# A DAY IN THE LIFE OF “A DRIVEN OLD MAN”

Posted on July 5, 2024 18 Comments

Leading from the back seat

The government’s propaganda people have gone into overdrive trying to enhance the Prime Minister’s standing with a special Youtube video entitled “A Day in the Life of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka“.

We learn, among other things, that he is a “driven old man” who has always set his sights on getting what he wants. But as always with the government’s PR people, there’s the same lack of attention to detail in the production of the video that exists at every level of governance in the Coalition.

Whoops

For example. Given the widespread community anger about the seven year tax holiday given to Fiji Water, why on earth would be Prime Minister be pictured wearing a Fiji Water cap? Was it a freebie for having saved Fiji Water tens of millions of dollars? Or did those nice billionaire owners of “earth’s finest water”, Stewart and Faye Resnick, give the PM the cap as a farewell present when he went to see them at home in Beverly Hills?

Anyway, no matter. Here’s the Prime Minister as the government’s spin doctors want you to see him.

Enjoy!

WARNING: Anyone who expects to see the PM in a multi-ethnic setting will be disappointed. And anyone who wants to avoid seeing the Queen of Tarts, Lynda Tabuya, will be similarly disappointed.

A day in the life of Sitiveni Rabuka is exactly as you’d expect. Noqu Kalou. Noqu Vanua. And for now, noqu Matanitu.

At home with the Resnicks. ” Sorry, we don’t have any beads or mirrors but would you like a cap to take home with you?”

I’m pretty sure RAMBO got some kickbacks from the good couple.

GD, digressing a bit, what happens to all of RABUKU’S cases and convictions now that he has indicated that he will be vacating the office that he has sullied.

    Blessed weekend.

Was that a Christian prayer at the end or a Jewish prayer?

On the Fiji water /tax holiday issue that keeps coming up, don’t the government still collect a sum for every litre taken? A source tax that was increased in the budget. Doesn’t that mean as one of the world’s biggest premium bottle water suppliers that Fiji water still creates quite a lot of income for the government?

It does not pay corporate tax and won’t for the next six years – the remainder of its tax holiday. Which is why the owners of every other company in Fiji that do pay tax aren’t at all happy.

He is obviously God’s gift to not only Fiji but to the world. What would Fiji do without him.
Just imagine where Fiji would be if he had not been around, if you know what I mean.
Blerry useless leech and nutcase. But the people like him. How many idiots are there in Fiji?

He served his purpose by legally getting rid of the Bai & Kai “axis of evil”. Many are happy with that.

Disappointing video not to see Aseri standing by Lynda’s side. Perhaps that only happens the Nicodemus way.

And so mouth watering for the 10 of 26 to observe those Cabinet scenes and be also partakers of their sins.

Does he still make his own vakalolo, using uronivonu dalo or “turtle fat” as the wanna be socialite social media influencer called it. The same ‘ influencer ‘ who was influenced or manipulated by the PAP leader in his election campaign to get him Indian votes. The Rabuka.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
