degenerate you meant to write?
This is the best comment. Can you please tell me who is your dealer ? You smoke some quality stuff
Richard Naidu – is that you? Come out from under Jon Apted’s sulu.
“Once in a generation political talent”???!!!
WTF.
You’ve been sucking up too hard.
I just love this. Maybe Biman forgot to ask permission from the Snake before engaging in corruption.
One only gets what one deserves and Bimans time is up. He will reap what he sowed.
Only wait now is to see the snake shed its skin 1 last time.
Perhaps Biman Prasad’s lawyer, Richard Naidu, was doing more than ‘observing’ the appearance of Manoa Kamikamica in court on charges laid by FICAC?
No doubt he will have watched his fellow legal Wylie Clarke as he represented Manoa, but the charges against Biman don’t relate to the COI!
Where is the former FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali in all this? Will she be called as a potential witness for either side? And if she is will her legal counsel for the COI Tanya Waqanika be appearing for her, and if so, who will be paying the bill?
We await the appearance by Biman in court and what he is being charged with!
During the 2022 elections campaign trail, Badhiya Baiman used to frequently say: “I trust Rabuka”, “I trust Rabuka”. At one of the joint rallies, Baiman even sought permission from his God Rambo if he could speak in Hindi to his Indo-Fijian audience.
After NFP opposed the pay rise of parliamentarians in mid-2024, Rolex Rabuka threatened to punish NFP. Every month, Badhiya Baiman would issue a statement confirming and reassuring his ‘strong faith in Rambo’ and support for the Snake, including his ‘utmost honour’ of working under Rolex Rambo.
Such was the level of docility and total subservience on the part of NFP towards Rabuka. Baiman was totally loyal and subservient to Snake Rambo – at the expense of alienating his voter base and importantly, betraying and selling out the Indo-Fijian community.
And how did Snake Rambo repay Badhiya Baiman’s loyalty? The outcome is for everyone to see for themselves. Snake Rambo showed Baiman utter contempt, bit him, used and threw him under the bus.
How prophetic were Bainimarama’s words when he used to refer to Rabuka as the ‘Snake’.
I am also reminded of Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum’s observation about Badhiya Baiman prior to last elections:
– he will be Rambo’s ‘water boy’
– he will hold on to Rambo’s sulu
– Baiman is only after ‘karia motar and lal batti’
GD, kerekere put up the pictures of the 7 Govt Ministers that were to be charged by FICAC.
Let’s start the elimination game. We’ll a thing or two on where the senile, slippery old snake and his circle of old farts are taking Fiji towards.
Just like Bai failed in 2022, so will these wrinkly old bums.
Karma never misses. Just look at the shameful scandals that have been the milestone achievements of the worst government ever in Fiji’s history.
Richard “I have the means” Naidu must be extremely busy tonight.
Rabuka’s reading list could not have omitted “The Prince” by Nicollo Machiaveli.
We are what we eat / Read – as CommonMan demonstrates in a different way.
Most of us have been waiting for this day. My Diwali gift may have come a week late…but boy it was worth it. Perhaps the BEST news in a long time. This guy betrayed a whole community for self gain and greed. Personally pocketed and benefited from dealings. No wonder Richard is hiding his face in public and probably scratching ass right now trying to figure out what to do.
This racist anti-islam propagandist PIG deserves to rot in jail. The hate and lies this MF spread in the lead-up to the elections against Muslims was straight out of Modi’s hindutva movement book. He actively supported and funded the hate through social media campaigns, NFP gatherings, meetings, and social gatherings – all for power.
The way you have betrayed the Fijians of Indian descent will forever be a curse on you and your family.
We hope your ass continues to be dragged to court and you eventually rot in jail MF. You and your NFP SWINES can lick each others wounds whilst NFP goes into political oblivion. We all PRAY that the NFP party self destruction and becomes extinct come 2026.
Sleep well Baimaan…make sure you keep lubricant with you. It will come in handy. Ask Richard and Jon to get you trained for your time inside.
Ouch. It never ceases to amaze me that whenever I think I have been harsh, someone else emerges to prove that I am just a pussy cat at heart.
GD, (EDITED FOR LEGAL REASONS) Manoa and Biman are being given special treatment. Both have been issued summons to appear in court. Why? Normally when people are charged with serious criminal offences they are arrested, they are immediately brought to court. If they cannot be brought to court immediately then they are detained in custody to be brought to court at the earliest. Bail conditions are set by the court.
So why are Biman and Manoa treated differently by FICAC from ordinary citizens?
Biman has to appear in court, we are told, sometime in the middle of November. So from now until then we don’t know the exact charges; Biman has no restrictions, he can with the help of his friend Richard and others interfere with witnesses, he can make evidence disappear, he can travel overseas, he can work behind scenes to muster public support including through social media etc. No conditions.
Ordinary citizens don’t have the luxury having summons issued against them. Recently when the former ceo fbc was charged, he was kept in custody overnight apparently because no magistrate was available until the next day. And that is when he was given bail.
So if FICAC wants to preserve whatever credibility it has left, it needs to ensure that it treats all citizens equally and not give special treatment to the select few.
