# AN URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL FOR INFORMATION ABOUT SALESI TEMO’S SHADOWY PAST

Posted on December 23, 2024 14 Comments

With the prediction by the prominent lawyer, Imrana Jalal, that the Acting Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, is about to be confirmed in the substantive position as head of the judiciary, it has become a national imperative to establish the veracity of the widespread rumours about Temo’s past before he entered the law.

There are allegations, among other things, that Temo was a nightclub bouncer and that he killed a man. There are also allegations of other alleged criminal conduct that must be aired in public and investigated before Salesi Temo is placed permanently at the apex of the judiciary in Fiji.

Please tell us in the comments section below – under the cloak of anonymity – what you know about Temo’s past. We already know that our Head of State – the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu – is a convicted criminal who allegedly impregnated a 15 year old girl. Is he now to be joined at the apex of the state by an outlaw and killer?

We already know that the Acting Chief Justice is an outlaw because of his violations of the Constitution, the supreme law. He is also open to suspension on a charge of misbehaviour for casting the DPP, Christopher Pryde, as a thief when Pryde’s superannuation was approved by two successive presidents. But did Salesi Temo also take someone’s life?

Grubsheet is not digging gratuitously for “dirt”. It is clearly in the national interest that we know everything there is to know about Salesi Temo before he is confirmed as chief justice. We are not going to get it from a supine and cowered mainstream media. So if it is true that his confirmation as chief justice is imminent, this is a last desperate attempt to at least begin the process of establishing the truth about Temo’s background.

Why hasn’t Grubsheet done this before now? Because the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, assured the Fiji Law Society a year ago that Salesi Temo would not be confirmed as chief justice. And seemingly under the influence of Temo’s relative and Rabuka’s chief – the President – the PM appears to have changed his mind. So much for the legal profession being able to trust Rabuka at his word.

If allegations emerge about any criminality on Temo’s part before he came to prominence, it is vital that this is exposed and investigated. And he must certainly NOT be confirmed in the position of chief justice while these allegations hang over him and until the truth is definitively established.

Please use the comments section below if you have any information that would assist us to maintain the integrity of the judiciary and uphold the rule of law in Fiji. Even what we already know on the public record is enough to exclude Salesi Temo from presiding over the judiciary. But is there more?

Why, for instance, does he appear to have tattoos on his hands? At the very least, they are incongruous with the horsehair wig and scarlet gown. But is there more rooted in Salesi Temo’s past?

POSTSCRIPT:

The Killer Judge story has been clarified by Jioji Savou as a case of mistaken identity.

It wasn’t Salesi Temo but another member of the judiciary. How comforting.

I don’t know who the “Change people” are. Are they like Donald Trump’s “Village People”?

Jiaoji Savou, whose Facebook presence reveals both a sharp mind and a great depth of knowledge about a lot of things and places…..he has just posted the answer to the question. No. Temo, who was an outstanding boxer in the university days, did not kill somebody…BUT another judge currently on the appeals court did throw a punch that turned out to be fatal. A Wellington pub brawl in which a group of Fijians who just happened to all be proficient boxers, were accosted by some drunks who bit off a lot more than they could chew.
In a comment he implies that there was previous inquiry by Aiyaz and CJ Gates, who thought it was overblown, as does he (Savou).

OK, I am no longer on Facebook, thanks to the Minister for Bonking and Weed. Very much appreciate your comment. I agree that Jiaoji Savou is a credible source. And I look forward to hearing from others.

I would have thought that with a shady background, being a complete idiot, accusing people of being a thief without eveidence, being a third-rate person in a Third World country, flaunting the law and breaching the Constitution on numerous occasions, being prejudiced and racist and most importantly being an iTaukei, all that makes him the ideal person for the job under this government. These are all very high iTaukei standards which the vulagi will never understand.
Just going on numerous other appointments made by this government.

I buggered off a long time ago baraca.
Just for your information (because you have your head firmly stuck up Rabuka’s a*rse), a lot of iTaukei are also buggering off “their land”.

If Santa Claus Temo gets the top job then it’s all over rover! Fiji will be eventually isolated in many aspects. This is something very critical that many of our leaders fail to understand. They’re obviously banking on a China to jump in with Aid, but that’ll be worse than 1987. Let’s hope that our neighbors Australia and NZ will open their doors to those seeking asylum when the proverbial hits the fan.

Biographical entries in Wikipedia enable valid qualitative comparisons of our leaders including those at the apex of Fiji’s Judiciary. Salesi Temo’s is nearly blank while the legendary (first iTaukei CJ) Sir Timoci Tuivaga’s is packed with remarkable details. Daniel Fatiaki has similar contents as Sir Timoci but is ruled out here since Salesi, Siromi and their stooges would classify Daniel as a non-iTaukei. So pitting Salesi with Sir Timoci is like comparing apples with apples; Daniel is an orange.

Wikipedia tells us that Sir Timoci and Daniel are both Marist Old Boys. However , no schooling details of Salesi are available. He was known to be among a batch of senior students expelled from QVS in the 70’s but given a second chance by the scholarly priests at Flagstaff. While the reason(s) for their forced departure from Vulinitu and eventual enrolment at Kaunikuila is not clear, it’s obviously to do with “misbehaviour”. Sounds familiar, eh?

Killer or not, Temo is incompetent and unsuitable for the role.

Digging up the past isnt important in Fiji, after all we have a pedophile for president and a terrorist for prime Minister.

In the past he has told the victims of rape in court “that they were asking for it ” by the way they dressed.Something that would cause uproar anywhere else in the Civilized world. Rape is rape.

Have to agree with the posts already made – Temo is an ideal candidate for the job and regardless of what dirt we are able to dig up, nothing is going to change the decision. Temo is a nationalist and racist PIG just like the rest of them. It’s obvious the President and Rambo are in cahoots. If Temo wasn’t the ideal choice for Rambo then why was Temo appointed Acting in the first place. It’s all a show by Rambo. Leung is too much of a pussy to do anything about it. He is just glad he has a job that pays him well after he got kicked out of Nauru and other Pac Islands.

So much for eradicating corruption, cronyism, nepotism, and making appointments based on merit. The only thing that has merit in all top job appointments is the fact that they are all itaukei incompetent buffoons who don’t know jack sh!t. They are happy to SUCK up and bend over backwards to please the masters on both knees.

A change in Govt will be interesting. Karma is like a bus, it may arrive late, but it will definitely arrive. And in Temo’s case, this incompetent baboon will get his just deserves when that day arrives.

Leung is in on right from the get go. Him and his ilk have never held real jobs nor done an honest day’s labor their entire sorry lives.

All have have lived high on the hog on public coffers and even gifted themselves 80% salary and benefits increases.

However, the happy season is upon us and its only proper to extend Christmas wishes to all of them.

That wish is may the fleas from a thousand camels infest their junk and may their hands be too small to scratch.

A coup maker and abuser of women and children as Prime Minister.
A child molester and abuser as President.
A woman beater as Education minister.
A drug user as Children’s minister.

With that on the record, anyone is welcome to be the Chief Justice. Even if he or she was a pedo or rapist, that’s fine too.

    This is the new Fiji.
    Everything is possible.
This is the standard that was so 1987.
You are welcome and watch another pig get the job.

Well…this PIG will be sworn in today as the Chief Justice. It’s all going to plan for Rambo and his circus monkeys.

Stand and watch as these clowns continue to molest the justice system and the country.

Now that Salesi Temo Kainacuata has been sworn in as Chief Justice that effectively closes the loop-hole to amend the 2013 Constitution. With the CJ clearly their man it would make Fiji an international laughing stock if government were to go to the Supreme Court for a legal opinion.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
