# SO A CONVICTED CRIMINAL AND ALLEGED CHILD ABUSER BECOMES OUR HEAD OF STATE (UPDATED)

Posted on October 31, 2024 62 Comments

I have never been more ashamed to be Fijian. In fact it is the first time I have ever been ashamed to be Fijian in my seven decades on this earth.

To have a convicted criminal at the apex of the state is intolerable. And I am speechless with rage that a government that promised better standards would so grievously betray the nation’s trust.

Please feel free, Dear Readers, to leave your comments here. But I will not be writing anything more until I have regained my composure. Regaining my equilibrium is another matter altogether.

When I think of the hundreds of thousands, no, millions of decent people over the decades who have devoted their lives to trying to build the Fijian nation and how they have been betrayed, I just want to be sick.

I am usually a man of peace. But I also have an overwhelming desire to punch Biman Prasad‘s lights out. A pathetic quisling of the Snake, Sitiveni Rabuka, who enters history as the Great Betrayer and isn’t fit to polish the shoes of Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

But remember the old maxim, Fiji. Don’t get mad, get even. Baimaan will get his comeuppance at the next election. But his stain on the history of a once great party and his stain on the history of Fiji will never be erased.

Biman Prasad

They say you can tell a person by the company they keep. So we are entitled to wonder how the Assistant Minister for Women and Children can possibly be photographed with a man accused of underage sex, and with a proven history of misogyny, racism and insurrection against the state.

Sashi Kiran is also a complete disgrace. The resident “tame Indian” willing to enable and act as a prop for a convicted criminal and excuse the inexcusable.

And what does the body language tell us? That Sashi Kiran is a lot happier being photographed with Naiqama Lalabalavu than he is being photographed with her.

Once a racist always a racist. The fools of the NFP have been duped.

We have finally hit rock bottom.

I cannot think of anything else that can be worse than this.

    Sad, sad, sad.

Embarrassed to be a Fijian, a native Fijian, and embarrassed at all the politicians voting for this crime and all Fijians supporting it blindly.

The issue is that it would be difficult to find many itaukei persons who would qualify for a senior appointment with an unblemished record. You would find that other races would have capable people with a clean record but they would not be considered. Some people are appointed while they are also being investigated. So if the President wanted to visit Australia, could he be denied a visa because of his criminal history?

When will Fiji’s “groaning” ever end????

“When the righteous [a]are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2.

    Groaning ”
    gron (na’aq, ‘anaq; stenazo, embrimaomai):
The English word, noun and verb, is an attempt to imitate the vocal sound which is expressive of severe pain or distress, physical or mental. It is cognate with the Scottish dialect word girn, “grin is a translation of hamah, and means the sound of the nightly howling of the pariah dogs in Jerusalem and other oriental cities. It is used in the Old Testament:
    (1) To denote the expression accompanying physical suffering, as in the case of the Israelites in Egypt oppressed by Pharaoh’s taskmasters,
    (2) The expression of suffering on the part of beasts, hungry and thirsty in drought
    (3) The manifestation of mental and spiritual distress
    (4) Metaphorically, groaning is the despairing note of Egypt in the prophecy of her overthrow by Babylon, the sound being that uttered by a deadly wounded man.
Na’aq is the crying of persons dying or starvingmeans the complaining sound like that of the cooing of doves.
In the New Testament “groaning” is used for the expression of mental distress. In John 11:33,15 the word used is part of the verb embrimaomai, which conveys the idea of deep and earnest emotion. The same word in two other passages is translated “strictly charged,” and indicates the emphasis of the charge .Elsewhere “sighing” and “groaning” are renderings of words derived from the verb stenazo, (source- biblestudytools.com)

Groaning…In Fijian villages cases could mean, groaning of hunger pains, unavailability of urgent health services for rural communities, long walks in the rain on muddy tracks, facing torrent river crossing for school children as young a 5-6 in rural areas, intergenerational groaning of squatter citizens, groaning for unavailable business and commercial activity while that stand by bitting their nail when mega Hotels, Manufacturers, Produce buyers and mega super market are built around villages for the benefit of others…..oh of course, jobs for the villager in housekeeping, serving drinks whose price of a glass of beverage is more that their hourly rate.

The intergenerational groaning has been echoing for generations, and we all thought the groaning may subside 100 days after 01/01/2023…uh….we were all wrong. Groaning may be louder now!!…for only “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice”.

    We pray for that day!!

Punch them hard. I also want to punch my business suppliers in Fiji. All liars, incompetant or both. They will promise a bag of onions and send you a bag half full of stones and the rest potatoes. All liars. A nation of thieves, conmen and savages. And Bai was bold and forthright enough to say on Australian radio during the pandemic about – not very well educated or words to that effect. The context was “a population not as disciplined or disposed to following rules and mandates made with the best interest of society as understood at that time”.

So Mr Rabuka has nominated not only a pedo, he also a terminator. He is back, to haunt Kaiyum. Kaiyum and Bainimarama can kiss their mercy appeals goodbye and good night. Happy Diwali all.

I commend the G16 bloc for their principled stance on not voting for Naiqama but supporting their own candidate.

Though unsuccessful, they have demonstrated a commitment to integrity, standing on high moral ground – a clear contrast to G-9 block, their former colleagues.

It was anticipated that Biman Prasad and his team, loyal only to appeasing Rabuka, would support him uncritically to secure their ministerial positions within the Coalition. This vote is another example of Biman’s troubling priorities. By supporting a known misogynist, he has lost the respect of many Fijians who now see him for what he truly is: self-serving and untrustworthy.

The unexpected disappointment, however, was Aliki Bia’s support for Naiqama. Many sympathized with him on Naiqama’s outburst in Parliament against Fijians of Solomon Islands decent. As an independent member, he should have resisted pressures from his G9 colleagues. Instead, he appears to have caved under pressure, possibly driven by hopes of securing a ministerial position in a future arrangement. Aliki Bia had the choice to align with the G-16 bloc, or as a minimum, abstain.

This lack of integrity speaks volumes. Politicians like Aliki Bia are double faced, willing to abandon principles for political gain. Such spinelessness does not inspire trust.

For now, Biman and Radrodro (rudderless SODELPA) may feel secure in their ministerial roles, but the tides are shifting. With growing discontent in PAP and multiple ministers under investigation, the G-9 bloc ‘s leverage with the Coalition is only increasing. The pressure for Rabuka to reward the G-9 members will likely rise, changing the dynamics further. G-9 holds the balance of power for Rabuka.

In addition, we must question the actions of Coalition women leaders, backing a misogynist. Lynda (was expexted), Shashi, and Alitia’s actions betray the very principles they have to uphold, casting doubt on their credibility as policy makers. How can they champion women’s rights while supporting those who openly disregard them. There is only one woman in the opposition, and as always, she stood her ground.

The erosion of Fiji’s democratic independence and integrity is now evident. With Shashi leading the charge on TRC, her support of a misogynist raises further doubts about her understanding of justice and reconciliation. Lynda and Shashi are not fit to protect and support women and children of Fiji.

In these troubling times, with so many things going wrong, only a miracle can save Fiji from the clutches of these political vultures.

Please give us a break. What our Ratu Naiqama did was in the past, many years ago. The victim is not complaining. If she is not complaining, why are others harping about it. The police can not investigate unless a report is filed against him.
As far as Be-imaan is concerned, we should appreciate he is trouble without Rabuka’s help. He will be charged, but later when PAP do not need him.
it is a matter of time. Wait till G-9 members allegiance is formulated with PAP.
Rambo will be comfortable to get is big stick out for Be-imaan’s back side.

We will the major embarrassment at every one of these events…we will be laughed at as a nation and our country will be thought of as a dumb third world backwater where criminals of the highest order are given the top job of representing the country on the world stage. Pretty soon the whole world will become aware of our president’s debauchery and criminal background and all the decades of hard work to build our reputation internationally will lost in about a year.

The international media will write funny and deamening stories about fiji and all fijians. Our reputation will be flushed down the toilet. Every time naiqama is introduced at any international event to anyone…there will sniggering in the background and peels of laughter later as the people realize that fiji just sent it’s ex con pedo president to represent a once proud and respected nation.

Meanwhile biman and his merry men and women of the NFP will still be lining up to suck rabukas c*** even harder cos they would have by then realized that baritone buka the viper was ready to pounce on them the same way he dug his fangs into the unsuspecting fat dumb ass viliame “shrek” katonivere who was liumuried, and blackmailed at the last minute by fijis most evil bastard.
Fat shrek will now disappear a broken and nervous man into the sunset. Yet another ex president with no more respect and mana left ….even by the own people.Meanwhile our new pedo pres will mount all sorts of nonsense on the country with the help of the viper…this will include also the further chaos in the military cos he is after all the commander in chief.

There is yet more chaos and destruction looming people.. the vanua will soon be at each other’s throats with a full on conflict between provinces and tribes and the military will sucked and split at the same time.

Fiji will be f**ked.. a once proud nation will be a shadow of itself…laughed at world stage and empty within….all thanks to the legacy of the country’s most evil man…who some dumb bastards gave two chances to f**k us up….you lot deserve him and his chaos.

The country has some hope or nothing. Look at the Hibiscus contestants and queen this year. Just one disappointment after another. These young women cannot even hold a sentence together without using “like.” They cannot speak with context in mind on any subject of importance. The nation is so doomed if this is the level of intelligence in the country. Seems more like Miss Hibiscus might as well stand on the side and let her mother be the winner 😂

Indeed, what a sad state of affairs Fiji is in. Rabuka has been emboldened to make such horrendous decisions around governance. His circle of advisers and supporters have contributed greatly, however, the buck stops with him. He could have stopped a lot of these decisions before they got mileage. But he didn’t, simply because he has an alternative agenda.

His comments about protecting the outgoing President gives another insight into the corrupt nature of the man. He thinks that black mailing is a good thing, and in this case just so that he could get his paedo chief into office.

And I agree, and hope, that the women in parliament who voted for paedo president will sit down with their daughters, look them in the eyes and tell them that they voted for a sexual predator to be their country’s president for the next four years. This is the “Fiji way”. Forgive, kakase, back stab, liu muri, and smiling all the while.

I am ashamed of my country and its leaders. We have now officially become the South Pacific version of Zimbabwe. I will never refer to the president as Ratu, but as president paedo. The more this label gets stuck, who knows, it may cause him to resign in shame. What a sick joke Rabuka has played on the people of Fiji.
Can image the overseas media highlighting his record/background.
Macawa, bhekar, piece of garbage floating around government.
Thanks Lenora, you have achieved your goal of becoming speaker. Why else would you have voted for the paedo?

Lalabalavu has always been the master manipulator ! Rabuka simply sings to his tune ! Rabuka doesn’t own the men in PAP! Rather- Tui Cakau does! Rabuka’s survival is dependent on Tui Cakau being happy with him. Rabuka did a desperate about turn when he sacked Peter Wise the brother in law of Tui Cakau. That’s when Tui Cakau threatened to end Rabuka’s reign as PM with a vote of no confidence from within PAP! Rabuka smelled the death sentence and quickly made amends by appointing Tui Cakau as President because he knows Tui Cakau has always seen his political career end at that highest office!

It was either appoint him or lose his PM seat! Obviously Rabuka needs the money so he has to keep Tui Cakau happy. Otherwise it would be an early return to bottle collecting for the useless Rabuka who after his defeat in 1999 at the elections has been unemployable ever since until he joined Sodelpa in 2016. The Party he intentionally tore apart.

GD Rabuka has never been a smart man. He’s an opportunist like his band of desperate people in PAP and he should not wonder that there is now a possible break away party within his own party. He did that to Sodelpa anyway and destroyed the party that the late Qarase worked so hard to establish with his loyal supporters.

Interestingly we see Laisenia Qarase Jnr has been made President of Sodelpa in USA- that may ignite some interest back into the Sodelpa Party. However I’m not sure whether the adulterous Sodelpa Party leader can successfully lead Sodelpa into a victory at the polls in 2026! Radrodro has so much baggage with him! But GD cows do fly in Fiji so let’s not hold our breaths for decency and doing the right thing !

Fijian voters get what they deserve! Too much kakase and racism in this small nation! Frank must be laughing his head off in prison!

In the meantime Jitoko will be the next speaker !

You have hit the nail in the head. Rabuka the recycled bottle collector is being led. He is not the leader. He is extremely stupid in that regards. Behind him are stronger and most evil of racist men/chiefs pulling the strings.

These were the exact words Laisenia Qarase said to his best friend Bachu Bhai of Vinod Patel.
That Qarase had a great difficulty running SDL as he wanted it because of extreme racist pressure from Ratu Naiqama and Adi Temumu , the 2 high chiefs.
Qarase wasn’t racist ,his sidekicks were. The qoloqoli bill was the brain child of the 2 high chiefs .

As long as Qarase collected his cheque every week from Vinod Patel all was good in his hood.
A line of men who had no principles.
They didn’t call him the flowering arshole for no reason in Cakaudrove.

That’s ok. Rabuka will write another book. He is good at making someone the scapegoat of his failures. Always someone else to blame.

PRESIDENT PAEDO! Nice ring in the phrase. The nickname has landed!

And so easily proven (or disproved), just two DNA tests but FICAC won’t organise them.

FICAC needs to organise a special post on its social media pages and thinking how they will do that.
You know that post about their own commissioner under investigation 😂😂

    Explain this to me:

Rabuka says he showed audit reports to Katoniwere and allegations of criminal conduct were discussed. As a result, Katoniwere’s nomination was withdrawn and Rabuka decided to ring Naiqama and nominate him instead.

Rabuka later says he won’t lodge a criminal complaint against Katoniwere and that this is the AG’s role (no its not, anybody can lodge a criminal complaint). He also says that he withdrew Katoniwere’s nomination to protect him, as he is a high chief and he didn’t want Katoniwere to face any disrepute.

What the fk does that mean?

Rabuka is also the same guy who said Ministers don’t need to resign or face suspension when they’re under investigation by FICAC.

He also said Barbara does need to be suspended while she is being investigated by FICAC/CID. Barbara was appointed even tho there was a criminal investigation/sanction of charges against her.

In this case, there is NO criminal complaint against Katoniwere. No investigation. A mere allegation which Rabuka doesnt even want to put forward as a formal complaint. So why was the nomination pulled?

I hope everybody realises the hypocrisy.

Rabuka is aged and is sucking the head! His comments to the media that he approached Katonivere and showed him the audit report that got Katonivere to then withdraw his name from Presidential nominee is little short of blackmail! It’s a crime to abuse your office and influence of authority ! Who are you to suggest someone is criminally charged or not ? That’s the job of the DPP based on evidences available ! Sa sega na madua vei Rabuka! Macuata people take heed! Rabuka held a smoking gun to Katonivere’s brains in order for him to pull out from the presidency contest!

I hope we are still alive to witness the day Rabuka gets charged for all these crimes he is committing !

You have two sets of rules in Fiji.

One for the Ratu’s who are swines and thugs.
      The other for everyday people.

Guess who gets a heavier upper arm and longer prison sentence? We all know the answer.

This who episode of alleged rapist President to be in Fiji has taught i-taukei who are not Ratu’s and Adi’s that you are no body. You are poor and you mean nothing. Welcome to 1987! Your change is here. Just live in poverty says your chiefs (thieves)

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
