# ON THE WARPATH. THE DPP SAYS THE OUTCOME OF HIS TRIAL IS A FOREGONE CONCLUSION

Posted on December 12, 2024 2 Comments

Fiji's international reputation and its ability to attract foreign investment and workers has taken a huge hit with the Coalition's treatment of the DPP, Christopher Pryde, who gives a "gloves off" interview to Radio New Zealand almost a week after the conclusion of the judicial Tribunal hearing into the allegations of misbehaviour against him that … [Read more...] about # ON THE WARPATH. # BYE-BYE BARBIE. A DEAD WOMAN WALKING

Posted on December 12, 2024 14 Comments

The ongoing upheavals in the criminal justice system simply cannot continue if the Coalition is to have any chance of retaining public confidence in the rule of law, let alone of winning the 2026 election. And that means replacing Barbara Malimali, the one-woman stumbling disaster at FICAC, as well as the "guilty of professional misconduct" … [Read more...] about # BYE-BYE BARBIE. A DEAD WOMAN WALKING

# THE FACE OF A SHOCKING COLLAPSE OF GOVERNANCE

Posted on December 11, 2024 19 Comments

The antics of the FICAC Commissioner, Barbara Malimali, go from bad to worse as she breaks every single convention expected of those in high office and of someone currently under judicial investigation. The record shows that whatever emerges about the "rotten" circumstances of her appointment - the Prime Minister's description, not mine - Barbara … [Read more...] about # THE FACE OF A SHOCKING COLLAPSE OF GOVERNANCE

# REALITY CHECK. THE CONSTITUTION WILL NOT BE CHANGED ANY TIME SOON

Posted on December 10, 2024 16 Comments

The Attorney General, Graham Leung, reaches for the Bible for inspiration to tell the nation through both dailies today that it will be easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than to change the 2013 Constitution. The AG goes on to say that constitutional change is still on the "front burner" for the Coalition government. But he is … [Read more...] about # REALITY CHECK. # WANT TO KNOW WHY STANDARDS OF PUBLIC CONDUCT HAVE COLLAPSED? IT STARTS AT THE TOP. (UPDATED TUES AM)

Posted on December 9, 2024 42 Comments

The Acting Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, has compounded the outrage of his false allegation of stealing against the DPP, Christopher Pryde, with an astonishing speech in which he defends the notion of convicted criminals becoming lawyers. The following is what Temo told the legal profession in remarks at the annual Attorney General's Conference … [Read more...] about # WANT TO KNOW WHY STANDARDS OF PUBLIC CONDUCT HAVE COLLAPSED? # EXPOSED. THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE’S LIE ABOUT THE DPP “STEALING”.

Posted on December 7, 2024 23 Comments

Of all the long line of witnesses at the Tribunal hearing the allegations of misbehaviour against the DPP, Christopher Pryde - from Pryde's driver to Charan Jeath Singh - the most important came late in the proceedings on Friday in the form of the Permanent Secretary for Finance, Shiri Gounder. Because in testimony that has largely gone under the … [Read more...] about # EXPOSED. THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE’S LIE ABOUT THE DPP “STEALING”.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
