UPDATE JANUARY 5:
Someone has interrupted my holiday with news that the lamentable Yorkshireman, Charlie Charters, has launched yet another attack on me on Facebook, which he knows I cannot respond to because I am banned from the social media platform where I once had 30,000 “followers” on a formal complaint by the Coalition skank, Lynda Tabuya. Something about me being 100 per cent wrong about most things and the usual jibes about Qorvis, plus, evidently, a curious claim that I am being paid for my opinions. If only.
Sigh. It is clearly going to be a long year. But who needs to pay for marketing when I’ve got Charlie Ee by gum * driving traffic to these pages even with my feet up?
My informant tells me that the Siren of Manila, Imrana Jalal, weighs in with a comment that Charlie is “spot on”.
I’m 100 per cent wrong? Decide for yourself, Dear Reader. Here’s a reprise of some of my articles on both of them. And if they are smarting, I must be doing something right.
* EE BY GUM: a classic Yorkshire dialect phrase (Northern England) expressing mild surprise or emphasis, meaning something like “Oh my goodness!” or “Oh my gosh!”
As in ee by gum, I’ve been attacked by Charlie Charters!
Hit over the head with a Long Loaf!
Ee by gum. Will I ever be the same?
HOLIDAY SNAPS:
Mr 100 per cent Wrong. Ravaged by time and a lost cause.

And the esteemed Marama, who is invariably 100 per cent right.

What do you do when you can’t return to Fiji for fear of arrest?
Improvise!

Welcome back, we have been looking forward to your return!
We hope you are rested and reinvigorated for 2026.
Fiji needs your services badly as the country really has gone to the dogs. Everyone has joined the bandwagon: the opposition and the media have been bribed, so there is no opposition and no media, while the judiciary is also firmly in their grips. There is no hope except perhaps the ballot box, and this is where GS and GD are critical!
you are giving dogs a bad name.
Are you one of those who put the dogs in office?
And now you regret it, just like many in this forum?
You also one who cannot see dogs if they walk right past you?
One set of dogs replaced by another. They are all dogs, in a manner of speaking. No offense to dogs, who are nobler creatures than our so-called leaders, whether it’s Rabuka or Baimarama, Khaiyum or Baiman—all self-serving bastards of the highest order.
Happy New Year and welcome back!
Looking ahead to 2026, it’s clear the coalition government are not up to the job. It has also become clear in the past few years Fiji’s still carrying the legacy of the coups in a Parliament now dominated on the government benches by those with links to 1987, 2000 and 2006.
These MPs will at some point move on and hopefully a second election in 2026 with a peaceful transition of power will help this process.
Meanwhile the current D’Hondt, single constituency, big man electoral set-up does require a viable alternative PM to present him or herself. Constitutional change on that for members of Parliament to be representative of their constituencies, with reform for democratic local and provincial councils, along with separation of the executive and judiciary will no doubt come in at some point down the road. But unlikely before this next election.
Setting aside the question of ‘who, specifically?’, the bigger question is what would potential alternative government need to offer to win widespread support? What are people looking for from them?
Right now, they first and foremost want someone to immediately sort out the ‘very bad’ problem of drugs. Whoever has the best plan of action will win a lot of votes.
They want reform of the labour market with better wages. Employers want developed countries to stop pinching best workers, nurses, teachers, etc.
Responsible people also want the place cleaned up and for strict education and management on this.
They want basic services (water, power and health) working well.
And finally they want their elected representatives to work hard to improve their lives, along with health, education, and work opportunities for their families.
Not people who are there to enrich themselves and their cronies, ride around with drivers in big cars and take lots of overseas trips.
2026 Predictions:
1. Kai and Sunnim going to Jail;
2. Baiman and NFP eliminated from political scene.
3. End of Line for G9 ex FF ministers.
4. A new collision government after election, Rabakau will be PM though.
5. Labour getting into Parliament.
6. PAP losing some seats to Sodelpa.
7. One new political party will win some seats.
8. West votes mostly swinging to Labour.
Make the most of that well deserved re-charge in readiness for the 2026 roller coaster ride!
If anyone understands the mentality of taukei voters in the provinces then no doubt Rabaku will be PM again after the next election.
Taukeis like me who can see through these bastards BS are a minority. Most are just following their chiefs.
Better to have old fossils from 40 yrs ago in government than vulagis, right?
Even though the fossils have a history of doing jack shyte in the last 40 yrs. There must be logic in the way they think. I believe it is called racism based on a vulagi faith combined with a passionate belief in black magic and the Tevoro. That is the way to move the country forward, the iTaukei way.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum admonishing that CEO positions should not be given away as political candy is a bit rich after rewarding his brother, Riaz, with the FBC position in what was blatant, in-your-face nepotism of a sickening kind.
Little brother Riaz corruptly circumvents FBC’s tender procedures to procure a Volkswagen Touareg worth $200k.
At the height of their power and privilege, arrogant prick Riaz was treating FBC like his father’s personal property while equally arrogant Aiyaz styled himself as the Maharajah of Fiji, as per that mullah.
They thought that they would rule forever.
Good riddance of both. Hoping that they soon end up behind bars.
I guess you must be worshipping rabuka then?
Look where Fiji was when Aiyaz was AG and look where it is now.
@ A&R – As much as you’ll find it hard to agree in your racist head, they were pretty good at governance and did have a good innings, didn’t they?
Just as LQ, the mega racist never appointments a kaivata or Sona Snake never appointed a relative, aye? One stacked appointments with criminals from the eastern group, and another now has it loaded with the vanua levu criminal cabal. Nice.
As they say same, same, totavata kece na ceke.
No need for you to sound sanctimonious and smug about the current lot as if they are the epitome of perfection.
Go scrape another coconut.
As a side note – what happened to the ‘fiji transparency’ page on Facebook? He ruffled a lot of feathers and then suddenly it seems a huge number of posts removed and a sanitized version is all that remains. Did the govt get it booted off?
The minister for misinformation and porn and her nephew are shamelessly booting people off and are in total control of the media and Facebook. Prison awaits them.
I don’t even bother reading Charlie’s diatribes. He is so out of touch with reality and I worry for the mental state of the people who find his views credible.
I agree with the earlier comment by someone who said all Fiji politicians so far are proven traitors and bastards.
But great to see so many Kai Bai and Fiji First fanboys here. Those willing to forgive FF for anything and happy to turn a blind eye when it comes to corruption by Aiyaz-Sayed Khaiyum and his bro, Riaz, the FBC don. So it’s only a problem if it’s an iTaukei but a non-issue if it’s Indo-Fijian. The argument is that since Qarase appointed his kaivata, it’s ok for Aiyaz to appoint his brother and his co-religionists. According to that logic, it’s also ok for Rabuka to appoint his kaivata as well. So why cry and complain like bitches? Typical Indo Fijian racism and double standards at play.
You sound like one of those Suva-based entitled clowns who would see Fiji go to the dogs just to stick it to Aiyaz. Fijifirst, despite their flaws, were better than this lot any day of the week. You are too blinded by personal hatred to see that.
@annonymous 7.36am accusing others of racism then using a racist slur like go scrape a coconut. Think you so clever?
Typical, isn’t it? Whine like a bitch about racism and first to act like victims but biggest racist themselves but too stupid and hypocritical to even realize.
Why don’t you go roll a roti? Might ease you hurt feelings for Aiyaz and Riaz.
The problem you’re ignoring in your special bitch with a special brand of ignorance is the fact that these days more natives roll roti than the Indos ever did.
While you focus on FF why not say something about your pedo prez impregnate a special needs child. Shameful beyond compare, aye?
Go nuts with that lolo buns.
@Anon the problem is you are a racist to the core but first one to whine about racism like many of your type. You started it you piece of shit. As if Indians don’t scrape coconuts. As for the pedo president you keep on harping about, he should be in jail but I’m not the police, dumb arse. Since you feel so strongly about it, why not take it the police yourself, keyboard warrior?
from what I am seeing these days the hindis go to the supermarket and pay a few cents to get one coconut to scrape another coconut.
as for the pedo president – he appears to be protected by our great council of coconuts and, traditional allegiances. remember, chiefs are god’s gift to us coconuts and they can never do any wrong,
@Daniel – the reason hindis have to go the supermarket to get a coconut in the first place is because the native thugs help themselves (steal) to all the bu from our palms to sell by the road side.
Thereby giving the green bu no chance to become like elite urban natives: brown on the outside and white on the inside.
(PS-hoping this trolling too gets under the skin @ Fiji’s Indian racists. Lol.)
They clearly don’t like it too much when the shoe is on the other foot.
EFL, a monopoly and a profit making corporate entity, should simply borrow to undertake its so called future developments! After all, the increased demand of power (as EFL says), will be a pay back on this investment since “new” revenue will be generated at the current tariff rates. Being a monopoly, there “new” revenues are guaranteed. EFL should also cut its operational cost such as several millions being paid to those 8 or 9 executives. EFL’s financial advisor seems to be grog doped.
