# NO, THERE ARE NEVER ANY SURPRISES

Posted on May 15, 2024 12 Comments

What is it about the NFP and its propensity to threaten litigation? Six months after the Chair of the Coalition's Fiscal Review Committee, Richard "I have the means" Naidu, threatened to sue Grubsheet for defamation, the NFP leader, Biman Prasad, is threatening to sue a gaggle of opposition politicians for having the temerity to criticise his … [Read more...] about # NO, THERE ARE NEVER ANY SURPRISES

# THE SNAKE SHEDS HIS “MO” FOR THE 37TH COUP ANNIVERSARY

Posted on May 14, 2024 29 Comments

The moustache that has been Sitiveni Rabuka's trademark ever since he soared to national prominence with his first coup on May 14, 1987, has suddenly gone, as if by shaving the Prime Minister can somehow reinvent himself and get the nation to think about anything else than the horror he inflicted 37 years ago today. The Coalition's PR machine … [Read more...] about # THE SNAKE SHEDS HIS “MO” FOR THE 37TH COUP ANNIVERSARY

# A PRIME MINISTER UTTERLY WITHOUT SHAME

Posted on May 13, 2024 26 Comments

It is 37 years today (Tuesday) since Sitiveni Rabuka carried out the first of his two coups to assert indigenous supremacy in Fiji, triggering an exodus of tens of thousands of the nation's best and brightest people. He has also condoned the use of the word "vulagi" among iTaukei to refer to the nation's minorities - condemning them to be … [Read more...] about # A PRIME MINISTER UTTERLY WITHOUT SHAME

# SIROMI TURAGA’S SPECTACULAR OWN GOAL

Posted on May 12, 2024 21 Comments

No wonder Sitiveni Rabuka wants to replace the Attorney General, Siromi Turaga, as soon as possible. It isn't just the complaints from the President down about Turaga's grave mishandling - before he became AG - of the divorce proceedings of a senior military officer that has resulted in the man's wife committing bigamy in the US. Now Turaga has … [Read more...] about # SIROMI TURAGA’S SPECTACULAR OWN GOAL

# DISCOMBOBULATING RANDOM JOTTINGS

Posted on May 12, 2024 21 Comments

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to identify the source of the leaked image of the newly-jailed disgraced Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho, which surfaced on social media on Friday. It is clearly from a prison security camera, which tells us two things. The rotten apples violating Qiliho's privacy are warders in the control room of the … [Read more...] about # DISCOMBOBULATING RANDOM JOTTINGS

# ZHAO FUGANG’S CHINESE BURN

Posted on May 11, 2024 19 Comments

The Yue Lai yum cha czar, Zhao Fugang, has been on a local PR blitz to rubbish the Nine Media's reporting that he is a priority target of Australia's intelligence services for allegedly running the region's biggest drug trafficking syndicate. But he has fallen at the first hurdle with his claim that Nick Mckenzie - the 60 Minutes and Nine newspaper … [Read more...] about # ZHAO FUGANG’S CHINESE BURN

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
