Come on GD. Cut out the hyperbole.

It was a defeat on the floor of parliament following a democratic process.

We should be celebrating the triumph of democracy, not casting it as a ‘humiliation’.

If you keep referring this as a ‘humiliation’ then you will be provoking ethno-nationalist forces into mobilising against the vulagi kai India.

Be careful what you wish for.

I take that to be a threat. You should be ashamed of yourself.

If there is any violence against Indo-Fijians arising out if this, then you are inviting a coup. Because the Constitution requires the RFMF to ensure the wellbeing of every Fijian and if that is threatened, it has a constitutional obligation to intervene.

Whichever way you look at it, this was a humiliation for the Prime Minister and the government as a whole. And it certainly spells the end of the NFP, which joined this effort and will pay the ultimate political price with the minorities for having done so.

Biman Prasad is as good as finished.

No its not a threat. I am just calling as it is in Fiji.

It will give succour to those ethno nationslists who have always believed that Fiji is not ready for a parliamentary democracy. They believe in rhe paramountcy of Fijian interests.

Where to from here? I think the Indian community will be subject to more calls to ‘go back to India’ etc.

So be careful how you spin this story.

Learn the lessons of history. Be vigilant in what you say and do.

Let me remind you who got Fiji its independence from the British. It was the Indians who lived in Fiji and abroad.

So you think a “go back to India” worries us? No, it doesn’t.

Get real and grow a pair.

So where were the Indians of Fiji when the enemy were at the gates in 1943?

      • Baiman the church mouse roars says

        March 11, 2025 at 10:07 pm

Not so fast, GD: Baiman is on the warpath – he’s on Facebook vowing that “it does not end here”, and that “they managed to save the constitution by just one vote but for how long?”. He warns that “the end is near” and to take the matter to the Supreme Court and “declare the constitution null and void” to end what he describes as a “constitutional dictatorship.”

Suddenly this coward has found his voice but when it comes to Indo-Fijian issues he’s as timid as a church mouse.

Democratic process??!! WTF. You must be smoking some strong shit. Buying votes and paying off MPs to cross the floor!! It’s called corruption and bribery which is a norm under this racist govt. Tricking people into thinking that once they vote for this they will get a constitution which is fair? F**k that. We’ve heard all this bullshit before. F**kwits like those who voted for will sell their own wives, mothers and sisters in return for a Ministerial post and $$$. Thats the level that some of these corrupt politicians have stooped down to under Rapist Rabuka.

This bullshit amendment will never happen. And neither will attempts to gain nationalist itaukei supremacy at the expense of other minorities. The low life chiefs can go back to their caves and or Africa…where they originally came from.

GD, it’s time. It’s time to cut loose people who threaten and promote violent rhetoric here.

Let these c**ts go elsewhere with their violent rhetoric. Which they do anyway in more explicit language in other forums using different pseudonyms.

Such threats of violence is not freedom of speech. Freedom of speech comes with responsibility and equal respect for all.

The likes of “Wacol” are in fact professional trolls plying their hate and espousing violence on the government payroll. These c**ts are civil servants doing the bidding of the coalition by promoting uncivil conduct on taxpayers sagamoli.

The position that it is better to let them spew hate and make threats of violence on here because the readers can have a pulse of entho-nationalist positions doesn’t hold anymore.

We all know the views of these bastards. By continuing to give space to them, this forum can be seen to be aiding and abetting this call for thuggery.

Grubsheet readership have more nuanced points of view. Most visit the site for accurate truthful information and contribute views/opinions without open threats of violence.

It is time to cut off their oxygen. They no longer deserve the freedom to trumpet BS and ramp up their threats here. Leave us regular people alone.

That is my story and I’m sticking to it. Sa rauta sara!

On a different note, it is disgusting to see in parliament Rabuka and his lackeys continue to wear military-issued ties. What does wearing military attire mean in a democratic setting? What is rabuka trying to say–that the military is on his side?

Flucks like “Army vet” and “Wacol” will be quick to defend the ties as personal choice or whatever.

If that’s the case, or whatever excuse there might be, then wear camouflage too, for goodness sake.

Heck, Rabuka can wear his full military clown suit for that matter. He is known for carrying a ready pair in his vehicle.

I take your point. I left that particular comment up to signal that threats are being made and it is intolerable, not to incite violence myself. We need to see the whites of their eyes. Or should I say the bloodshot eyes of these dope-addled kava junkies.

I have withheld approval for a number of other more extreme comments from both sides. But I’ve also allowed some of this bizarre obsession with circumcision to be aired, again just to highlight how crazy some of these people are.

It is a fine line, I know. But as with the saying “knowing your weaknesses makes you stronger”, knowing your enemies makes it more likely that they can eventually be defeated. I will be more mindful of your comment in future. Vinaka.

Naga (snakes) don’t grow a pair. They grow fangs.

Mr Rinesh Sharma bared those fangs as only a naga can.

Despite yours truly having a good go at Mr Rinesh Sharma and his 3 other buddies, it is only fair to take my hat off to this young man’s brave awakening and then have the gumption to follow through to vote ‘no.’

That is no small feat. Mr R Sharma might have realized the quartet backed themselves between a rock and a hard place. Damned if voted yes, damned if he didn’t.

He had the foresight (even if a belatedly) to think his postion through. And decided to go it alone. It appears the man has the guts to deal with the consequences–losing out on more money and earning the ire and displeasure of the coalition clowns.

Mr Sharma may not have been born in 1987. However, he has cut the devil gata (snake) of 1987 down a peg or two.

That said, let’s hope the new-found fangs don’t fall off too soon and Mr R Sharma morphs from a naga to a toothless tiger.

Sitiveni “Dogla” I gave myself the authority to do the Coup, Rabuka must resign and call an election.

He has done nothing for raising the living standards of Fijians. Instead this dogla has been busy installing the GCC, increasing his own pay, getting paid enormous travel allowances, buying off opposition members, sending his enemies to jail, corrupting the judiciary, creating a highly paid government, and doing nothing, absolutely nothing for ordinary citizens.

This defeat means he does not have any mandate to govern let alone change the constitution and he cannot dodge his way through legal loopholes to have his merry way that he dreamed about in 1987.

Once a racist dogla, always a racist dogla.

      Hey Ben Chod.

I assume that by referring Rabuka as a ‘dogla’ that you are an uncircumcised idol worshipper who has no respect for the indigenous inhabitants.

That’s no way to live in a multiracisl society.

You speak of a multiracial society after “assuming” idolatry and a lack of genital mutilation – which is an odd fixation by the way

How has the standard of living improved for ordinary people (60% of which are iTaukei) under 15 months of Coalition rule?

When so many of our people are in poverty, why has this Government been distracted? Where are the reforms and change that promised things would be better for us?

Surely there is no greater sign of respect for the people than actually thinking about their betterment and questioning a Government that is clearly falling short on promises, performance and priority

No wonder the gender based violence in this country by the indigenous is through the roof. No wonder your own children are sexually abused more than other people. Just for once stop and think what you all carry in your head. I bet this is the same language your children must hear at home from you and then go investigating in real life all the types of things you spew.
These men need a special sort of therapy and mental health support. Disturbing and scary.

  13. Rabuka the writing is on the wall !! says

    March 12, 2025 at 10:12 am

Rabuka and unfortunately his sidekick, Lynda Tabuya, are experts when it comes to bribing people to support them.

After the last election, Rabuka sends in his cousin, Lomaloma, who’s PAP, to pretend he is Sodelpa and was urgently elected to represent Cakaudrove West at the last board Meeting of Sodelpa where they finalized the last negotiations on which party Sodelpa was to join and form government.

Imagine Lomaloma gets to the Southern Cross Hotel and sleeps there .As soon as the hotel conference room is open at 6am, he plonks himself there before the Sodelpa security arrives .The rest is history. Lomaloma’s vote won PAP the government and sealed the fate of FFP!!

After that meeting, Lomaloma was never seen again. Never at any Sodelpa Board meeting. So you see Graham- the formation of government was stolen by PAP! Sodelpa GS, Lenaitasi Duru, will confirm this and so will the Board members at the Southern Cross that fateful morning. It’s people like Ro Teimumu who also got tricked by Rabuka and PAP. Promising her she would become President of Fiji!

    Treachery is in Rabuka’s DNA!

The lesson for PAP is this. You are being dealt with. The prayers of all Fijians is to be delivered from criminals like your lot.

Well done Ritesh! The people have spoken !

Yes you are right. People knew when Bai talks he will meet what has been agreed on. Based on that alone a significant number of people in the Sodelpa Management Board agreed to join FFP.

Ro Teimumu Kepa changed her vote in the last Board Meeting before the formation of government as well as she got sucked into believing the lie by Rabuka to become the President after.

Sodelpa should purge its ranks of PAP fifth elements before the 2026 elections so what happened after the 2022 elections does not happen again.

    • PAP stole the Government so you’ll get what you Deserve!! says

      March 12, 2025 at 2:14 pm

PAP is filled with snakes and bullies ! I know of the people who even used Mrs Leba Qarase to bully Sodelpa to vote for PAP.

People like Radrodro should speak up and share what was done to his car and his home. He woke up to his tyres slashed and human shit all over his porch with his dog dead! The warning was clear. Vote for PAP or else!

Same was done to few other Sodelpa members. But people like Tanya Waqanika and Anare Jale and that fake wife of his decided to go to PAP because they know Frank would not have believed their BS.

As for Ro Teimumu, she called Rabuka a snake during the board meeting and then changed her mind when they offered her the presidency. Little did she understand they would never grant it to her before the Tui Cakau.

That’s the sad truth and this is where PAP has taken Fiji. Once were bullies and criminals and will always be.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
