The Puppet with his iPad. Conclusive proof of the ineptness of the Prime Minister and his total dependence on the words fed to him by Qorvis and the AG. This interview with Sky News is an embarrassment for Frank Bainimarama and for every Fijian. Because we now know – if we didn’t know already – why he has always been so dependent on Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum for all these years and has resisted all attempts by the military and even his own family to get rid of him or at least reduce his influence.
The truth revealed in this disastrous appearance is that Frank Bainimarama is the ultimate hollow man – unable to function without the ventriloquist who pulls the strings and puts the words in his mouth either on paper, on autocue or the PM’s constant companion these days – his iPad.
I simply cannot understand why Qorvis and the AG would allow the Prime Minister to be humiliated in this way in front of a global audience of millions. The AG can be seen in the left background of this clip at 1 min 30 secs so there is no question that he played a major role in engineering this car crash. He knows that in a situation like this, the PM is totally out of his depth. So he appears to be deliberately throwing him into the deep end to expose his inability to speak without notes and to think for himself. Is it to increase the PM’s sense of insecurity so that he clings to the AG’s skirts even more tightly in the lead-up to the election next year?
I can only conclude that this is indeed the case – that the AG is now so sure of himself and his ascendancy that he doesn’t care how Frank Bainimarama comes across. And if he comes across as stupid, then it is confirmation to the Fijian people and the world that it is the AG, the puppet master, who is the brilliant one – the real leader of Fiji.
I am not alone in thinking that Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has descended into a form of madness with the absolute power he wields because of Frank Bainimarama’s patronage and now poses a danger not only to the country and its institutions but to the puppet on his lap. Those of the Prime Minister’s remaining friends and allies in politics and the RFMF should look closely at this video. Because it suggests that Frank Bainimarama’s biggest enemy isn’t in the ranks of the opposition but occupies the seat next to him in the parliament.
This was a very big “madua” and frankly quite embarrassing.
He can’t engage on an off the cuff interview on a subject matter which he supposedly has in-depth knowledge of at least that is what he tries to portray
He could have been really successful in the interview if he spoke from the heart with clarity and compassion about the climate crisis without the aid of an iPad filled with talking points and at times he evaded or really did not answer the questions that he was asked.
This interview really proves that he is a fake climate warrior there only to enjoy the perks of the office wine and dine flying first class at the expense of the Fijian Taxpayer.
Sa madua mada
Most embarrassing indeed!
The report was like a Form 3 essay to which the teacher must respond: “Good try, but please re-write and this time in your own words, using strong conviction and do not just take chunks from a text book”.
The reading standard is Form 2. The teacher would most likely have to arrange for more reading sessions with close coaching and possibly some elocution lessons.
Questions were not answered. They were too deep and thought provoking to handle. Let’s just ramble on and hope for the best.
Toe-curling response to how the money would be spent in Fiji and awkwardly embarrassing when Fiji’s climate policy was handed over to the Sky News interviewer hailing Fiji as the first in our region to have such a policy. A desperate move to appear smart and switched on.
The impression is that the ipad is a “safety/ comfy” object, highly dependent upon and completely lost without it.
Like you said, Mr Grubsheet, it has been quite obvious for ever, (his total and utter reliance on his AG), nevertheless it still “hurts” when you see it….again, like the reopening of an old wound and also maybe cringe, when you realise the world knows “our dirty little secret.” All the more reason for PAP not to do any “smear” and thus split the votes.
Frank dropped out from high school.
His best subject at Marist was Woodwork.
We need to revise our expectations of him accordingly.
God bless Fiji
A national embarrassment to the country and I knew this would happen when Aiyarse isn’t there with him. The poor old geezer himself can’t even think on his own two feet that his military connections and family members are so disappointed in him for not removing “Smartypants Kaidia” like they wanted him to.
A real utter shame that government itself just make us look stupid to the rest of the world.
Is this the same man who said there were a lot of uneducated people in Fiji?
