# THE 2025-26 BUDGET: BIMAN’S BIG CON. PART ONE (UPDATED)

Posted on June 30, 2025 8 Comments

As the dust settles from the Coalition's budget announcement for 2025-26, the hype of providing relief for the Fijian people from cost-of-living pressures is giving way to some disturbing conclusions for anyone concerned about the proper management of the economy. The embattled Finance Minister, Biman Prasad, may be a professor of economics but … [Read more...] about # THE 2025-26 BUDGET: BIMAN’S BIG CON. PART ONE (UPDATED)

# VOX POPULI. A SALUTE TO MY READERS

Posted on June 28, 2025 25 Comments

A corrupt leadership, the trashing of our institutions of state, heightened racism and a pre-election budget yesterday that sends the nation's debt soaring have combined to give Grubsheet a sense of despair this weekend about the nation's future. But then I read some of the comments of my readers and realise that not all hope is lost. I always … [Read more...] about # VOX POPULI. A SALUTE TO MY READERS

# THE CORRUPT TRIUMVIRATE OF THE PRIME MINISTER, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF JUSTICE TEAR DOWN THE RULE OF LAW

Posted on June 26, 2025 27 Comments

For the first time in Fijian judicial history, a sitting Chief Justice who has been accused by a Supreme Court Commission of Inquiry of lying under oath, perverting the course of justice and abusing his office is being allowed to remain in office. And worse, now sits in judgment in a criminal trial of national importance when he faces the prospect … [Read more...] about # THE CORRUPT TRIUMVIRATE OF THE PRIME MINISTER, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF JUSTICE TEAR DOWN THE RULE OF LAW

# ROLL UP, ROLL UP! WHEN THE COALITION RELEASES A CENSORED VERSION OF THE COI REPORT, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO READ THE UNCENSORED VERSION HERE. GO FIGURE

Posted on June 26, 2025 10 Comments

The Prime Minister has given Grubsheet a massive free kick with his announcement that the government is to allow "electronic" public access to a redacted version of the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry Report into the Barbara Malimali affair. You will soon be able to read a censored version presumably on a Department of Information website. … [Read more...] about # ROLL UP, ROLL UP! # PONTIUS SITI WASHES HIS HANDS OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH SALESI TEMO WITH A BIG LASULASU-JHOOT

Posted on June 25, 2025 35 Comments

So Fiji is to be saddled with a corrupt Chief Justice who stands accused by a judicial inquiry of abuse of office and obstructing and perverting the course of justice because the Prime Minister says he is powerless to remove him. Sitiveni Rabuka does a Pontius Pilate and washes his hands of any responsibility to deal with Salesi Temo with an … [Read more...] about # PONTIUS SITI WASHES HIS HANDS OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH SALESI TEMO WITH A BIG LASULASU-JHOOT

# DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH SITI, THE CHIEF JUSTICE GETS A NEW “PRESIDENTIAL” VEHICLE DESPITE FACING CORRUPTION CHARGES AND BEING JUST PLAIN DUMB

Posted on June 24, 2025 31 Comments

It beggars belief that the Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, is still in place despite the devastating findings against him by the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry into the Malimali Affair. But community incredulity will soar to an entirely new level with the news that the CJ is getting a new SUV to carry him around in the splendour to which he thinks … [Read more...] about # DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH SITI, THE CHIEF JUSTICE GETS A NEW “PRESIDENTIAL” VEHICLE DESPITE FACING CORRUPTION CHARGES AND BEING JUST PLAIN DUMB

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
