# A CROOK AND HIS SHOCKING ABUSE OF POWER

Posted on August 24, 2024 40 Comments

Mahendra "Mac" Patel is a fugitive from Fijian justice who fled to Australia rather than face trial in Fiji on charges of corruptly using his position as Chair of Post Fiji to instruct the Post Office to buy a clock for the Suva GPO from his own business. Motibhai and Company. The Motibhais from Ba also happen to own the Fiji Times. And in an … [Read more...] about # A CROOK AND HIS SHOCKING ABUSE OF POWER

# HANG ‘EM. CRUSH ‘EM. THE MINISTER FOR WEED TRIGGERS A FLOOD OF “VERBAL DIARRHOEA” (UPDATED SATURDAY)

Posted on August 23, 2024 17 Comments

Proof conclusive that Manoa Kamikamica is unfit to ever be prime minister - his endorsement of Lynda Tabuya's latest "look at me, look at me" suggestion that Fiji reintroduce the death penalty for drug traffickers. Not content with having endorsed her unconscionable salary increases for MPs ("We'll work harder if we get more money") the Deputy … [Read more...] about # HANG ‘EM. CRUSH ‘EM. # TRIBUNAL JUDGES ACKNOWLEDGE DPP’S DEFENCE IS CRIPPLED BY SALARY SUSPENSION

Posted on August 22, 2024 14 Comments

It is a shocking denial of natural justice that the suspended DPP, Christopher Pryde, has been denied the ability to adequately defend himself against allegations of misbehaviour through the unilateral decision by the head of the Judicial Services Commission, the Acting Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, to terminate his salary. Yet there are clear signs … [Read more...] about # TRIBUNAL JUDGES ACKNOWLEDGE DPP’S DEFENCE IS CRIPPLED BY SALARY SUSPENSION

# DOES THE “MARAMA WALLAH” ALSO SUPPORT THE DEATH PENALTY FOR DRUG DEALERS?

Posted on August 21, 2024 6 Comments

Sashi Kiran - the NFP's Assistant Minister for Women and Children - happily sat next to Lynda Tabuya, her principal, yesterday as the Minister for Bonking and Weed publicly advocated the death penalty for drug dealers in one of the most astonishing interventions yet by any Coalition minister on the national drugs crisis. Does Sashi Kiran agree … [Read more...] about # DOES THE “MARAMA WALLAH” ALSO SUPPORT THE DEATH PENALTY FOR DRUG DEALERS?

# ONE TOKE TOO MANY FOR THE CRAZED, WEED-ADDLED QUEEN OF TARTS

Posted on August 21, 2024 11 Comments

Lynda Tabuya has well and truly lost the plot. Did she clear this madness with the Prime Minister before she shot her mouth off calling for drug dealers to be hanged? ( The method of execution in Fiji until George Speight was pardoned) The woman is clearly nuts. Off with her head. Or at least strip her of her cabinet portfolio. Because she is a … [Read more...] about # ONE TOKE TOO MANY FOR THE CRAZED, WEED-ADDLED QUEEN OF TARTS

# THE BIG KOWTOW. WHEN ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

Posted on August 21, 2024 26 Comments

Like a QVS schoolboy receiving a prize from the headmaster, Sitiveni Rabuka grasps the hand of the Chinese dictator in a manner that indicates deep respect and subservience. It says everything about the Coalition's kowtowing to China at the same time as it takes hundreds of millions of dollars from Australia to meet its budget shortfalls and fix … [Read more...] about # THE BIG KOWTOW. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
