# LYNDA TABUYA. A CHINESE AGENT OF INFLUENCE?

Posted on June 24, 2024 26 Comments

It beggars belief that the already embattled Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, should be enveloped in a fresh scandal on top of her sex and drug escapade in Melbourne and her savage attack on the Deputy Prime Minister, Biman Prasad. Yet she now faces serious questions about her relationship with the Chinese … [Read more...] about # LYNDA TABUYA. A CHINESE AGENT OF INFLUENCE?

# THE COALITION’S FESTERING WOUND

Posted on June 23, 2024 18 Comments

Yet again, the embattled Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, has had to be sidelined from the offical photo of an event at which she presided to save the other participants from embarrassment. Readers of the Sunday Times were treated to prominent coverage of Lynda Tabuya's speech at a Pacific Women's Leaders … [Read more...] about # THE COALITION’S FESTERING WOUND

# THE ODIUS RICHARD NAIDU HURLING BOULDERS FROM A GLASS HOUSE.

Posted on June 22, 2024 22 Comments

Saturday’s Fiji Times contains a great deal of hagiography about the former publisher of the paper, the late Hank Arts – who died last weekend in Australia. Some of it is deserved. Hank Arts was an old school gentleman who was unfailingly courteous and was extremely popular, not only with Fiji Times staff but in the wider community. But some of the … [Read more...] about # THE ODIUS RICHARD NAIDU HURLING BOULDERS FROM A GLASS HOUSE.

# THE PUBLIC WHITE ANTING OF GRAHAM LEUNG

Posted on June 22, 2024 21 Comments

It has taken just two weeks for the ousted attorney general, Siromi Turaga, to muscle in on his successor, Graham Leung, and reopen a can of worms that no longer concerns him – publicly canvassing the prospect of changing the 2013 constitution. Turaga’s comments about the Coalition now being within reach of getting the 75 per cent vote of MPs … [Read more...] about # THE PUBLIC WHITE ANTING OF GRAHAM LEUNG

# RALLY AGAINST THE PAY RISE. 0900 SATURDAY, SUVA CIVIC CENTRE CARPARK. BE THERE!

Posted on June 21, 2024 25 Comments

GD is unwell. But before I take to my sick bed with the flu, here's an important message: Vani for prime minister! She is wiping the floor with Sitiveni Rabuka and the other moral pygmies in government and the opposition. She is fearless, articulate and has the moral clarity the nation needs to really start focusing on the needs of those who … [Read more...] about # RALLY AGAINST THE PAY RISE. 0900 SATURDAY, SUVA CIVIC CENTRE CARPARK. # THE HEAD OF STATE UTTERLY COMPROMISED

Posted on June 20, 2024 34 Comments

Does Fiji now have three foreign ministers – the main Foreign Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, his deputy, Lenora Qereqeretabua and H.E the President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere? It sure looks that way when the President – who is meant to be above politics - represents Fiji at a political gathering of world leaders to muster support for Ukraine against the … [Read more...] about # THE HEAD OF STATE UTTERLY COMPROMISED

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
