Her defense is that she has been targeted because she’s a woman. She’s targeted because all evidence point to the fact that she was involved in drugs and an extra marital affair with a fellow minister. Denying it, covering it up and playing the victim is worse then committing the offense.

Anyone has CCTV footage from the hotel to shut her up.
Expose her Sir for the whole world to see..

      @ Bonk

      You’re absolutely correct!

Her defence in clutching the gender card, has nothing to do with the FACT that the weed & bonking sexapade did take place in room 233.

No, the manipulative MP is drawing everyone’s attention to the double standard that’s being applied to the two genders when it comes to these trashy, adulterous behavior.

Male MPs routinely get away with it (without so much as a slap on the wrist), ala PM Rabuka’s infamous Kama Sutra at the Vatuwaqa Golf Club. So why is the spotlight beamed on her and not at the guys as well, she laments.

That’s what she’s getting at and while that’s a valid point, it’s still unacceptable in my view – they just all need to go if Fiji’s August House has to clean itself of the sleazy muck that these substandard SWINE MPs (including those from the past), have wallowed in at the public’s expense. This filthy, vakasisila, vicious cycle needs to stop!

      You said it.

Yet we did not arrive here by accident. What we’re seeing today is the SUM of all the immoral shenanigans, corruption and downright dishonesty indulged in at national leadership level since 1987 (at least). That’s spanning over three (3) decades…

Lessons have clearly NOT being learnt (hubris) since those who viewed national leadership (and by extension, power and it’s usual trappings) as their god-given entitlement, are the very “fraudulent, corrupt ones” guiding their chosen proteges.

So the cycle continues… it’s business as usual, jockeying for positions (in light of the political maneuverings that are currently taking place…)

So what flickering flame of hope did Fiji imagine that things would change for the better (and to be fair, “in small yet steady steps”) following the last general elections, given the unnecessary scandal after scandal that have been erupting ever since?

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
