Posted on August 7, 2026 22 Comments

God help anyone in government now labouring under the vastly expanded powers of the restored Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, who wasn't totally supportive of him during his tussle with FICAC. That's the word as a wave of fear spreads through the civil service that Mr Sweet plans not only to take over from Sitiveni Rabuka as soon as it … [Read more...] about # FEARS OF A REIGN OF TERROR AS MANOA KAMIKAMICA STORMS BACK INTO POWER

# HERE’S LOOKING UP YOUR SULU, MATE. THE DOMINANT MEMBER OF THE VUVALE UNION SPEAKS (UPDATED)

Posted on August 5, 2026 15 Comments

Peter Roberts - the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji - doesn't go to the CFL Fiji Village studios like any local to be interviewed by Vijay Narayan. Vijay goes to him at the Australian official residence - a slice of Oz in the gated complex on Princes Road high above the capital. If the Mountain won't go to Mohammed - goes an old saying - … [Read more...] about # HERE’S LOOKING UP YOUR SULU, MATE. THE DOMINANT MEMBER OF THE VUVALE UNION SPEAKS (UPDATED)

# MR SWEET REJOINS THE COALITION OF BLING AS HALF THE NATION LIVES IN POVERTY

So Manoa Kamikamica is back as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and other things wearing the uniform of Sitiveni Rabuka's government - a large rock of gold on his left hand. What is it about these people that they can flash symbols of wealth in the faces of voters who put them there who can scarcely put food on the table? Or mat. … [Read more...] about # MR SWEET REJOINS THE COALITION OF BLING AS HALF THE NATION LIVES IN POVERTY

FICAC's failure to prove its case against Manoa Kamikamica because its star witness went to water in the witness box has triggered a renewed tussle for the leadership of the People's Alliance and again presents a direct threat to the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka. # PEOPLE FIRST OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES. BUT WHERE’S PREMILA?

Posted on August 2, 2026 12 Comments

The photo of the cake-cutting at the election campaign launch yesterday of Inia Seruiratu's People First party looked more like a wake than a celebration. And well it might because of one glaring omission - the absence of what many potential supporters would otherwise regard as the brightest star in its firmament. Where was Premila? Yes, the … [Read more...] about # PEOPLE FIRST OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES. BUT WHERE’S PREMILA?

# ROLEX RAMBO. KING OF THE ITAUKEI. CONQUEROR OF THE VULAGI

Posted on July 30, 2026 17 Comments

The secrecy accompanying the government's plans for constitutional change constitutes a conspiracy against the people and a violation of the public's right know. It is simply not acceptable for the Prime Minister to continue to act like an emperor and dodge the obligation he has to tell us all precisely what changes he envisages. The … [Read more...] about # ROLEX RAMBO. KING OF THE ITAUKEI. CONQUEROR OF THE VULAGI

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
