The bellowing Canadian Moose, Dr Marc Edge, has spluttered back into life after a period of self-imposed hibernation with yet another of his perennial attacks on Grubsheet and our fellow blogger, Professor Crosbie Walsh. The former Head of Journalism at USP - who was sacked for misconduct - claims that Croz and I have gone quiet because we have … [Read more...] about # SPLUTTERINGS FROM THE EDGE

# MAD MARC ON THE WARPATH

Posted on December 27, 2012 4 Comments

Marc Edge has confirmed his departure from Fiji with an extraordinary diatribe that also confirms what he flagged a few weeks ago in the headline of one of his rambling web postings - "Whom the Gods would destroy, they first make mad". The former Head of the School of Journalism at the University of the South Pacific has been clearly unhinged by … [Read more...] about # MAD MARC ON THE WARPATH

What the cognoscenti in Suva have known for several days was finally revealed in a statement today from the University of the South Pacific - that the head of the USP's School of Journalism, Dr Marc Edge, has been unceremoniously dumped. Journalists and media educators have descended on the University of the South Pacific in Suva this week for a conference on "Media and Democracy in the South Pacific". #77 ON THE EDGE. AGAIN

Posted on May 8, 2012 26 Comments

Journalist educators have much in common with Caesar’s wife. They not only have to be above reproach but be seen to be above reproach. Anything less and these pillars of journalistic propriety can crumble in an instant, exposed in the eyes of their students and the wider community as emperors with no clothes. They need to live up to the high … [Read more...] about #77 ON THE EDGE. AGAIN

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
