It simply beggars belief that as the Opposition calls for him to remove the corrupt Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, the Prime Minister is not only unmoved but inflicts Temo on the nation as Acting President for the Independence Day commemorations in Suva.
Feast your eyes on the following photos, Fiji, and keep in your mind’s eye the appalling spectacle of Temo as acting head of state. Because this is genuinely the lowest point in the nation’s history since 1970 – the man accused by a Supreme Court Commission of Inquiry of perjury and perverting the course of justice yet portrayed as the embodiment of the nation’s values on Fiji Day.
Fiji has fallen so far under Sitiveni Rabuka and the Coalition that it is difficult to see how the whole sorry progress of our nation can be arrested, let alone reversed. Shame on the Prime Minister for allowing it. Shame on Salesi Temo for not having the decency to stay away. Shame on Humphrey Tawake – once one of Frank Bainimarama’s most loyal lieutenants (“Humph”) – for presiding over this obscenity as parade commander.
The moral vacuum at the heart of the nation has been laid bare for all to see. And the Prime Minister looks like a shell of the leader he once was – bent over with age and physical decrepitude to match the moral decrepitude of his leadership of the nation and his sorry history of nation-busting, not nation building.
A day not to be proud to be Fijian but to be deeply ashamed and fearful. Fearful of the corrupt state of the nation and the legacy of moral decay that we are leaving our children under a Prime Minister with a gold Rolex watch but the cheapest possible vision of our beloved nation’s future.
Unbelievable.

The usual “all is well” rubbish from CFL-Fiji Village.

I don’t know about you, Fiji, but seeing this has made me almost physically sick. Incredible how far our country has fallen in three years under these self-serving goons.
Speaks volumes that “hundreds” turned up instead of the usual thousands.
Yes, good point. Those crowds used to be several rows thick. Now it looks likes an average school sports day. Vinaka.
True!
A sea of blue? Must be a very small sea. From what I saw, my interpretation was a pond with bluish algae stagnant water of last 3 years. It had number of crocodiles swimming around.
Temo failed to mention the rifedrug and corruption culture since the coming of this coalition government.
Temo’s facial expression depicts he is concerned how to make sure ASK and Frank don’t ever come back to power.
Rabuka’s face shows expression of thinking how he can screw the vulagis to make enough nationalist iTaukais happy to be elected as PM again one more time before he dies.
The worst part is that they see it as if they are doing nothing wrong, business as usual, nothing to see here.
And they expect everyone else to go along with it! It is heartbreaking to see the lengths that they will go to in order to feather their own nests whilst purporting to be doing their best for the country.
Half of the fijian population is living a life of poverty whilst these goons are flying around the world with no consideration for those that need help in this country and the overseas debt rises every year.
Independence was obviously the worst thing that could happen for Fiji, fifty five years ago. And nearly three years ago the second worst thing was the installation of this government.
The standards that this government has set is unbelievable. A Pedo President, a corrupt and racist PM, and a “should-have-been-suspended-and-then-terminated-for-misbehavior” CJ who should also be subsequently charged for abuse whilst in office, who is now Acting President.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise though. After all, Fiji chose to elect these numbnuts who are more focused on self greed and self gain rather than what’s good for the people and the nation.
The effects of their robbery of tax payers funds will be felt for years as was the case with the NBF scandal in which Rabuka was directly involved and responsible for.
Rabuka’s banana republic. Noting to celebrate. Fiji has steadily going backwards since 1970. This has been accelerated under PAP. Now Fiji is in terminal decline.
Vinaka Rambo.
Fiji Day Awards, none? If not already bestowed yesteryear, the implicated could be rewarded with Civil Service Medals for their “distinguished devotion and outstanding contribution to public service.” Perhaps, announcements will be made from the West Coast somewhere, tomorrow, their 10th Oct.
Alright, since you don’t want Salesi at the acting position, then I’ll take his place.
Thanks but no thanks. It would be no improvement.
How many are there on this forum who voted for this mob? Imbeciles!!!
To be fair, how many people in Fiji who voted for this mob?
Even though you all knew they were dickheads.
You can pretend it was a lack of judgement, you can pretend you all thought the dickhead had changed, you can come up with other excuses, but my god, I must tell you all you are a bunch of f/wits. It is all your fault the country has gone to the dogs.
You all would not know you stepped in a pile of dog shit.
Oh I know alright.
I have empathy for the swing voters of the last election. Biman and Rabuka made promises that life would improve—but the reality under the coalition government has been the opposite, leaving people miserable. As human beings, we all make mistakes, and the good thing is to acknowledge them and try to correct them.
Since 1987, I have not seen Rabuka do anything beneficial for the country or any community. In fact, the iTaukei people have suffered economically, while many vulagis have faced emotional hardship. Sadly, the majority of iTaukei seem unable to see how they are being manipulated in the name of Vanua. Meanwhile, many vulagis continue to work, mend, and improve their lives.
The only ones who have truly benefited are Rabuka’s close allies or the wealthy who can afford to gift him—no wonder businesspeople who can give him luxury items like golden Rolex watches hold him in high regard.
The last election was driven by “Politics of Hate.” Bainimarama and Aiyaz were turned into scapegoats. People were convinced they had to be pushed into opposition one term, and, disturbingly, many seemed almost sadistic in their desire to see these two political leaders suffer.
Ironically, those who wanted to see them suffer for just one term are themselves suffering more now. Bainimarama and Aiyaz may continue to face challenges due to Fiji’s corrupt justice system, but if Temo and Rabuka succeed in their plans—bolstered by support from Biman’s NFP members—the voters themselves will bear the consequences forever.
No one can escape mortality. Both Bainimarama and Aiyaz have medical conditions and family histories that should remind us of our shared human fragility. Yet their haters and progeny risk suffering indefinitely.
The more the coalition and it’s clowns fu*k up, the more I realise that stability was only guaranteed by FRANK BAINIMARAMA’S FIJIFIRST GOVERNMENT.
A good government is a pipe dream, and a bad government flashes before our eyes in the form of the irredeemable fu*k-wits that make up the coalition and its clowns.
Are we still having elections in 2026 ?
