# THE NEW FIJI. STOMPING ON SOMEONE WHEN THEY’RE DOWN

Posted on April 28, 2024 12 Comments

Fiji's reputation for sportsmanship is being dragged through the mud in Australia after Fijian Drua player Jennifer Ravutia stomped on a NSW player's chest in the Drua's clash against the Waratahs. It was an absolute disgrace that has brought shame on the player, the team and the nation. The Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, made light of the … [Read more...] about # THE NEW FIJI. # WELL THAT WAS A DUMB IDEA

Posted on April 28, 2024 17 Comments

The qori ( "there, that's what you deserve") moment of the week has got to be the slapping-down of Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Mohammed Saneem by two of the three Supreme Court judges hearing the cabinet's application to determine if the Constitution actually permits the appointments of John Rabuku as Acting DPP and Alipate Qetaki as a … [Read more...] about # WELL THAT WAS A DUMB IDEA

# THE GCC REVIEW LEAVES PROFESSOR WADAN NARSEY UNDERWHELMED

Posted on April 27, 2024 15 Comments

It is buried on pages 42 and 43 of Saturday's Fiji Times but Professor Wadan Narsey is clearly tackling the fundamental intellectual premise of the report into the Great Council of Chiefs carried out by the review panel headed by his fellow Australian-based academic and former RFMF officer, Dr Ratu Jone Baledrokadroka. Grubsheet's own analysis … [Read more...] about # THE GCC REVIEW LEAVES PROFESSOR WADAN NARSEY UNDERWHELMED

# THE IMPORTANCE OF TALKING TO SHEEP (UPDATED SUN AM)

Posted on April 27, 2024 17 Comments

Just as Grubsheet has undergone a crisis of confidence about whether to keep trying to influence events in Fiji because they just go from bad to worse, words of encouragement have come from an unlikely source in the form of William, Prince of Wales. He says it is very important to talk to sheep and ask them how they feel. He doesn't precisely … [Read more...] about # THE IMPORTANCE OF TALKING TO SHEEP (UPDATED SUN AM)

# THE PERVERSE NEW ERA OF “MEDIA FREEDOM” (AND OTHER PERVERSITIES)

Posted on April 26, 2024 11 Comments

Who made the decision to bar the media from the swearing in ceremony at State House of the reappointed Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro? And who requested it? Was it Radrodro himself? Radrodro's wife, Sainiana, concerned about journalists scrutinising the body language between her and her love rat? The Prime Minister wasn't present so it's … [Read more...] about # THE PERVERSE NEW ERA OF “MEDIA FREEDOM” (AND OTHER PERVERSITIES)

# SANCTIMONIOUS HYPOCRISY FROM THE COALITION’S RESIDENT TROLLOP

Posted on April 25, 2024 18 Comments

Lynda Tabuya - the Minister for Women and Children - cares so much about domestic violence that she had "brutal" sex in Room 233 of the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne last August with Aseri Radrodro - the newly reappointed Minister for Education - who anally raped and almost killed his former wife, the Prime Minister's daughter, in a savage domestic … [Read more...] about # SANCTIMONIOUS HYPOCRISY FROM THE COALITION’S RESIDENT TROLLOP

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
