Can anyone tell the rest of us why the hell the Fiji Times would think this is the most important story in the world today by putting it on its front page?
Sitiveni Rabuka seems to be really losing it, among other things prevaricating for nearly two weeks over what to do about Lynda Tabuya’s sex and drug scandal and then deciding to defy the PAP’s Executive Council and retain her as Minister for Bonking and Weed.
In any other country, you would think that this would be the main topic of an interview with the head of government by a supposedly serious newspaper – hanging his own party out too dry. But instead we get this rubbish.
The man at the top is brain dead and so is Fiji’s supposed newspaper of record since 1869. Both totally gaga.
It's a no brainer says
Incredibly, it was reported in the Fiji Sun recently that he has not even found the time or energy, or felt it important to even speak with Lynda Tabuya about her position. Dead as a dodo.
Pete says
Well the caption and the photo are perfectly matched for once by fiji times.
Rabuka may still be breathing but his brain is dead for sure. Dead also are his promises to the people. He never had any shame or principles to bigin with so can’t call them dead.
And dead will be Fijis future if this moron continues to be PM. Aren’t there any men of principle who can stand up to this dumbo?
Rabuka warns against infidelity says
NZ Herald 2008 interview of Rabuka by Warren Gamble.
(when he wrote his autobiography)

Sack Tabuya says
He knows it’s an end to his career and hers.
He knows he won’t get a chance again to recover from yet another scandal. Play dumb and hope it all goes away.
Tabuya will never be PM.
Fiji Times eroded freedom of speech says
Fiji Times please ask where is the police investigation into Tabuya? Why haven’t you asked any questions about the matter. Why are you biased towards Tabuya and the PM.
Do your job Fiji Times.
You are being mocked the world over. You had a chance to speak to Mr PM Rabuka and you did a story about kava? Really?
You had a chance at freedom of speech that you could lose again at any time as Fiji’s future is not secure. 16 years and you fail to speak up for truth. The people are very disappointed. What could this exert favours to the PM and Tabuya. It will all come out.
Belinda says
Last week the PM accepted a new vessel worth millions donated by Australia. Yesterday, Australia donated another $15million to fix some of the problems at CWM. Over the course of the year Australia has donated direct budget assistance to the government in the hundreds of millions. Thousands of former Fijians living in Australian remit millions of dollars each month to Fiji.
If it wasn’t for Australia, I would think Fijians would be starving. And no, you cannot just say you will go to the village and start planting like in the old days. Because in the old days planting was not enough. We all know what happened in the old days in the cannibal isles to get some protein.
But what is the PM and his government doing about the economy apart from living by charity? This country must be the proudest charity case in the world. They are so proud to bask in glory when they receive charity. The PM even goes to the extent of dressig up like a despot as if he were from Zimbabwe. The DPMs proudly look at photo opportunities receiving charity.
What are the people of Fiji doing except for being grog-doped. Can’t they see these things. Are the people of Fiji stupid? Are their brains directly proportional to the size of the country?
Atleast the dodgy and geriartric PM seems to be acknowledging the country is full of grog-dopeys.
Citizens under duress says
People who are under dictatorships don’t enjoy your freedom. We have lived under the rule of 4th form graduates since 1987.
Sad observer scared for Fiji says
Poor education, hand out mentality, poor nutrition & health affects brain development & functioning to make for low motivation & work ethic, and easily lead by dogma & messiahs. Fijians underneath these disadvantages are good souls, but it’s hard for them to shine through all of this disadvantage to be good leaders and hard workers. What they need most too is good leaders & hard work.
Time to march says
When will the people of Fiji start marching on the streets regarding the Minister for Bonking and Weed. Now that they live in a “free” country, when will they exercise their right to show their concerns about this racist and prejudiced government? Where is the exuberance? Why is the opposition so quiet on the matter of the Minister for Bonking? Have they got skeletons in the closet too? The PM certainly seems to have some skeletons in the closet regarding this lady.
Speak UP!!! says
I have asked him the same thing. Fijians are way too patient. Well blink and 16 years passes you by. It’s time to march. If a higher standard is not insisted on, just think what it will be like… this is your children and their children’s future.
Wake up FIJI? We must let PM know this is not ok. We must get media attention, worldwide attention on this.
Bad Leadership says
We need a good, patriotic woman or man to leak the PAP subcommittee report and evidence.
Who’s game?
Fool me once says
What an idiot, next please.
Morally corrupt leaders in Fiji says
I don’t know about the rest of you but personally for me, I’m disgusted if Rabuka’s PAP-led Sodom and Gomorrah government cannot do right by its own MPs by practising good governance. I didn’t vote FFP nor support their poor governance over the past 16 years but what cheap hypocrisy coming from Rabuka and his morally corrupt government less than 2 years in power, doing a witch hunt on Bai and Khai. Seriously!
First, remember that drug use by a sitting Cabinet Minister engaging in extramarital sex with another sitting government ministers is a SERIOUS matter. You don’t delay decisions on such matters of national interest because it stains your reputation as a credible government.
Tabuya and Radrodro need to be investigated by Police if Rabuka still needs more evidence and disrespects his own subcommittee findings. Front up on TV together and publicly admit that they did not have sex during a government trip to Melbourne, Tabuya to publicly deny (yes or no; no grey areas) that she didn’t use illegal drugs on that trip. Then we can get video footage from the hotel to verify these statements. Many ways to skin a cat. This one’s a walk in the park for Australian and Fijian police.
Otherwise, stop trying to put other politicians in jail when your own side of the House needs to be cleaned up. MPs engaged in sex and drug scandal need to be investigated by Fiji Police and sacked. The complaint to the party is sufficient to launch criminal investigations if you lack the courage and decisiveness to act and do the right thing by the people of Fiji.
Disgusting to listen to these dirty politicians want to talk smart and preach to the choir as if their backyard is clean. Dou sa boi ca mai. Dukadukali. If you act as such in your private capacity, not anybody’s business. But you’re Cabinet Ministers and you took an oath to uphold the integrity of that institution.
The audacity to continue as if nothing happened. Some screws are definitely loose somewhere. #cavuka.
This level of arrogance is not normal and totally unacceptable for members of parliament anywhere.
LT is the great temptress says
People are going to the kava bars to escape the reality of the daily hard struggles and the high cost of living.
Even with the peanuts they are earning, might as well use it somewhere they can escape reality because those peanuts of loose change will buy what? Rubbish from the supermarket and end up with more frustrations.
At least for a few hours they can escape reality and dull the frustration the near daily slave labour at work at the kava bar with music, laughter and dopeness.
Lead by example says
At least those kava drinkers are paying for it out of their pocket Not on tax payers money trip trapping overseas on large allowances, A bible quoting AG, free trip to Israel, a weed & bonking minister still holding office, why should they plant they say we can find an easier quicker way to get enough money to live on yeah that white powdery stuff the country is now infused with
KaiViti says
This is the man who started all of this mess. He said that he has changed but he’s actions now speaks louder than the words he uttered around during the last two elections of 2014 and 2022. I do not support coup leaders and those that are associated with it. He seems to have forgotten about he’s promises he made after the general elections of 2022. We hardly see him delivering his speeches that he used to do after almost every fortnight or month. Hope that the people of Fiji will wake up. Even the NFP should look for someone else to marry or else their ship too will sink.
Fijians better get rid of coup people and whichever politician’s that are associated with it.
Ashamed says
More time spent in kava bars? Does this guy Rabuka even have a moral conscience ? Wants to come and preach to the people of Fiji about those who visit kava bars. His own security guards and his own kitchen staff for his Muanikau House know that his own house is full of unemployed drunkards starting from his daughter 48 year old Bulou Elena Rabuka who used to play netball for Fiji but is now just home and unemployed . She is half the time drunk and noisy keeping the PM’s household sleepless and awake when they should be asleep ! Tekivu mai Jerusalemi kemuni ! Nomuni staff sa ra veitalanoataka na Nomu Vuvale !
Lynda’s illegal drugs says
Investigate Tabuya!!!Can someone please complain to the police, please!!!
Kava Addiction says
I wonder how these politicians sleep at night knowing people are making a couple dollars an hour while they are living the high life. What have they sacrificed at all? Have they had reduction in pay, travel allowance?
And even then nobody goes out and demands higher pay. The hourly rate is not enough to live. How can anyone accept this? Not everyone can get a visa to leave and how sad to be trapped with no way to get ahead no matter what you do. So they figure might as well spend it and enjoy life now with what little they have. Instead of saying go plant more kava, how about don’t drink yourself into oblivion. How about advise against addiction. How about go home to your families. How about give something to look forward to.
Yes It’s an addiction like anything else but oh since it’s kava and cultural we can’t say that, can we. Because it’s cultural, we can’t point out that the balance is off… more time drinking kava than anything else. Well people are driving after drinking heaps of kava and is effected their reactions. But nobody is talking about that. Many people don’t work at all but drink kava all day. Maybe kava drinking is keeping people from being motivated to ask any questions of the govt. no wonder the govt a never suggest people should do it in moderation. Keep the people in a passive slow state, take away their motivation and then they won’t complain about how terrible we treat them. And don’t tell them that sitting too many hours on their but causes obesity and death.. just suggest they go grow it.
Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and heart attacks.. can all be helped or avoided by moving the body daily. Long stretches of kava drinking while eating processed bread and starches is killing people.
Political Prostitute says
Let’s see the men LT’s had extra marital sex with to launch her political agenda. She dreams of becoming Fiji’s 1st woman PM. (Nona arse sara, lol). Also those just because she can and did…. Let’s start with this list that’s already known within certain circles.
(six names redacted)
Ooh many more to name even within PAP. You’ll be surprised. Even that list is already one too many by anyone’s standards.
To these unnamed men, you know who you are, do the right thing or the world will read about you too.
To be fair to her, husband Rob left her for another woman, was married to and had kids with that other woman. Came back because he thought she was going to be Deputy PM when PAP wins.
God sees all. Vinaka Sodelpa. Because she trashed her former party during the election campaign (making fun of them as that small insignificant party, haha), there was no way for her to hold any significant position during the coalition negotiations. Fili and Siromi were the lawyers involved. She was set aside. If you see news of Siromi and Fili getting trashed in the media , don’t count this manipulative Jezebel out. She could be right there pulling her voivoi strings but more embarrassing moments coming her way. She just doesn’t know it yet.
It’s the way of the world.
You reap what you sow.
You con the innocent people to be your little pawns, payday is coming.
Drugs or kava Rabuka? says
Rabuka looks like the worn out and over used kava kosa. His brain is the same.
Nothing else to talk about.
How about the drugs his mistress Tabuya was getting high on in Australia.
I would rather people drink kava than get high on drugs.
Papa needs jog out of politics.
Calling Fred says
Can Fred the useless Fiji Times editor do a piece on drug abuse by Lynda Tabuya? We waiting.
Stanley Simpson to be stood down from his role. says
The calibre of journalism and respect has certainly fallen in Fiji.
Stanley Simpson writes following the Fiji Drua and Chiefs game on his open Facebook page…
“Show us first halftime highlights! Nobody wants to see that drone ring, we want to watch rugby, poke you gang’s ring.”
This is where it is all going wrong and for all wrong reasons. Our media do not stand an ounce of integrity. The sexual connotations to a forever kailoma living and talk is now inflicted through media so called role models. This is concerning. How are such demon humans still in control of the media! And he has daughters. Does he think before he writes and speaks?
#doomedmedia #disgusting
Dodo says
What whole load of crap from someone whose harbouring a druggie and sex-scandal of a Minister, instigating racial divide and casting a blind eye to corruption of his Ministers and senior officials who unbelievably stay on the job whilst investigations are ongoing.
How do you pick and choose which issues you highlight with the straight face?
People now know the con you are.
Time for you to go
Dang says
For a beggar nation and relying on handouts from foreign countries, the investments and hardwork of the vulagis they sure have audacity to say to go back to your country.
Like duhh you folks are so self-sufficient that you’d be able to survive in your own bubble, lol? May you resort to cannibalism again
No wonder all these good governance etc are hard to penetrate through your dumb brains. The quality of your discussions in parliament tells us about your lack of depth – dumb dodos
Raymond says
There is still evidence or elements of Rabuka’s dictatorship . In. his stubbornness of leadership.
Old habits die hard and Fiji suffers more under his leadership. So corrupt and more worse than BAINIMARA
Sin then go to church, repeat says
Too much to lose personally from yet another sex scandal.
He was only honest about his cheating when he was selling his book in which he said he owed it to the people of Fiji to be frank about his indiscretions. But now that he’s not selling his book be doesn’t owe the people to be honest about Tabuya or himself? He gets to decide where he owes people the truth.
He would rather look like a fool being stubborn and go down with the sinking ship like a crusty captain then do the lawful thing and and the obvious right thing.
Isn’t it ironic he was known for his cheating and hurt people among more brutal acts and now covers up the cheating of others when he gets another chance at leading.
Can anyone confirm if Tabuya is related to Rabuka. We saw a lot of nepotism in the past, what is the law on that.
Fiji's Tatti Times says
Anything is important to Fiji Tatti Times. Even Shamima’s face enlarged on 3/4 page is important. Someone pays for it. Oops Ausaid taxpayers do.
