In a stunning last-minute development, the rogue Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, has given the DPP, Christopher Pryde, 14 days to give cause as to why he should not be suspended for a second time for misbehaviour on a complaint from Nancy Tikoisuva, the Acting DPP who is leading a mutiny in the ODPP and has also referred her reinstated boss to FICAC.
Christopher Pryde suddenly cancelled his return from New Zealand to Fiji today to resume duties in Suva tomorrow so he can answer the renewed allegations against him of financial misconduct. He says he will need the next two weeks to gather documents that go back as far as 12 years to prove his innocence and cannot resume work at the same time as he fights the attempt by Tikoisuva and Temo to prevent his return as DPP.
Pryde’s statement is clear evidence of what Grubsheet reported yesterday of a conspiracy between the Chief Justice as head of the Judicial Services Commission, Nancy Tikoisuva as Acting DPP and Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner to thwart the Presidential order that the DPP be reinstated after he was exonerated by the judicial Tribunal that investigated Temo’s previous allegation of misbehaviour against him.
By Nancy Tikoisuva’s own admission, the fresh evidence is from the same file on the DPP that the JSC used to try to nail him the first time that Tikoisuva and those around her retrieved from the JSC after Pryde was exonerated. It took them just two days to find a “great deal of criminal conduct” that had not been pursued at the first Tribunal hearing. Which suggests that this whole exercise is a massive stitch-up and a shocking injustice.
At Salesi Temo’s hand, Christopher Pryde spent 21 months waiting for justice after he was suspended in April 2023, had his salary severed and was unable to afford a lawyer to defend himself, and the Chief Justice defamed him at the Tribunal hearing in his absence by falsely accusing him of being a thief.
There is only one word for what is taking place in the criminal justice system under Salesi Temo – corruption. It is the shameless corruption of our independent institutions of state to bend to the will of Sitiveni Rabuka‘s Coalition and support the indigenous cause. And it is time for the Fijian people to declare that enough is enough.
Whether we are indigenous or members of Fiji’s minorities, the integrity of our institutions of state and the maintenance of the rule of law is paramount if we are to be a functioning parliamentary democracy instead of a failed state captured by an elite and with a global reputation for being just another banana republic.
Another sad and shocking day for Fiji.

And what happened to this? The President of the Republic cast as a puppet whose word means nothing at the head of a tottering state.

Nothing should surprise the citizens of Fiji anymore when such a corrupt and inept government in control.
This was all a part of Santa Claus Temo’s attempts to prevent Pryde from returning as DPP.
The deafening silence of Rabuka and other prominent officials in the government is a very clear testament that they too do not want Pryde back. Where is the FLS? Where is clown face Leung? Where are the NGO puppets?
It is very apparent that they would rather have the alternative, Nancy, Rabuku, and the cabal to head one of the most important institutions in the country.
This is absolutely disgusting and Temo needs to be investigated.
When Rabuka hurriedly confirmed the villainess idiot Temo on Xmas eve 2024, the writing was on the wall. What this latest illegitimate administration has done should be a very clear warning to all Fiji citizens, and also a very clear deterrent to expatriates who are contemplating taking up employment in Fiji. There are two sets of laws currently in place. One for the itaukei elite, and one for ordinary citizens.
As an expatriate, you will not get any justice, especially if you are working with junior, or senior itaukei. This current cabal will see to it that justice is delayed so you will just cave in and leave, and you will basically have no legal recourse. This current case involving Mr Pryde should be an eye opener and a stark reminder that there is no rule of law in Fiji, and the government of the day has no competence to enforce the law as stipulated in the constitution.
What a sad state of affairs for our beloved country. My fear is that the worst is yet to come.
They will only stop the allegations after allegations and suspensions after suspension until they get what they want. They will free Barabas (treacherous Speight) yet want to nail a man (Pryde) proven to be innocent by a judicial tribunal. The witch hunt continues, but in this hunt it is the witches and evil sorcerers doing the hunting.
It’s plain what is going on.
The government does not want Pryde to return as DPP.
If Pryde does come-stop departure order will be immediate on arrival.
Judging from the racist CJs actions a stop departure order likley already in place.
Pryde not showing up Monday means they can fire him for absence without approved leave -AWOL.
That’ll end the angst and drama for CJ/AG/SLR/ODPP/justice baboon, baiman and many more skunks.
CP will not get a cent owed to him as back salary. If he does not report to work monday, his contract is terminated.
Nothing is beyond these racist dunderheads currently running amock.
If CP returns he’ll be hounded, harassed, arrested, suspended, and prosecuted for abuse of office/theft or whatever charges made up by the goons at ODPP and racist clown CJ. They will put him in jail. They will.
We’ve had military coups, civilian coups, political coups and now coup fever has spread to the judiciary – a corrupt judiciary with a weak and complicit Attorney General in Graham the ‘Eunuch’ Leung (his namesake Graham Davis is a lot of things but certainly not a eunuch, but I digress).
The legal fraternity in Fiji is now as corrupt as the political established with the likes of mad hatter Salesi Temo, the opportunist Richard Naidu taking full advantage of his connections with a senile and corrupt PM in Rabuka, and the sly and self- serving Bastard from Babasiga in Baiman, to milk the system and get rich at the expense of the taxpayer.
Incompetent and inept finance minister Baiman will go down as the worst NFP leader in history for many reasons, including how he betrayed his own people for a few pieces of silver. He’s a greedy bastard whose name will go down in infamy. He has read the writing on the wall, and his major aim is to milk as many benefits as he can before he is kicked out in 2026.
The cancer in the political system was inevitably going to spread to judiciary and we are witnessing that today.
Under this government there is no rule of law. There is just chaos and corruption, with more to come, so tighten your seatbelts for a hair raising ride!
Your first paragraph is such a comfort in these dark times.
Haha! Vinaka GD-humour helps.
Speaking of eunuchs, the singing stallion laments …what would I do with me… in the cane belt he’d be referred to as badia (neutered) bull.
Mr Pryde should have taken his money and run. Why would he return to that cesspool of corruption. It’s a toxic environment and it’s time to get out of Dodge, sir.
Horrendous despicable act by Temo.
When will Rabuka, Temo, Nancy Rabuku and others realise that with no rule of law in Fiji, tourists from Australia and NZ will soon stop going.
Christopher Pryde and the New Police Commissioner are both hard working, honest, and utter professionals.
They will clean up the crime problem.
Look forward to seeing him go back Feb 3.
Otherwise, word of mouth is a very powerful marketing tool here in Australia especially when friendly co workers come up to me and ask.
What’s Fiji like mate for a holiday in July?
My reply (like most of my fellow Fijian Australian peers): Mate it’s not safe….
Same here in New Zealand.
Imagine sitting in a meeting with some great leaders at a big 4 company and someone mentioned that she is taking her family to Fiji for a holiday. The eye rolling was so obvious followed by a Pacific laughter of why would you even bother putting your family in harm’s way.
New supporting Police Commissioner from NZ should take note. He will be ditched before he knows it. He is too white for the corrupt folks in Fiji. Why even bother!
I see write ups in Fiji Times saying that there are so many investments. Yes, there can be good and bad investments. Many are now finding Fiji a perfect place to invest because they can get away with anything. With a weak police system and now legal system overall it is easy to bribe anyone.
I think the most constructive solution for Pryde is to resign. The tribunal is a quasi judicial body meaning functioning as half court and not as fully functional as criminal court. In tribunal he got exonerated not necessarily it could be same acquittal in a proper criminal law court depending on the evidence. With the new allegation if the matters proceeds to criminal trial in a fully fledged criminal court and if proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt by FICAC on the allegations there will be custodial sentence for him. After all Pryde said that he can’t afford a lawyer given his pay is suspended. Best way out is to say “moce” Viti and begin a renewed career in New Zealand. Food for thought.
Why should he resign ? So that Nancy, who’s making the allegations can have his job?
He should fight the allegations and not be bullied by these corrupt low lifes.
On the other hand, going to prison in Fiji is not an appealing thought. Which is the threat CJ is suggesting without saying so.
Too many impotent self-important incompetent clowns driving the clown car to the cliff.
Agree
How else will they retain their jobs..they’re so useless that smaller island states in the pacific can’t employ them without them screwing up , just look at the current FICAC boss, was caught swimming with a judge. How much lower can they go…Let’s start betting. So many twists and turns in this non stop brutal drama.
Swimming with a judge is not the half of it. The vasua was fishing for dairo.
Fair enough.
While settling back in and sorting out the mess in the Office of the DPP, CP needs a guarantee from the PM, President and RFMF he will not be subject to any spurious new investigations or any stop order on him leaving Fiji.
This is also the moment when the enablers of this coalition government – the National Federation Party – ought to let everyone know where they stand.
Do they go along with this disrespect of the judicial tribunal and President who cleared CP of the allegations against him and invited him to resume his duties?
Lawyers quibbling over whether fresh charges amount to double jeopardy is one thing, but disrespect for the decisions of their eminent judicial peers and the President another.
Enough, let’s move on everyone.
Fiji has truly become a banana republic, a truly sorry end of affairs.
No matter how bad this gets and how dim the future looks, there is one thing any self respecting Kiwi will do and that is fight to the bitter end when forced against a wall by people whose main agenda is to spout lies and hate against them.
Kiwis have a solid reputation for standing up for themselves, their family and friends when unjustly attacked by people with malice.
As a nation, they stand tall and proud and will never back down when in the right. Christopher Pryde will prevail and get true justice for himself. Then in his own time and after getting what he is owed and defeating these scheming crooks, he can tell this overwhelmingly corrupt and morally bankrupt pack of lowlifes where to stick their job!!
Where is the freedom in Fiji that so called coalition spoke about? Bloody fools in no man’s land. They are far worse than FFP regime.
Rabuka and his disciples will have a dedicated place in hell. How rotten one’s soul needs to be to portray such an act of foolishness.
Vote them out at the next election. Roads, water, electricity and infrastructure is dead struck during his impotent regime. The younger generation are the worst idiots who voted them in.
Someone needs to call Biosecurity on them. This lot is filled with termites eating them from inside.
All the drama and backstabbing being done under the so called “noble banner blue”…which flutters over the racist banana “republic”.
Not a supporter of the FF government that brought in Pryde but the lack of professionalism of the ODPP officials (minimum basic level), and the deafening silence of the Coalition Government are testament to the high level of rot and corruption of these second-tier politicians gracing our corridors of power.
Pryde should not have backed down but use international media to highlight his return to Fiji and blast these shameless thugs, pretending to be high-level government officials (including that pretender of a FICAC Commissioner that slept with the presiding judge on her case (phew!!!) back to the hairy bushes they crawled out from.
Corruption. Quid pro quo. You scratch my hairy backside, and I scratch yours.
Any lawyer worth his or her salt going to do something about this grave travesty of justice??
Fijians should not recognize the ODPP, all those having court cases should boycott by not attending. There is no rule of law in Fiji. People should just do as they wish, the government has lost its legitimacy.
Technically, Nancy is not the Acting DPP. So yes, people can boycott their case.
Fijians must unite now. Take the streets and be vocal. Organise protest marches now. Why is Labour and Unity sitting quiet? We need action now.
Not so. Under s.117 (4) of the Constitution there can be an acting DPP where the real DPP is not in Fiji. As Christopher Pryde is in New Zealand at this time they could appoint an acting DPP. See below:
(4) The President may, on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission following consultation by it with the Attorney-General, appoint a person to act as the Director of Public Prosecutions during any period or during all periods, when the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is vacant or when the Director of Public Prosecutions is absent from duty or from Fiji or is, for any reason, unable to perform the functions of office.
As for the actions of the incompetent CJ and his lackeys at the ODPP they are a joke and reflect two things Racism and Revenge by those people. It is clearly obvious they seek to prevent the return of Christopher Pryde by any means.
Their actions show just how just how low they are willing to take the standards of the legal system in Fiji.
Rabuka and his government have no control over the governance of independent institutions and the ministers, who are more concerned with their own survival rather than the betterment of our people.
The circus going on in ODPP led by the Acting DPP Nancy is deplorable and shameful. It is being done to tarnish Pryde’s character and avoid his return to the office. Temo is definitely biased and will support Nancy and will be more concerned and desperate in safegarding his own position.
Rabuka must act now to avoid being dictated by Nancy, Rabuku, and Temo. They need to be sacked immediately.
What an honourable email from Pryde. I expect nothing less from a man of his high calibre.
Nanise and Jone, learn.
Learn from this man how to keep calm and carry on.
Learn what not to say.
Learn that Nanise is not an Acting DPP. That title she is carrying right now is null and void.
That is the ultimate treason that someone is portraying to be the Actinv DPP openly and nothing is done.
Biman et all and all under FICAC review, learn.
Learn how this man humbly takes another 2 weeks off so he can compile evidence. He is not fighting or dodging the system that is beyond repair. He is simply respecting processes.
Learn from his mannerisms that he is not attacking but humbly apologising to the people of Fiji. You swines will come no where to his remarkable behaviour and values.
Mr Pryde, many Fijians stand with you.
And please do know that after you have once again cleared your name out of this new mess do decide to leave Fiji. This country is made of cannibals. The indigenous people of this country are entitled racists. Do think of your own wellbeing and that of your dear family and never think of this country again. Their Bula smiles are there to sell happiness to make money. They have sold their souls long time ago.
Many have left and have never returned, even when they were born there. Do the same. I for one owe you gratitude, Mr Pryde.
Come see the violence inherent in the system!
What have the Romans ever done for us? I ask you!
This insane move by Salesi Temo et al may be enough to precipitate VIOLENCE by a very frustrated public who find the normal lawful processes so corrupted and ineffectual.
The Fijian public, both iTaukei and Fiji-born from other honored racial heritage, are really screaming ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Resign NOW, CEASE & DESIST!, get out NOW you corrupt evil pretenders to Fiji government who have stolen and crippled the wealth of our nation!
The military must step in and arrest Temo, Rabuku and Tikoisuva. They are a threat to national security and unity.
Mark my words, this will get dragged and dragged until his contract term ends and that will be the end of it.
If Pryde has to show cause, why isn’t Mali Mali suspended – it’s because Pryde doesn’t go swimming in his birthday suit
GD you have to get an account on Tictock.
It is one of the few platforms that still allows free speech.
You have to have a major say come 2026. I voted for the coalition reading your articles mate. You have to get the truth out to as many people as possible. Fijians have become numb to incompetency and the thuggery of the Biman Rabuka coalition.
It is time to awaken the masses.
I would love to see you move to a TikTok platform too Graham. You will get more reach, even though you prefer this quieter audience
One rule for the kaivitis and another for the vulagis.
If the same rule were to apply fairly in a true democracy, we would have had Barbara Malimali, Siromi, Temo, Nancy, Rabuku, Tomasi Bainivalu, Seremaia Waqainabete, Vosarogo, Tabuya, Aseri…and the other imbeciles suspended and terminated by now.
But no, this is the land of the chosen baboons whom God speaks to directly.
Karma is like a bus, it may arrive late, but it will definitely arrive. I can’t wait for that day when Karma takes these f**kers for a one way ride to HELL.
They just don’t want a white guy. They want a native Fijian at the position. And that’s how the independent nation of Fiji functions.
I don’t agree with the way Christopher Pryde’s issue had been handled beginning from when he was first suspended.
I also don’t agree with the way Christopher Pryde was sucking up to Khaiyum and Bainimarama following the 2006 coup where he was appointed to several positions of power in that illegal regime and made to obey whatever orders he received from Khaiyum and Bainimarama.
A lot of former politicians and civilians alike were harmed and killed by the last regime when Pryde was SG and later DPP but he failed to bring the last government and their cronies to justice.
While this is clearly a case of tit for tat of supporters of last government and the current one, including the frustration that had been building up by the voters against the current government, I do not wish to see Pryde back in the Director position nor see his name dragged in the mud, if indeed there is no credible reason for this new twist.
Whatever it maybe, this is another example of an individual who supported the illegal takeover of the Qarase government, aided and abetted the Bainimarama regime policies and seems to be hailed as a martyr by those who opposes the policies and corrupt activities of the present government.
Karma is definitely a b”@$h!!!!
“Harmed and killed”? Who? Christopher Pryde actually defied Frank Bainimarama and prosecuted the killers of Vilikesa Soko against Bainimarama’s wishes.
I was there and witnessed Pryde’s courage in standing up to the PM when he had promised that his men who tortured Soko by shoving a baton up his arse would never face justice. Christopher Pryde brought them to justice. So your account of his record is highly selective and to suit your own political purposes.
It is about having a DPP who faces down the prime minister and government of the day and refuses to be intimidated when there is evidence of wrongdoing. Pryde has done that on multiple occasions, most recently when he refused to bow to pressure from Sitiveni Qiliho acting on behalf of Frank and Aiyaz to prosecute Biman Prasad over the Taniguchi affair.
In Pryde’s judgment, there wasn’t enough evidence to satisfy the usual criteria of the likelihood of securing a conviction and whether the prosecution was in the public interest. It was in direct defiance of the wishes of Biman’s political opponents in FijiFIrst. So to suggest that he has been an instrument of repression simply isn’t true.
Nothing to say. Graham, are you seriously telling me you could see CP sliding back into his job? I thought you were foolish to assume this would occur but minded my tongue. You advocated. We can see it’s wrong but .. you cannot reason with the native Fijians. I just wonder why you waste your time etc
CP can look after himself. Why would he want to even interact with that regime???
Best to advocate to show the world Fiji’s poor record to stop the kere/ begging for funding. Then see where they land..
Australia & NZ both need to stop aid until Fiji can prove itself in so many respects. Who is funding these salaries? The increased VAT???
I don’t have the same jaundiced view about the iTaukei. I know many iTaukei who I worked with in government who are smart, capable of making it anywhere in the world ( and they do) and have a great deal of integrity.
I happen to know that some of them are appalled by what is happening in Fiji. They may be too humble in the best traditions of iTaukei society to push their own agendas in the viavialevu age in which we live. But they are the backbone of the nation and the best hope we have of working together as one nation to take Fiji forward.
I’m not going to embarrass them by naming them here. But they are the best of the iTaukei and a great credit to the nation as a whole. I only wish they got more attention than the “look at me, look at me” characters in the current pantomime that passes for national life.
Glad to hear you say this. There’s a lot of anguish involved in witnessing the destruction of a culture which actually has so many unique and wonderful characteristics….which are often invisible to neighbours who’ve never learned their language. And vice versa.
I wish I could tell the full true story, from a certain remote Vanua Levu village,of the escaped girmit who was caught by the villagers,a long time ago, starving and raiding their gardens. He thought they were going to eat him. It was explained to him that he could live there the rest of his life, which is what happened, gradually losing his unknown Indian identity. He has many descendants, and this would be their story to tell, and to identify the village concerned.
Yes, Native Fijians are angels.
He won’t be the first, or the last kaivavalagi to have to face the reality of the complete destruction of everything he worked for in Fiji. He’d better write it all off right now…if he chooses to write a book it might be very interesting. I’m sure his legal mind has considered other options.
Should have read the room a long time ago. Sad but true for a lot of us vulagi.
I agree with you Graham. There are iTaukei both within and outside Fiji who are outstanding. I don’t know why Fiji has never managed to put these people in charge both inside and outside of government.
But time is running out for Fiji, Graham. I actually believe time has run out for Fiji. Large numbers of itaukeis are migrating for better lives in NZ and Aus.
Rabuka’s small number of extremist but powerful ethno-nationalist taukeis also don’t seem to realise that there was no influx of Fiji Indians from Australia and NZ who went to Fiji to contribute to her development during the Bainimarama Khaiuym years over 2006 to 2022.
How many Kaindias sold their assets in Aus and NZ and returned to Fiji to set up businesses?
Zilch!
What we are witnessing in Fiji today is the start of the end. The next Fiji Coup will draw itaukei versus itaukei with more bloodshed and death. Could it reach the levels of Southern Sudan today? No, but it will mean educated and skilled itaukei will leave Fiji.
The end is starting….
No question about it. When there is no funding available ( and it’s going to happen), how will these greedy idiots be able to pay their salaries? This is exactly how countries collapse. Everything has a limit, and this pathetic individuals have surpassed the limit.
Now we are coming to terms to realise why are FICAC is so inefficient. They are putting all resources to investigate and dig graves so that the acting DDP can remain head of the department.
Chief justice should have immediately struck out the case citing why the evidence not presented in the 21 month tribunal proceedings.
To me the case is about power, greed, nepotism.
The nation is awaiting anxiously on important cases such as election vote counting glitch because the outcome may change the composition of seats in parliament. This is more important than digging graves.
What the acting DPP has demonstrated is the inefficiency within FiCAC . They had 21 months to produce all evidences but they deliberately withheld from the tribunal so that they remain in power by lodging another case.
The president of Fiji and the prime minister has to stop this nonsense and choose a more intelligent and competent person for the DPP position. The current person demonstrated that she is not the proper person.
They will not
Its got nothing to do with being a Bainimara appointee. There have been senior civil service staff told resign or be sacked who were appointed by Rambuka in his first term of office as well. Now its all about the wrong skin colour for the job .Pure naked ugly racist aggresion.
Nancy Drew decided to wake up just after government spent a considerable sum on an earlier investigation.
If she had been sharper, the so called allegations would have been compiled earlier.
Grubsheet needs to be on TikTok!
Please Graham🙏🏽
You can turn off the comments section and let it be shared.
More Fijians are on TikTok today than Facebook itself I think. And the page can also be shared on Facebook.
We can surely help you set up if you need.
