# ONLY IN FIJI, EH? THE MAN WHO CAN’T BE ATTORNEY GENERAL DUE TO MISCONDUCT IS NOW ACTING PRIME MINISTER

Posted on November 13, 2025 34 Comments

Fili “Three strikes and I’m not out” Vosarogo

With two of the three deputy prime ministers sidelined after having been charged with serious criminal offences and awaiting trial, we now have an Acting Prime Minister in the absence of Sitiveni Rabuka in Japan who has had multiple findings against him for professional misconduct.

Yes, folks, the Prime Minister’s nephew, Filimoni Vosarogo – the Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources – is filling the shrinking man’s shoes while he is on yet another overseas trip building his retirement nest egg. And Vosarogo has wasted no time in making his presence felt in the national media with statements on the escalating road toll and an attack on civil servants by a drunken village mob in Vanua Levu. (see below)

“Mr Sweet”

Is it a sign that Vosorogo could be future foreman material now that Rabuka’s previous heir presumptive, Manoa Kamikamica, is on the parliamentary backbench with his fellow accused, Biman Prasad, doing a convincing impression of roadkill? Possibly. Because depending on how the law takes its course, Mr Sweet’s political ambitions are over.

“Baimaan”

Yet the same impediment that blocked Filimoni Vosarogo from remaining as attorney general when the Prime Minister chose him in the immediate aftermath of the December 2022 election is also going to haunt him for the rest of his political career.

As a lawyer, he was found guilty of professional misconduct by the Independent Legal Services Commission not once but three times. Yes folks, three separate instances of conduct unbecoming and a betrayal of trust. Which anywhere else but Fiji, would be the death knell for anyone’s political career.

But in Fiji? It’s only that irritating little 2013 Constitution that was preventing Fili from being AG because it inconveniently stipulates that no-one can be the government’s chief legal advisor who has a finding of professional misconduct against them. One finding, let alone three.

Yet when it comes to being prime minister, there’s no legal impediment at all. Which is why Vosarogo is now top dog while the mangy old hound is in the Land of the Rising Sun and the sun also rises on the prospect of his nephew succeeding Rabuka as PAP leader. Because, after all, isn’t it always better to keep things in the family, Fiji style?

“Blinky”

We really have reached the bottom of the barrel when it comes to national leadership. Two out of the three deputy prime ministers – Manoa Kamikamica and Biman Prasad – sidelined for alleged corruption and the third Deputy Prime Minister, “Blinky Bill” Gavoka , clearly available but widely regarded as little more than a curiosity – a cuddly marsupial with a Caribbean accent incapable of managing a village fête, let alone a pilgrimage to Israel.

“Mad Mo”

And look who’s representing the nation at COP30 in Brazil now that the substantive environment minister, Biman Prasad is lolling on the backbench worrying about a stretch in the slammer? Bloody hell. It’s “Mad Mo” – Mosese Bulitavu, who has been in as many political parties as some people change their underwear each week yet is now cast as a global statesman and the best person Fiji could find to put its case for at least a small chance of being able to survive the climate onslaught.

Come on, Fiji. Is this the best we can do?

Calling all men and women who don’t have criminal records, findings of misconduct against them and with genuine integrity and a passion to serve. The clocking is ticking towards next year’s election. Your country needs you. Desperately. Because with this lot, there is no hope at all.

Lord Kitchener raising recruits in Britain to fight in WW1. We’re making the same call in Fiji more than a century on

And wasting no time in trying to make his mark.

Finally, “Mad Mo” gets to save the world at COP30.

But the punters back home aren’t impressed…

Living within our means? Are you kidding?

さようなら

Sayonara! Moce! Byeee!

Fiji, no matter under whose leadership, continues with the usual rhetoric and motherhood statements at these international forums.

Bulitavu is clearly enjoying the limelight and the chosen accompanying media from Fiji, including PacNews, are gleefully highlighting the same old statements, as if these buffoons are making an earth-shattering impact on negotiations. This is while other smaller Pacific countries such as Marshalls, Tuvalu, Vanuatu etc are making international headlines.

We have yet to get from Biman’s junket last year how much climate finance Fiji actually received, and we wouldn’t really be holding our breath for anything this time around either. Perhaps a breakdown of costs associated vs money gained might be a useful item for the relevant Parliamentary standing committee.

We continue to hear of lack of access to water, sanitation etc mainly amongst our rural and squatter folks, highlighted by UNICEF and host of other credible organisations. Of course all this while our hospitals are plagued with man-made disasters.

But the gravy train, making hay while the sun shines, seems to be the rallying call amongst our ministers and the PM.

We cannot be more eager for 2026!

If he can’t be trusted to conduct himself to the required standard as a lawyer, how can he be trusted to lead the country?

Since when has professional misconduct (three counts) been a qualification for national leadership?

Though I guess one thing going in his favour is that unlike Lynda Tabuya, he can at least keep his clothes on and his hands off other people’s spouses.

Unless, of course, there is something we don’t know? Anyone?

Silly me, I thought 3 strikes and you’re out !

In Rabuka’s Fiji, they promote you to be the acting prime minister of the country !!

I suppose we should be grateful for small mercies. I mean he could have promoted that person known as the “Minister for Weed and Boning” to be acting PM !!!

In masi polo players worth their salt (and spit) cannot strike out.

Vosarogo’s fans are on overdrive. That he is best choice for next PM. And Vosarogo is putting on a grand show issuing statements, giving approvals for land acquisitions, warning people against violence.

A cake from his staff has also helped as Ben Kush mentioned, there is no harm in eating cake, because BK also has a Fan club giving him free coffees, lunches and dinners. These are little piggies feeding at smaller troughs. They are eyeing the gravy train hence patting each other’s back.

Linda is rather quiet again. Probably sulking because the old codger took his wife to Japan.

I wonder what the President is up to in India.

WRONG; Trump twice impeached, 38 indictments is the POTUS. So not only in Fiji .

Vosaroga has been duly elected to Parliament and there’s nothing in the law that says he cannot be PM.

I hope I am wrong but this lot control the public purse, the media, the civil service, the military, the police.

Wait for the lolly scramble for our fickle and gullible voter to fall for, yet again.

The majority of iTaukei condone, approve or are indifferent as long as the other lot are marginalized by government policies.

Even better that the Indo Fijians are leaving for greener pastures in droves and their votes are diluted by migration or apathy .

Besides the government does not care for Indo Fijian votes.

They will simply induct them as Uncle Tom Ministers!

I don’t think they will lose any election soon as voting in Fiji is entrenched along ethnic lines

Love him or hate him,Frank probably was the last leader who represented both communities.

        Let’s get real.

Trump has 34 convictions, including sexual assault. He owes the victim 300+m in damages.

Do we want to set the bar that low?

Many thugs were elected. Hitler. Mosalini. Allende. Erdogan. Orban. Marcos.

The idea is to avoid facism. Avoid dictatorships. Avoid lowering our standards. Honor integrity, honesty, transparency, and government by the people made up of virtuous and competence.

Or have we forgotten the pre-2022 dictatorship? This lot is not too different-no free press, no free speech, corrupt judiciary, corrupt government ministers, and corrupt police where the drug unit sells drugs.

Once integrity standards drop or are ignored, however small, the rot sets in. It is important that people in government are of impeccable character.

Porn and weed queen tart is a minister. Two deputy prime ministers are facing serious criminal charges.

Abusing trust fund money, arrogance, adulterers, double dipping from public coffers do not set good examples to our youth.

When will Fiji get back to good governance. When will the public have decent health services.

Not while we have a group of immoral uncaring people in government.

Do a bit more digging and you’ll find what else Vosarogo has been up to in his so called illustrious career as lawyer and politician.

One thing is glaringly obvious and clear, for those who know him, have worked with him, just like his boci uncle Rambo, Vosarogo is equally, if not worse, than his uncle when it comes to racism. They both do a damn good job of hiding it.

Dig deeper and you’ll find links or rather flings with Laurel Vaurasi and Barbara Malimali – yep that Malimali who is somewhat of a public park…anyone can cum, and play and leave, and go back for seconds, thirds…

How could I forget…Lynda. forgot to add her to my list of flings Vosarogo has had amongst many. And yes, indeed, Mrs Vosarogo has had run ins with Malimali and Laurel too.

Not surprisingly these happen during conferences like the AG’s and Law Society conventions.

May I just add…there is nothing DIVINE about Shekinah (Laurel’s law firm name – Hebrew word). Perhaps Vosarogo may have other opinions of how Divine Laurel is. And Mamlakah Law (Hebrew for Kingdom) is/was Vosarogo’s firm name.

Both are hard core zionists under cover.

These days, they wait for the Government to change and be rewarded…some to the top Legal and administrative positions. It appears, no-one including the Law Society, sees anything wrong in all this.

Grubsheet is one of the rare voices we have who is trying to keep the bastards honest.

As Thomas Paine warned back in 1776, “A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody.”

That truth is as urgent for Fiji today as it was for democracy then.

While the nation’s leadership resembles a courtroom waiting list, we now have an Acting Prime Minister with three misconduct findings to his name.

Anywhere else that would end a career. In Fiji it seems to be a qualification.

George Washington once cautioned, “Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder.”

Nepotism, recycled faces, and political baggage have become the order of the day. Integrity is treated like an optional extra, and the public is expected to clap politely while the barrel is scraped clean.

GD is right. The clock is ticking.

Next year’s election must be about competence and credibility, not family ties and faded reputations or as Honest Abe reminded us, “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”

Fiji needs leaders of honour, integrity and truth, committed to the people, not tourists in suits collecting salaries and snapshots.

And let us not forget Plato’s timeless warning: “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”

Because really, if this is the best Fiji can muster, we might as well hand out clown wigs at Cabinet meetings and call it a circus.

At least then the public would know what they’re paying for.

It has received over 1100 comments, over 11,000 impressions and reshared over 110 times.

Then look at Baiman Prasad’s recent pictures. Less then 500 comments, less then 30 likes with no re-sharing.

It says a lot about what the Fijians think of this government and its corrupt cabal of despots.

    The silence is deafening.

Also Madam Slut Queen, Lynda Tabuya, and then the major one to be shocked about is none other than Ms Hibiscus Queen XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX who has been seen in strange hotels with Vosarogo. They are supposed to be close family friends. Special emphasis on close!

Poor Sera Vosarogo knows all about these and chooses to stay and look the other way .

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
