# THE ADMISSION THAT SPELLS BIG TROUBLE FOR “DIGGER” BEN NALIVA

Posted on February 8, 2024 1 Comment

Until now, the Australian Defence Force has publicly stuck to the story that it took the word of the Fijian government and the RFMF that Colonel Ben Naliva was a suitable candidate to become Deputy Commander of the 7th Brigade of the ADF. But buried in an official statement reported by the Fiji Times is the killer line that before he was appointed, … [Read more...] about # THE ADMISSION THAT SPELLS BIG TROUBLE FOR “DIGGER” BEN NALIVA

The nation’s foremost campaigner against pornography got Grubsheet kicked off Facebook and complained to the Australian government’s eSafety Commissioner that we didn’t have her consent to publish the pornographic images she took of herself and she sent to her lover, Aseri Radrodro. Yet Lynda Tabuya thinks nothing of defying Fiji’s Online Safety … [Read more...] about # THE BRUTAL HYPOCRISY OF LYNDA TABUYA

# IT DOESN’T TAKE A GENIUS…(UPDATED)

Posted on February 6, 2024 11 Comments

Why would the Fijian government and a compliant RFMF want to send one of Frank Bainimarama's most loyal supporters in the military to Australia to be deputy head of a brigade in the Australian Defence Force? Qori. And so it begins... the first of a string of new charges that are said to be in the pipeline to nail the former Prime Minister to the … [Read more...] about # IT DOESN’T TAKE A GENIUS…(UPDATED)

# NEWS OF AN UNLAWFUL “WHITE” SACKING 10 DAYS LATE

Posted on February 5, 2024 6 Comments

It says a great deal about the sorry state of the Fijian media that it has taken 10 days for the shocking details of the story that Grubsheet broke on January 24 - "The Crime of Being White" - to make the mainstream media, not in Fiji but New Zealand. In that story, we detailed how the illegal Acting DPP, John Rabuku, dismissed his Assistant, … [Read more...] about # NEWS OF AN UNLAWFUL “WHITE” SACKING 10 DAYS LATE

# THE MAJOR GENERAL’S MAJOR CREDIBILITY GAP

Posted on February 5, 2024 2 Comments

The RFMF Commander, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, suddenly has a big credibility problem arising from today's Fiji Times front page story in which he says there is "nothing to prove" that human rights abuses were carried out by Colonel Penioni (Ben) Naliva, who has been appointed Deputy Commander of the 7th Brigade of the Australian Army. … [Read more...] about # THE MAJOR GENERAL’S MAJOR CREDIBILITY GAP

# A POINTLESS BLAME GAME

Posted on February 4, 2024 16 Comments

The nation is being treated to a fresh round of finger pointing this weekend as both sides of politics react to the warning by the Governor of the Reserve Bank that Fiji is in for a challenging year as the economy loses some of the momentum of the post-Covid recovery. It was as certain as night follows day that the FijiFirst opposition would … [Read more...] about # A POINTLESS BLAME GAME

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
