# KAMIKAMICA’S SLIP OF THE TONGUE THAT EXPOSES THE COALITION’S SECRET AGENDA (UPDATED TUES AM)

Posted on March 17, 2025 19 Comments

It was Manoa “I’ll work harder if you pay me more” Kamikamica‘s job last week to obtain and secure the numbers in the parliament to pass the Coalition’s bill to change the 2013 Constitution. He failed. And in humiliation and frustration, Kamikamica is lashing out at the Opposition leader, Inia Seruiratu, for merely doing his job.

We now know that Seruiratu – the leader of what was once the Group of 16 in the parliament – says he was ready to engage with the Coalition to discuss the passage of its bill but baulked at giving it the green light when the government refused to divulge its true intentions.

Thank God, he did. Inia Seruiratu has saved us all – and especially Fiji’s minorities – from being sacrificed at the altar of the Coalition’s secret determination to re-establish indigenous supremacy in Fiji by stealth.

In comments to today’s Fiji Sun, Kamikamica stupidly gives the game away as he lashes out at Inia Seruiratu for not falling into line and joining the government in its clandestine effort to betray the interests of the one quarter to one third of the population that isn’t indigenous. (The precise number isn’t clear because so many of those insultingly referred to as “vulagi” – visitors – have already given up on Fiji and left).

Here’s the relevant passage right at the end of the Fiji Sun report:

  • “We are now in the hands of the Court” . The Supreme Court led by the Coalition’s handpicked stooge – the rogue Chief Justice and head of the Judicial Services Commission, Salesi Temo.
  • “If they tell us to go back to 1997, you would have little say in the matter”. The 1997 Constitution that was weighted in favour of the iTaukei, gave them more rights than other citizens and referred to the rest of us as “Fiji Islanders”.

What a giveaway! We now know that when the Supreme Court sits to rule whether the government has the legal right to change the 2013 Constitution, the government’s lawyers will be seeking not just changes to individual clauses but to junk the Constitution altogether and return to the provisions of the 1997 Constitution.

Kamikamica has inadvertently made a profound revelation – that the Coalition is seeking an end to the common and equal citizenry and the common identity. To “go back to 1997”.

He has tried to con the Opposition into supporting a bill to alter the 2013 Constitution without revealing what the government’s secret agenda really is. And then when they realised what was afoot because of the government’s lack of candour, they did their duty. They rejected it.

Now like an angry schoolboy who has been deprived of his prize, Manoa Kamikamica dares to go on the attack. No Manoa, you were bested because you have been dishonest.

Neither you nor the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, the NFP leader, Biman Prasad, or any of the dodgy characters on your side of the House like “Boo-Hoo Mo Bulitavu” have had the guts to fess up to the Fijian people what your real agenda is. And now you stomp your feet when you’ve been called out and frustrated.

Kamikamica – whose name means “sweet” and “pleasant tasting” in iTaukei – is nothing of the sort. What he has done to Inia Seruiratu to “verbal” him for actually doing the right thing is deeply unpleasant. But it is nothing compared with his betrayal of the minorities by not levelling with them about the government’s true agenda.

We must unite to prevent the Coalition getting its way at all costs. Because we know now what the plan is. “Back to 1997”. An end to equality of opportunity irrespective of ethnicity. The paramountcy of the iTaukei restored.

No way, Manoa. Your secret plan is going to be fought tooth and nail to the very end. And you and the gaggle of mediocrities beside you should be ashamed of yourselves. Because you are not democrats but racist bullies who at every turn, violate your duty to be transparent and accountable to the Fijian people and must be defeated or multiracial Fiji is finished.

And by the way: Please explain why you have been telling people that Lynda Tabuya gave the Prime Minister his gold Rolex. Or is that another example of your inability to be straightforward with the people who put you in that terrible checked suit.

UPDATE TUES AM

The Opposition steps up its attack on Manoa Kamikamica and the Coalition and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum enters the debate warning of social and economic upheaval arising from the government’s tactics.

Question: Why did Khaiyum abandon the parliament when he could have stayed and fought? Why didn’t he and Frank Bainimarama keep FijiFirst together and govern the party with more consensus and inclusion? Because they would have stormed back next year had they done so.

A sermon in humility from the man who finally took a stand for principle.

Isa the late Honorable Josevata Kamikamica must be wondering why his son chooses to disenfranchise one third of the population of their equal rights as citizens.

    The checked suit.
Aptly reflects a chequered persona. More suited as a hopeful salesperson in a dodgy used car yard.
It’s such bad taste. Just doesn’t fit the ministerial position he is in. A joker or clown, yes.

It’s enlightening to read Aiyaz’s post on the Constitution amendment and his dig at the incompetent Graham the PIMP Leung. It’s without a doubt that Aiyaz is one of the most intelligent and well spoken AGs Fiji has ever had. Regardless of what people say about him, you can’t take away the fact that this man is far more competent than the PIMP.

Aiyaz articulates his article so well and that even a person with no legal background would be able to understand, except of course the Coalition monkeys. He annihilates so called experts like Leung, Richard Naidu, Temo, Siromi, and other jokers through his thorough and well written piece on the current constitution amendment debate.

Such a huge gap in intellectual capacity and competence between Aiyaz and the clowns currently running the country.

I hope we see thus guy back next year.

Unfortunately, he is more likely to be behind bars. That’s where the government intends to put him.

Err…thats where he put himself by his choices underscored by arrogance and a sense of infallibility and longevity in the role through his 2013 Constitution.

Is this Manoa or his wife talking? Ann walks around Suva with files telling people how powerful she is. Told common friend that she is First Lady in Waiting – sees The Tart Ex Minister as a threat to their political ambition.

Manoa portrays himself as a corporate type but his words and intellect show his depth – another Pramesh Sharma-type except Pramesh has nothing going for him while Manoa has much going for him if he can keep clean. This, GD, proves otherwise.

Is this the same Manoa Kamikamica whose wife goes around asking for money in his name for special favours by her husband? She tells people her husband is deputy PM.

I once thought that among the current set of clowns in government, some had a brain. That list included Manoa. Unfortunately he’s as much a clown, if not bigger, than Biman and Rabuka.

I have said before that anyone who claims falsely that the Taliban produced the 2013 Constitution will be automatically excluded from these columns .

Someone just defied that instruction. And guess what? A completely wasted effort. Trashed.

The religious bigotry of some so called Christians in Fiji is a disgrace. As I have also said before. Where are the lions when we need them?

Are Viliame Naupoto and Ioane Naivalurua members of the Taliban? Yet as members of the Military Council, they were among the principal sponsors of the 2013 Constitution. Go and ask them.

Having read the former FFP’s AG and to put it a little bluntly, it is apparent he has “arse-raped” Leung, Rabuka, Kamikamica and Biman.

Each fact articulated by the former AG is backed up quite solidly, pointing to the various clauses in the constitution and also exposing Leung for the idiot he is.

Side dig at GD – he is giving all the Grahams around the world a bad name 🤣 – he’s become a good Graham gone bad.

The former DPP Aca Rayawa has come out sulu flying and screaming like a banshee that the former AG is the one responsible for the mess the government is in. Poor Aca forgets that Aiyaz isnt in government and so he cant have created this mess. He also uses Aiyaz to state that Bainimarama is now in prison because of Aiyaz. Nothing could be further from the truth. Banimarama was found innocent of the charges by a magistrate. It was his Aca’s childhood sweetheart Temo who had run through the halls of the judiciary like a baboon, telling everyone he would send Bainimarama to prison and also discipline the magistrate after HE HAD DIRECTED HER to find him guilty, regardless of the evidence.

Yet Aiyaz has, like the fabled Odysseus has fired the arrow from the bow, through the hoops and straight into the heart of the matter. The hate that is now brewing is that he has cleanly cut through all the bullshit, exposing the nefarious activities to Rabuka and his useless hyenas, making it abundantly clear to the entire Fijian population and anyone else in the world what the governments plan is in reality.

Kamikamica is a terrible card player and his mouth is bigger then his stomach. He has shown his hand well before anyone else and has caused a major stink everywhere like a bloke with a flatulance problem. On the other hand, unlike Rabuka who chose to “exercise my right to silence”, Kamikamica has chose to “exercise his right to expose everything” without thinking.

There is a video already on FijiVillage showing the former AG being interviewed by a large throng of reporters and the government is probably peeing in its diapers once the full interview comes out on the former AG’s page and he unleashes on the jungle mob.

Today’s ANI news reports on PM Modi quoting Mahatma Gandhi who had said “If you’re ever unsure when making a decision, think of the poorest person’s face. Remember them and ask yourself, ‘Will this help them?’ Then your decision will be right.”

The Coalition is clearly for the elite, not for the “poorest person’s face” and therefore will never learn to execute policies that would move the needle in the right direction to alleviate poverty, especially downwards of that dreaded 75% mark.

Isa, kerekere Siti, Manoa, Siromi, Salesi, Biman, Aseri and other leaders, not forgetting the 2 southerner ladies – Lenora and Lynda – please have pity and think of the poorest person’s face.

Grubsheet, thank you for your ongoing revelations of these leaders and their secret agenda, as our local media has failed us miserably except perhaps the Fiji Sun. So please carry on until election season cometh forth.

Kudos to Inia Seruiratu and his group of 15, including MPs Rinesh and Kripal. These two quickly realized that their initial ‘yes’ vote wasn’t as they had anticipated. They played a crucial role in defeating the Bill, despite intense lobbying from the Coalition right up to the vote.

Kamikamica and Biman, unable to accept their defeat, redirected their frustration toward Inia and his team instead of acknowledging the loss. Kamikamica even reached out to Inia, and we can all guess why—perhaps he tried to exploit the race card in an effort to sway Inia. However, as the opposition leader, Inia had an important responsibility: to stand against an illegal Bill, not support it.

Both Kamikamica and Biman have labeled Inia and the opposition MPs as undemocratic. But in reality, it is the Coalition government that is acting undemocratically. They are attempting to amend Chapter 11 of the Constitution illegally by bypassing Standing Orders.

The Coalition government’s aim is to weaken the Constitution significantly, allowing them to implement their agenda—marginalizing Indo-Fijians and other minorities while elevating the Itaukei above others. This is why they are withholding information from both the opposition and the people of Fiji regarding the changes they want to make. Their intention is to alter provisions related to equal citizenry, common identity, and secularism, but they fear that revealing this will make them deeply unpopular.

Rabuka’s push for the GCC to have a role in the Constitution would further entrench Itaukei supremacy, a move that would exacerbate divisions in the country.

There was no other option for Frank and Aiyaz but to leave parliament and leave FFP. Frank was very quickly bundled out due to his comment on the President and Aiyaz by attending the CoC. The wolves in sheep’s clothing in FFP quickly reared their faces to Aiyaz during the remuneration bill.

Aiyaz played the numbers right and it would have brought FFP political expediency by allowing the bill to go through but oppose to the bill. Inia and his caucus were too dumb (or too greedy) to see why Aiyaz had proposed to oppose the bill or abstain from voting. The numbers were clearly enough to push the bill through and the only bad guys would’ve been PAP/SODELPA.

The inner split became public and without Frank at the helm, the jackals like Moji B and Naupoto crumbled the party down. None of the itaukei in FFP had a liking for Aiyaz. They were tolerating him because Frank was backing him.

So no, they didn’t abandon the ship. They had no other option but to leave else whatever is currently left of the opposition wouldn’t exist. Like parasites, the FFP were annihilated from within.

    Great political strategy though.

Khaiyum has it right. The main thing they want to change is the electoral system. The electoral act is also set to be changed in the next sitting of parliament as well.

Rabuka and Lynda just experienced a Bauan special, equivalent of an underarm bowl in cricket.

There’ll be many more in the lead up to the general election as Manoa Kamikamica asserts his dominance.

    Say goodbye to Rabuka.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
