The response of the Acting DPP, Nancy Tikoisuva, to the strong criticism from the substantive but absent DPP, Christopher Pryde, of her re-engagement of Laisani Tabuakuro as an Assistant DPP after Pryde sacked Tabuakuro for misconduct is easily the most outrageous travesty of the truth Grubsheet has ever witnessed from someone in a position of authority in Fiji.
Tikoisuva is unfit to hold any senior position in an office of state, or junior position for that matter, given her comments in today’s Fiji Sun, in which she shamelessly misrepresents the circumstances of Tabuakuro’s lawful removal. Nancy – the notorious party girl – simply lies, claiming that Christopher Pryde didn’t have the authority to terminate Tabuakuro.
Pryde was, and still is, the substantive DPP. Tabuakuro was on probation at the ODPP and didn’t hold a substantive position. And her misconduct was egregious – publicly criticising the Fiji Labour Party and prompting a stinging response from the Labour leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, making intemperate outbursts in the courtroom during the trials of Frank Bainimarama and Sitiveni Qiliho, and sending messages to all staff at the ODPP criticising Christopher Pryde and daring him to return to Fiji, where she said FICAC charges would await him.
It was conduct that would get anyone sacked from any organisation anywhere in the world, especially someone who was on probation and whose proper conduct was a pre-requisite for being confirmed in any official position. Yet in Nancy Tikoisuva’s warped view of the world, it is all excusable.
And once Christopher Pryde was safely out of the way in New Zealand waiting for the Judicial Services Commission to rule on the false allegations of financial misconduct Nancy Tikoisuva herself has levelled against him, she simply reinstated her friend – an acting DPP countermanding a lawful decision of the substantive DPP in an astonishing breach of proper protocol.
Let’s just go through the evidence against Party Girl Nancy, who distinguished herself at the last ODPP Conference by lolling drunkenly in front of multiple bottles of liquor while the Deputy DPP and infamous “Crooning Stallion”, John Rabuku, belted out a succession of songs at a post-conference soiree that you paid for, Fiji. Yes, a taxpayer-funded knees up that has become emblematic of the degenerate conduct of the ODPP in Christopher Pryde’s absence.
First, here’s the letter the DPP sent to Laisani Tabuakuro on January 30 terminating her services for the aforementioned outrages that Christopher Pryde released to the media yesterday as he took issue with Nancy Tikoisuva’s extraordinary decision to reinstate her.

Now to Nancy Tikoisuva’s astonishing response in today’s Fiji Sun, questioning the DPP’s right to terminate someone on his staff who was on probation after she had broken multiple rules about how an Assistant DPP should conduct herself.
It is outrageous that Tikoisuva would even challenge Christopher Pryde’s authority under the circumstances. Yet it is symptomatic of the anarchy that currently reigns in the ODPP as Nancy the resident mateni turns a blind eye to the conduct of her friends and fellow iTaukei, actively subverts all accepted protocols in the civil service and offices of state and thumbs her nose at the man who is still the substantive DPP and as such, was fully within his rights to terminate his rogue assistant.

This entire story is a travesty from beginning to end.
- “Nancy Tikoisuva has supported the decision to reinstate Laisani Tabuakoro”. SHE MADE THE DECISION to do so.
- “No formal complaint was submitted through the internal disciplinary processes to warrant her termination”. NONE WAS REQUIRED. The DPP exercised his authority to terminate someone who was guilty of gross misconduct.
- Laisani Tabuakuro was “not afforded the opportunity to respond to the allegations made against her”. The allegations were proven, including public criticism by the Labour Party leader of her conduct. And as someone on probation, she clearly did not have the same rights as someone on the permanent staff.
- “It is essential that such matters follow due process to ensure fairness, transparency and integrity”. Christopher Pryde followed due process in deciding not to extend the ADPP’s appointment because of her misconduct. And it is Nancy Tikoisuva who has breached the integrity of the process by reinstalling her friend in the role when the DPP himself had terminated her.
- Nancy Tikoisuva accuses the DPP of a “serious breach of confidentiality and privacy” in releasing the aforementioned letter to “Grubsheet and media”. It is important evidence released in the public interest of the acting DPP’s own misconduct in reappointing someone who had been lawfully terminated.
- Nancy Tikoisuva calls on Christopher Pryde to inform the Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, when he intends to resume duty. It is she who has made false allegations of financial misconduct against the DPP, he is awaiting an assurance from Temo that he will not be suspended again having answered those charges and Temo is so far refusing to give that assurance.
Is this a trap that Tikoisuva and Temo – acting in concert – have set to snare Christopher Pryde by luring him back to Suva, where he would be immediately suspended and charged by FICAC on the false complaints that Nancy Tikoisuva has levelled against him?
That is the question that hangs over this entire affair. And it is a shocking indictment of the criminal justice system in Fiji that individuals of the calibre of the Salesi Temo and Nancy Tikoisuva have made it to its upper echelons. And that someone of the calibre of Laisani Tabuakuro should be a protected species when she has engaged in such egregious conduct that has brought the ODPP into disrepute.
Today’s Fiji Sun article is conclusive proof that Nancy Tikoisuva is a mendacious, manipulative disgrace.

Today’s newspaper coverage of Christopher Pryde’s statement yesterday. From the Fiji Sun…

And the Fiji Times…

Incredibly, as of this morning, the story has been completely ignored by CFL-Fiji Village.
It is clear evidence of Vijay Narayan and his colleagues taking $1.7-million of public money for “public broadcasting” and then suppressing a story of legitimate public interest.
Prove me wrong, Vijay. Do your job and cover the bloody story.

This lot would would be perfectly acceptable employees………in the Russian judicial system.
Putin would employ them in an instant, if only they could speak Russian. They have all exhibited the very qualities required for a job over there.
If Mr Pryde ever does get the assurances he is seeking (yeah right) the first thing he would have to do on his return would be to spray the offices, to rid the place of these cockroaches and seek out new suitable staff to put the office back to normal.
Davo,
No you are wrong, these people wouldn’t be hired as janitors in the Russian judicial system.
Nancy, Laisani and Temo are exactly the kinds of civil servants that Rabuka attracts. Witness the itaukei and half caste hangers on that fed on the pig that was once was the National Bank of Fiji.
Hopeless. Useless.
Pantsy Nancy is deviod of intellect, a rock head with a charisma to match.
Clearly evidenced by her ever angsty-pansty fat face trying to hide her inadequacies and inferiority complex.
Christopher Pryde’s office was always spotlessly clean and tidy. I was shocked a few months ago to see it had become dirty.grubby and a shambles. Much like the ODPP itself .
Nancy you are a racist pig just like Rabuka and your sponsors !! Bringing back that useless emotional wreck of a person Tabuakoro the masipolo will be your history forever because you both will destroy any semblance of respect that used to exist for DPP!!
Your days are numbered ! Go to your village and behave like an idiot there ! We the legal fraternity in Fiji are ashamed of you and your lot !! Vakamadua kocokoco!! Uneducated nuts !
Apart from being incompetent, arrogant, racist, entitled, unprofessional, lacking independence, lacking judgement, prejudiced etc, is it also a requirement that one has to be fat, smelly and ugly to be appointed to such positions.
Because these people meet all of these essential characteristics.
I can smell the bad odour from here.
Nancy – you are also an absolutely Z grade. Stop pigging off our hard earned tax dollars and resign. You guys are pathetic.
After watching all those who graduated from USP and Uni Fiji,I was so happy for them.
Their stories of struggle and sacrifice has paid off for many.
Some being single mothers, some with families to look after or some who had bad start in life and came back strong.
Congratulations to all of them.
Now the big question is where are the jobs or promotions for them.
Hopefully those that don’t perform or shouldn’t be there in first place should be asked or forced to resign.
We need a young and vibrant workforce.
Those lazy fat arses or through connection should go.
We need to give these graduates a chance.
This government should wake up.
There is no time for dramas .
Once again congratulations to those who made it.
To the USP choir, you guys were awesome during the gradation ceremony.
Hats off for that Hindi number.
Vinaka.
That Hindi number is not the appropriate song for those occasions. It is about a woman wanting to spend a long night with her lover. Please tell me how that is appropriate in all school settings in Fiji and especially for the little ones in primary.
Something is seriously f**ked in this country.
The rot begins at the top — at the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) under Salesi Temo. As long as Temo remains in power, no real justice can prevail. His removal is not just necessary, it’s urgent.
Temo shields a network of fast-tracked, unethical individuals like Nancy, Rabuku, Laisani at ODPP, and Barbara Malimali at FICAC — all strategically placed and protected. But the incompetent Temo himself enjoys the protection of Sitiveni Rabuka, creating a toxic chain of impunity.
Add to that the spineless enablers like Siromi and Leung, who act as rubber stamps for Rabuka’s agenda, and the picture becomes clear: any investigations into Coalition government ministers are already doomed. With changes being pushed to the Political Parties Act, they’re setting the legal stage to kill off any serious cases.
Chris Pryde stands as a glaring example of this systemic injustice — cleared by a Tribunal yet left in limbo without reinstatement, pay, or accountability. Why? Because Temo stands in the way. And while he does, fairness and integrity in our justice system remain fiction.
The only sliver of hope lies with the Commission of Inquiry. But even that is fragile — Justice Lewis’ findings will go to the President, whose loyalties are already suspect. His ascent to Government House, stage-managed with Rabuka, stripped the office of any remaining neutrality.
This Coalition government has deliberately closed every path to fair justice. They have put people in positions who tow the political line. It’s time for the people to rise, speak out, and demand accountability — before the system is too far gone to save.
Just to set the record straight, Christopher Pryde’s salary has been restored after the President ordered it. But it took several weeks for that order to be obeyed.
GD, Pryde’s salary restoration might have had something to do with teachers going unpaid. Hahaha
It’s beyond parody while civil servants can go unpaid for months (the sexual deviant SR would have all believe its nothing new), it’s odd the MPs and ministers never miss a pay themselves under the same payroll system.
Too funny, these rock head fluckers.
Even as 95% of the teachers, nurses, and other civil servants voted for this coalition of monkeys, and will do so again.
Racism is the glue that blinds them all.
We as a country and its people are f**ked with the coalition and its crooks running rampant like a wild bull let loose.
Get out of Fiji if you can. There’s nothing worth saving left now.
Can’t wait to read Richard ‘I have the means’ Naidu’s op-ed on the ODPP office. Democracy- loving and good governance champion Naidu was never short of words when FijiFirst was in government. Seems like lately the cat has got his tongue. Besides the huge tax exemption he gained for Fiji Water by working behind the scenes, he probably has some other deals in the making with government which he doesn’t want to jeopardize. But we live in hope.
Looks like every lawyer in Fiji failed Ethics and Administrative Law. The Law Society and JSC should get foreign lawyers to conduct crash course before it’s too late. Otherwise get rid of the farcical legal institutions.
It’s just a song my friend,
Whatever you can think of it.
For a Fijian or itaukei singing such a song,is a very big thing.
Same as if a Indo songs Fijian song.
Don’t look at it in Bollywood context, look at how a different race singing another races song.
Once again, good job USP choir.
It is not “just a song.”
It is like saying drop a vulgar English lyric and get the kids to dance on it.
The “just a song” attitude has made this country normalise harm.
If you don’t get the lyrics then shut up and sit down.
Kids these days know almost everything.
Thanks to the super surging electronic world and social media.
TVs are necessity in every home.
Not sure which world you living in, my friend.
A 10 year has knowledge of a 20 year old.
20 years ago, this didn’t happen.
A one year old today knows more than what you knew when you were in class 6.
Can’t hide anything these days from kids.
Acchaaa bhaya
The reality of Fiji lawyers is – you are either really good or you are extremely average – I have spoken to many visiting international lawyers who have backed this opinion.
Nancy defies this opinion. She makes her own category, MIDA Lawyers. Qualification for Nancy’s category are brainless, racist, wooden headed, dozy, cretinous, uncultured, imbecilic and philistine ( kept words simple so Nancy, Temo and Rambo plus their supporters can understand)
And we also have a wonderful lawyer in Lynda. She has announced on Facebook that she set up a charity in 2018. All her salary was directed to this trust fund. Now she has just done up a logo and is going to register it soon so that communities can benefit from that. How does that work I am not sure. Set up a fund and register it years later. Such a wonderful lady. Elections are nearing and all ministers are coming out of woodwork visiting people giving out boats, tractors, farm equipment etc. The Rolex fella is up in some village trying to look interested in their plight. I have not seen any Indians , Chinese or any other races being helped.
Spread the message and vote this coalition government out! These acrobats, clowns, and jugglers in the civil service — no offense to real circus professionals — are only enabled by the ‘group of owls’ voted into parliament, sadly perched on both sides of the house. They all served their purpose, but that post-election high from 2022 is fading fast. The hangover’s kicked in, and there’s nothing to show for it. The circus is over — time to clean up the tent.
Nancy, Malimali, Rabuku, Temo, Lynda, Siromi, and the idiots on the bench are a disgrace to the Fijian race. No ethics, no morals and zero standards. They better off and most qualified to serve as prison guards in the Russian gulag where they can do NO harm to Fiji. Enjoy the ride, cos it ain’t gonna last forever, morons.
