# HERE’S TO US. AND UP YOURS, FIJI

Posted on August 1, 2024 49 Comments

Bula suckers!

What do you do when you’ve just got $86-million from the taxpayers of Australia to support your budget because you haven’t got enough money yourself? You throw a big party at the GPH for all your ministers to celebrate how stupid the Aussies are and rub it into your own people’s faces that you are all getting big pay rises from August 1 while Fiji’s lowest wage earners get a measly 50 cents an hour.

The Grinning Assassin and his matching missus

Sitiveni Rabuka has absolutely no shame. And neither do any of the individuals who turned up to his bizarre “thank you” function for the preening swine of the Coalition who’ve wedged their snouts even further into the trough. Look at them all in their kalavata finery and self-satisfied grins. You paid for this, Fiji. None of them did. You and Australian taxpayers, who foolishly think the money they’ve donated is going to those who need it most. Suckers, all of you.

Strangely subdued. The brute of Room 233

But where’s Lynda, the resident Queen of Tarts and Chair of the Emoluments Committee that feeds the pigs? No sign of her in the photos on the government’s Facebook page. But looky here. There’s Lynda’s “love rat” ,Aseri, looking rather forlorn with his long-suffering wife, Sainiana. Did someone tell the Minister for Bonking and Weed that Sainiana would be present and to make herself scarce? Who knows? Who cares?

The whole thing is already sordid enough without a catfight that might have brought the party to life but would really underline the fact that this is already like the last days of Rome – a bunch of degenerates sucking on the public teat as if there is no tomorrow. Except that in politics, tomorrow always comes.

Champion of the poor

Mahendra Chaudhry may be 82 but he has lost none of his ability to go for the political jugular. And the Labour Party leader goes for the throats of Sitiveni Rabuka and his gaggle of misfits in a manner that will have the entire nation on its feet cheering him on. These people are completely bereft not only of shame but even the most basic political judgement. And that includes individuals like Sashi Kiran who used to be advocates for the poor but now show contempt for ordinary people by joining in the excess.

Just when you think the Coalition can’t get any worse, it has a peculiar knack of proving us wrong. In the absence of a formal opposition, these jokers now think they can do whatever they like. But Mahendra Chaudhry is only saying publicly what an entire nation is thinking. That this government that promised to be so much better than its predecessor is, in fact, even worse. And as soon as the people have their say again, the music and the self indulgent partying will come to a crashing halt.

Sitiveni Rabuka speaks of it being “only fitting to break away from the shackles of officialdom and just be ordinary”. Ordinary for these guys is a knees-up at the GPH at your expense while the poorest paid ordinary workers – with their risible 50 cents an hour extra – struggle to put food on the table.

Yes, “good work” Coalition. Greedy pigs led by a Snake.

Not a happy chappy. “Where’s my love?”

It’s very awkward that the people who would usually criticize the government now cannot because they’ve compromised themselves for reasons of self interest. Prominent elite have now hitched themselves to this sinking ship. At first they kept everyone in line by saying don’t criticize give them a chance. Then they said don’t criticize or you support FFP. Then they said don’t criticize or we will sue you. What can they say now? Chaudhry also compromised himself and has nothing to lose. Elite have lost reputations but will hang on to slimy Rabuka or they drown. Fiji people are not being served due to self interest and those that are not getting high are leaving.

Politics isn’t rugby or soccer. It’s not about blindly supporting one team. It’s not about only cheering the winning team. It’s about objectively observing and holding accountable politicians whichever political party they are in. Graham and Mahendra seem to be the only people publicly doing so.

I agree in principle. But what we have seen in Fiji is critics who can be right, or clever or even witty but then when they had the chance to do something about it acted in their own self interest. This has shown they really do not give a dam about the national interest. We need to be careful about the critics we listen to as well.

    Didn’t my people before me.
    Slavery for this country, Fiji.
Now you look at me with a scorn and wine.
Then you eat up all my corn and drink wine.
We gonna chase those crazy baldheads.
Build your penitentiary, you build no schools.
Brainwash education to make us the fools.
Drugs has become free for all.
Greed is your reward for our love and ticks.
Telling us of you are God above.

    with 86 million reward.
    Coming with his con plan

We need to chase them all .

There is nothing wrong in getting the team together for team thank you, this is always done in the Corporate world as a way to keep the team motivated.
What was wrong was the venue and tax pay funds. The PM should have had this function at his residence on his dime not on a lavish hotel and with tax payer funds.
These types of very silly and not well thoughts out things does show lack of empathy towards the common people who are struggling.

Very poor judgement indeed and the PM needs to changes his advisors and move away from these types of negative press and unforced errors.

Advisors? What advisors? Rabuka does whatever he wants. Which is why precisely three weeks since he said Christopher Pryde should continue to be paid, the DPP’s salary is still suspended. Because he doesn’t want it restored. It is a ruse.

It’s the same with his continuous apologies. He says sorry for “mistakes” but isn’t sorry in the least. Because they are not mistakes. They are deliberate. He preys on the gullibility of iTaukei to accept an “apology” and goes right on doing the same thing.

The PM has emasculated any opposition and now does what he pleases. Which is why the buck for the obscene GPH soirée stops with him. The Snake.

Agree entirely as we have no credible opposition and not a single soul worthy of standing up in the next election… This is what the country has now and for the foreseeable future as I cant see anyone who, in the next two years, will be able to garner anywhere enough support in any other party, or have time to form a credible party, to even look like being a chance in the next election….. sad but true…..

            rs: do not read this.

The purpose of my remarks was simply to express am opinion, not to get the attention of an idiotic demonstrable fcukwit. However, it seems to have worked like a charm. Spectacularly.

Dimwitted fijians as rs and his ilk are half the reason we are where we are as a country. Blind support for baimaan and his lowdown nfp cahoots, come hell or high water. And then the demontrable fcuk wit tries to be pretentious playing both sides. Boasting about your deeds is not what doing good is about.

Switching gears for something more concerning. We cannot ignore the shambolic state of government. As matter of fact Nfp and baimaan have betrayed the voters including the very poor who can not afford butter, forget lamb chops. Noodles, bread, and tea are real daily dinners for the poor.

Baimaan made many grand promises campaigning to lift the level of poverty, bring food prices down, stop goverment accesses, retire the begging bowl, stem the tide of rising debt, raise minimum wage to $6, stop cronyism, and corruption.

Baimaan said he’d NEVER work with any coup makers. Yet here he is shamelessly embracing a traitor, treasonous x2 thug, mutiny organizer, serial adulterer, serial liar, indo-fijian hating, senile old thug responsible for causing so much grief, hurt, and harm to one community, calling them vulgai, removing them from civil service, diplomatic corps, and statutory boards. All in the name of itaukei supremacy. While baimaan twiddle’s his thumb. Has no gumption to use nfp seats to restore some degree of sensibility and fairness in government.

Baimaan shamelessly lines his pockets as he carries the water for this treasonous thug slr. He begs donor agencies and countries for ‘support’ and then has the nerve to publicly celebrate with a grand banquet rubbing the poor voters noses into the ground.

No shame from baimaan in girmit-granting $200,000 to his wife (no accounting), granting $5m to LA lackey for ‘geo tech school,’ (where?) appointing LA buddies to FSC, ambassadorship, statutory boards.

Baimaan outdid his shamless self by strategically ‘opposing’ the huge unprecedented pay and benefits increases among themselves, including duty free cars, luxury housing, luxury furniture for the speaker (for doing what?) and gutless leader of the oposition. They all continue unlimited business class travel (same airline he said was ‘sinking’), UN per diem rates, 5-star hotels and meals, call girl in dehli hotel, sexting married women.

Wiping out student loans, granting billionare a 7-year tax holiday via the self-interested farcical fiscal review committee, VAT increase, rising debts, soaring inflation, cronyism to appoint statutory boards, FSC, economic advisor in finance ministry (for a so-called professor).

Baimaan riled against the previous goverment for years about access spending, unaccounted public funds, etc.
And now he is behaving in exactly the same manner, even worse. No longer can he use ‘but, but the last 16 years’ for his inept handling of finances and the economy.

The above and much more are the real issues being ignored by goverment. There is no relief in sight for the suffering people. What a cluster fcuk.

Tired of the nfp BS by the nitwit proxies espousing all that is good is be ause of baimaan and anything bad still belongs to the previous group. Find solutions. Stop the BS.

So yeah, never give up an opportunity to stfu.

Spot on GD. It is clear the Coalition treats the country with utmost contempt and carry on with their usual greed, inefficiency and blatant disregard to the basic tenets of good governance and leadership, regardless of what everyone says or perceives.

And supported by countries like Australia which is in bed with the GOF, and will go to any length just to ensure that China doesn’t get both feet in. Great time in the current geopolitics to play one against the other, and maximise the loots.

Why would Rabuka care when he has lap dogs like Biman Prasad to bark on his behalf and threaten Chaudhry for his leadership. Of course BCP cannot match up to MCP’s credentials, so goes personal and completely off track. What an insult to his Professorship?

Now the MPs can even take more trips and comeback with tonnes of personal stuff given the unlimited duty free entitlement and escape the rising cost of living in the country, brought upon by the senseless polices of the current mob.

There is no opposition so they can have a field day. Get ‘legally’ what Sitiveni Rabuka and his bunch of ethno-nationalists set out to achieve in 1987, this time aided by the likes of Biman Prasad destroying the very fabric of what used to be the NFP.

Here’s are some baseline novel-if not alien, suggestions before we even begin to worry about solutions:

      1. Follow the rule of law
      2. 2013 Constitution is THE LAW
      3. Reverse all illegal judiciary appointments
      4. Follow the rule of law
      5. Ensure fair and equal justice for all – no exceptions.
      6. Stop racism, bigotry, and hate.
      7. Stop demonizing the vulagi; stop with the ethnic cleansing of civil service.
      8. Embrace pluralism of our people, diversity is a strength..
      9. Be specific when saying “we need to change the constitution,” state the what exactly has to
      change and why, offer alternatives/solutions.
      11. Follow. The. Rule. Of. Law

Please share your opinions. Otherwise we will have yet another constitution ‘shoved down our throats.’

If and when that time does come, just remember to tell your British slave driver’s to compensate and make reparations to all the vulagis for developing the country over the many decades.

Our ancestor’s blood and sweat will then not be in vain then.

After that you all are welcome to become the slaves of the communist Chinese who can then teach you all how to develop your village’s Chinese style.

After all the GCC are a communal bunch themselves.

A delegation recently returned from a free trip to China to learn how to develope their village’s.

It has always been Immunity Rabuka’s agenda since 1987 to replace the vulagis with the Chinese communists!

That is becoming a reality in case you haven’t noticed.

Just remember to make the reparations and compensations when that time comes!!

Why were Indians brought from India to Fiji? Simply to develop Fiji coz the British knew there is no scope with the lazy lot available! Come on guys, dont waste time trying to get sense in that shitty heads coz its futile.
The economy can only flourish when Agriculture being the base industry does well just like in the time of the Late Ratu Mara. How do you think infrustructure like roads, airports, seaports and many others were built?Surely it was through agriculture.
But no, my land is too precious to be cultivated and be used for greater good. So dont bother electoral poll, vote with your feet coz there is nothing one can do if the base industry is stagnant coz of these lazy lot. Keep your land and take it with you to God!

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
