The Prime Minister says you can “seek redress” if you think you’ve missed out on a government job or been removed on the grounds of ethnicity.
And how do you do that, Fiji? By going to the Prime Minister himself to lodge a complaint. Yes, he will decide if you’ve been given the vudi, not some independent body. So what kind of redress is that?
We know that across the civil service and the institutions of state, iTaukei are being fast-tracked into positions at the expense of other ethnicities. Some people like the sacked Assistant DPP, Elizabeth Rice, have actually been told they were being removed for racial reasons – in her case because she is “white”.
Silly, Elizabeth. Why is she bothering to sue the state for unfair dismissal when all she needed to do was go up to the PM’s office and join the queue? A cobo and a “yalou vinaka, Prime Minister” and she’d be back at Gunu House in a flash and the illegal ponce who sacked her would just have to wear it. Look! Up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s a flying pig!
There is also something distinctly perverse about the Prime Minister quoting the provisions of the 2013 Constitution guaranteeing merit-based appointments when Sitiveni Rabuka has so openly flouted the Constitution whenever it suits him.
This guy thinks we are as stupid as he is – all muscle because of his hours at the gym but bereft of political acumen and a moral compass and going steadily gaga.

Merit? What a load of crap. Were these appointments on merit: Sales Temo, John Rabuku, Alipate Qetaki, Barbara Malimali, board appointees of the failed Coalition partners, and countless others.
This is the same guy who said there was no formal complaint lodged against the Kadavu Kalavo despite all the evidence presented. He is not aware of ministers facing a FICAC probe. He doesn’t know why the Acting SoE has not been appointed. For goodness sake what does he know then!
He is good at playing dumb because it comes naturally to him.
It’s also obvious that Baimaan the coward has got not courage to speak out. Gavoka is just glad he made it in and is enjoying looting the economy – where else can you get a free flight to the holy land at taxpayers expense.

The strategy is this: In this game of political football play foul and break the rules. Also make sure the Referee and the TMO is hand picked for your agenda. And set up a complaints resolution tribunal – the PM, and other institutions.
This is the real crux of the strategy – there is such an overwhelming case load for the complaints tribunals to handle that the complainants give up standing in the long queue. The system breaks. But maintain there is an adjudicator to resolve disputes and this makes the game a fair and just game….and the followers will clap and cheer for this beautiful game! Vinaka saka PM.

So April 2024: Te Radar could revisit Suva and find the PM at the Golf club again! If the PM is not found on the greens, Mr Radar should go to the nearest Gym and surely he will find the PM there for a follow up interview 12 years after the first !!
In village life, using all your family and friendship connections to gain favour is a survival skill that is revered. In a democracy, it’s called nepotism and while no democracy is perfect, the goal of proper governance is to constantly seek and improve systems to stamp out nepotism. When nepotism is used to advance one race over another (or others), it becomes a frightening process of ethno-nationalism that will destroy Fiji if allowed to continue. To the elite itaukei, who are gaining favour, they can only see the short-term gain for themselves. They see it as redress after years of unfairness, and their chance to gain riches. This sense of entitlement isn’t paired with the work ethic necessary to benefit themselves or the wider community. Without proper systems and long-term sustainable planning, any riches gains will be squandered and only the elite will benefit in the short term. The Coalition and their elite supporters have missed a golden opportunity to seek redress by working hard to foster systems of proper governance that will improve the lives of all, including the disadvantaged itaukei. The Coalition is completely oblivious (or don’t care) about the long-term impact of degrading all of these systems. Perhaps they have gotten to a point where they know they won’t be in government for long, so are just living the life and trying to promote as many of their own kin as they can before it all falls apart.
Get out of Fiji if you have the means. Even if you have to sit in immigration office lines all night.
Australia and NZ are welcoming hard working Fijians with open arms. Secure yours and your children’s future.
Otherwise someday some clown sitting in government office will say “seek redress if you think your child has been treated unfairly”.

Rabuka is certainly arrogant and has not learnt any lessons at all. His carefully crafted trapping of the back bencher AR with his lover girl Ms Bikini to deprive him of leadership has obviously failed and it must be worrying for him to see AR being unanimously voted in by the Sodelpa Management Board yesterday to replace Blinky Bill at the helm of Sodelpa.
AR is known for his sympathy towards Indo Fijians and people of mixed race . He is an Accountant after all and works well with those who contribute towards Fijis economy via the business community .
Therefore being a figures person he must be contemplating now as he heads Sodelpa, how to get the party as quickly as he can to the polls whilst PAP is down and out on its bum bum with no clear strategies to lead effectively in sight !
If Sodelpa makes the right moves, they may just create a major upset at the polls ! The important lesson is never to do it with FFP! They stand much better chance on their own and if discussions around the grog bowl is true , that’s exactly what AR intends to do with the backing of his paramount chiefs of the Kubuna confederacy .
The Turaga Qaranivalu whose already written numerous letters in the last month to Rabuka ( following the Naitasiri Provincial Council meeting decision in which it was decided that Govt be asked to reinstate AR as Minister for Education) knows the CBM block well, especially Rabuka whom Rt Inoke has shared to his close confidants to be the culprit behind the 2000 coup who left Speight and others waiting after he got cold feet and unable to finish the mutiny in camp that he planned .
And guess who spent considerable time in prison for the events that took place after? Yep the Turaga Qaranivalu himself so CBM won’t trick him this time around and nor will the Cobra from Rewa be able to hoodwink the now much enlightened Rt Inoke of the true colors of those who allowed him to wallow in prison for more than 10 years !
When do they intend to withdraw their support of the Coalition Govt and how will they do it is the million dollar question ?
Meanwhile Graham you truly deserve an award along with Victor Lal! All your scribes over recent months has brought the Coalition Govt to its knees and is again proving that the pen is mightier than the sword ! Vinaka vakalevu GD!!
“Ashamed”, if Aseri Radrodro can win an election, even in Fiji, having almost bashed his former wife to death, that will be a world first in a democracy. It isn’t going to happen. But then again…

A wife basher likewise known for bashing Sulu even in the early days of his Prime Ministership and later having scores of women and even an illegitimate child with a journalist, anything can happen in Fiji .
They could very easily do the same and ignore AR’s sordid history of wife basher and still given him a chance at the helm of govt. Fiji where truth becomes lies and lies is the truth .
