# NO PORN STAR BUT DEFINITELY A STAR (UPDATED)

Posted on February 20, 2024 17 Comments

Lenora Qereqeretabua has always been a class act and she is again displaying her customary dignity in the most undignified of situations – having to give evidence in court against the outrageous cyber-pest, Kishore Kumar.

Kumar is on trial for having allegedly waged an internet campaign against Lenora Qereqeretabua in which he repeatedly claimed that she had appeared in a pornographic video. I say “allegedly” because the details are sub-judice as the trial continues and even the miserable Kishore Kumar deserves the presumption of innocence until found guilty.

But there is certainly nothing to prevent anyone from saying that the notion of perhaps the most wholesome figure in public life starring in a pornographic video is about as unlikely as the notion of another prominent figure doing so would be little or no surprise.

Grubsheet is frequently accused of being negative but it is easy to be positive about “La Lenora”. Because she is a genuine role model for the nation’s young women – warm, open, articulate and dignified, with none of the “look at me, look at me” self-obsession of some of her cabinet colleagues.

She was a dignified deputy speaker of the Parliament and she is a dignified Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs – a genuine asset to the nation who understands that she is on a steep learning curve and is working away – diligently and quietly – to effectively represent Fiji’s interests in the world.

If only the rest of the cabinet would just get on with it like Lenora, imagine how much better off this government would be and how much higher its stocks would be with the Fijian people as a whole. Lenora’s distinguished parents – Radike and Eta Qereqeretabua – have had the good fortune to live long enough to see their daughter fulfil her promise and start making a real mark in public life.

Where she goes from here is complicated by the fact that she is in the NFP, which is almost certain not to make the 5 per cent threshold in a fresh election because of its role in enabling the excesses of its Coalition partners and alienating its political base.

But let’s hope that Lenora’s talents are recognised by any future government and that she is able to continue to shine brightly. Because she is a genuine star, maybe even a lone star, in the political black hole that the Coalition has come to represent.

UPDATED TUESDAY EVENING: Clearly the pornography allegation had a dire effect on Lenora Qereqeretabua’s mental health. She revealed on day two of the hearing that she tried to take her own life. (see below)

A shocking revelation on Day Two of the hearing (Tuesday)

I have so much respect for Lenora.
I wish her all the best.
And I hope that she becomes the Minister in charge for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a job she will do well and better than the PM of Fiji right now.
I also hope she becomes the first neutral person to become the Speaker and in future the President of Fiji.
She has so much more potential and rightly so the respect she deserves.
    All the best Lenora.
The women of Fiji hold you in high regard.

Poor Lenora. Her leadership has somewhat been on a low because of one stupid woman look at me look at me Minister. But a good low because that’s what Lenora is about.

Lenora is so Fijian at heart. She is on the bus and boats traveling with everyday people. She doesn’t sensationalise things for her gain but what is good for the people and the country.

Lenora would do an excellent job as a Minister for Women and Children, and as a Minister for MFAT.
She will shine anywhere as a leader.

All the best to you Lenora.

Make sure you leave him in shreds Lenora.
    Go get him.

And do not let the likes of Lynda and Shamima take any glory off you for fighting this fight. Simply because they come nowhere near to the dignity you carry.

Leonora would make an excellent Minister for Women and children. Or any position for that matter. An exemplary woman and leader who certainly walks the talk. My casual bump in’s with her at the local supermarket have been extremely pleasant and fulfilling to say the very least. She emanates joy and class in all she does with a bounce in her step. A pleasure. You cant keep a GOOD woman down. Wishing her all the very best.

Pio Tikoduadua signing a partnership with Drug Free World, an organization run by Church of Scientology. Baiman and Charan tour India, trying to build “stronger relationship” (when was it weak? We’ve never had issues with India). Sashi trying to get Truth and Reconciliation commission while Rabuka supports bombing of Palestinians and illegal occupation of Palestinian territory at the ICJ, led by traitor Taraniki and Ana Rokomokoi, head of FNU Law.
Back in Fiji, Turaga and Rabuku lead on full scale attack on the constitution and replacing minorities with iTaukeis at every chance they get. This 3 legged government is hell bent on destroying minorities everywhere both in Fiji and in Palestine. Indo-Fijian traitor Baiman smiling away with his nephews and brothers now all have govt jobs so who gives a flying f**k about other Indo-Fijians?

Lenora had so much to say before election and now her Foreign Affairs Ministry is supporting the illegal occupation (by Israel of Palestine) at the Hague led by Taraniki. Does the NFP have any control over Christian fundamentalist in their coalition?

Poor Lenora having to defend her integrity in this manner and I wish her well. She has the strength of character to see this ordeal through. This is just ‘water off a duck’s back’!

But what a bizzare claim by this little fellow, Kishore Kumar. Why on earth did he do it in the first place esp. if the porn allegations weren’t true? What was in it for him? Was he being paid? By who, or who talked him into it in the first place because it seems he wasn’t acting alone? And why Lenora out of all other women politicians/female political aspirants? So many gaps to be filled in this rather strange lawsuit. And I hope to see an end to it ASAP! as the country is desperately facing bigger problems.

Now if only some “losing peeps” @ GenElections had the vision and wisdom not to compete with NFP, who would’ve secured more seats (leverage to counter racist Rabuka more effectively) and erase Sodelpa once and for all from the face of the earth. There! We wouldn’t have to deal with: “fly now, pay later scheme, business partnership with a shady ex-con and a sexual abuser” – all from the three Sodelpa representatives.

A long way still to Jericho……….

Lenora should lead the nation. Forget the Women’s Ministry, that is far too low a stoop for her. This woman should run the most challenging of all the Ministries, either Foreign Affairs or Finance… or both! Then she should sit in the PM’s chair after the next election.

What do we really need for those positions? Integrity, Integrity and more Integrity. We are a laughing stock to other nations, especially donor nations. We have 16 years of financial mismanagement that was primarily covered up by grotesquely selling off core national assets coupled with ever rising national debt ($9 billion / 9 years = $1 billion a year on average and that includes the Covid year). Now, against every campaign promise, the Coalition has somehow doubled down on the debt by adding $1.5 billion in one year!!!! They did this while still adding more revenue via a VAT increase on the general public while dementedly giving the largest taxpayer a seven year free ride! That makes no sense in any world except a world of payoffs, shady deals, and wholescale political looting.

Think about how much damage those Fiji Water trucks do to our roads alone. Don’t agree? Well, drive right out of the Fiji Water plant and then drive left to Lautoka and the port. Which way has the most damaged roads? Who pays for all that road damage? The people of Fiji pay for that, not Fiji Water. Thank you, Mr. Naidu, I hope you sleep well.

Then, when you add in one constitutional infraction after another, the mass elimination of non-iTaukei workers in Government, Boards and likewise and I see no other person who offers the nation hope of honesty, integrity and a return to true Fiji values.

Lenora is a national treasure and our one great hope for a selfless way forward that does not resemble the grimy, selfish ugliness of the last 17.16 years and continuing.

All the best with your court case Leonora. Go get ‘em. At least she had the decency to report this to the relevant authorities and engage a proper court inquiry into the matter. It’s indicative that she has nothing to hide. Can’t say much about the other monster I’m sorry, “minister” for women and children. Hiding behind a false charade and behind the PM hoping all will work out in her favor: she’s got a whole lot to loose hence her hesitancy to engage a case and call for a court inquiry into the matter. For all we know, it’s the anxiety for fear of further exposure of actual evidence including the testimonies from multiple men and women who will step forward. Calling your bluff Lynda

Sad to read (refer link below) that Lenora even attempted suicide over that lil pipsqueek-dropkick who is pictured looking happy and even cheerful. Is he mad? He’s so not worth getting angry over, much less even contemplating taking one’s own life. Good Lord!

The little pipsqueek also seems like a ‘fall guy’. She needs to find out who was behind him i.e. who gave him the video in the first place and then pushed him to do all the stuff that he did. Welei @ this godforsaken country!

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
