# PLAY CALLED OFF DUE TO INJURY

Posted on November 26, 2025 10 Comments

GD has been sidelined by an injury which prevents me from using a computer keyboard for the moment. It means that I am unable to post my usual articles until further notice. I very much regret the temporary suspension of service but please look out for CommonMan’s articles on weekends.

I seek the understanding of my readers and salute them for their loyalty over the years. (On second thoughts, I can’t salute either)

Vinaka vakalevu.

Hope whatever it is, it will not deter you from returning to the keyboard when you are up to it.
I’m sure I speak for many of your readers when I say that I miss your daily updates on the serious condition this country is in, whenever there isn’t a story to read.

I have given up buying newspapers now, so my news about Fiji comes solely from you and I would be thoroughly lost without it.

Take care and get well soon, and please keep up the great work that you do, when you are able.

It is very much appreciated by me and I’m sure by many more, out there.

You are absolutely right Davo about news from Grubsheet that is timely and revealed with truth. I would have never known of all the these hidden truths if it had not been for Mr. Graham’s timely updates.

In fact I have lost trust in the reporting of the local newspaper journalists who seem to be biased in their reporting.

I begin my day with Graham’s news updates and thank him for all his hard work in doing us this great favour.

The local dailies are careful what they print. On one hand Fiji Times controlled by the Motibhai’s and censored by Richard ‘i have the means’ Naidu. Fiji Sun inconsistent wirh half truths. FBC is a no show and CFL with the now censored Vijay Narayan is such a disappointment. Vijay used to go all out on the Bainimarama government but now it seems he has done a gentleman handshake with the current government. So GD, we need you like the desert misses the rain! Speedy recovery.

Not a “gentleman” handshake, a “snake charmers” spell.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
