# SODELPA’S GUTLESS, HUMILIATING BACKDOWN

Posted on April 20, 2024 10 Comments

The look on the face of the Qaranivalu (second from left) says it all. Humiliating defeat.

Well, so much for that. So much for the pusi-cats of Naitasiri. Aseri Radrodro assumes the leadership of SODELPA but the first thing that he does, presumably with the blessing of his patron – the murderous Qaranivalu, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata – is to give in to the Prime Minister’s insistence that Radrodro won’t be restored to the education portfolio and will become the first party leader in the Coalition to be on the back bench.

No-one else is there. No-one. Not even his love interest, the Minister for Bonking and Weed, who should be there but isn’t. Everyone else is a minister or assistant minister. So Aseri is the ONLY government backbencher. If that’s not humiliation, then I’m the first white “ratu” in the VKB.

Seriously, Fiji. We have gone through days of uncertainty as a nation just for SODELPA to be the first to blink. Sitiveni Rabuka held his ground and has forced his Coalition partner to back down altogether. Total capitulation. Total surrender. What a pathetic bunch of losers! Their conduct beggars belief.

So Aseri Radrodro is SODELPA leader but languishes on the back bench – a joke of a person at every level. A domestic violence abuser, a love rat who cheated on his wife and had “brutal” sex with the “weed”-addled Lynda Tabuya but is now so impotent that he cannot get it up when it really matters – which is to insist that if he is to be elected SODELPA leader, he must be in the cabinet.

These people are the utter pits – the dregs of Fijian politics who will be propelled into political oblivion as soon as the Fijian people get the chance to have a fresh vote.

Aseri Radrodro is so stupid that he is all smiles. But the stricken look on the face of the Qaranivalu says it all. He has been bested by the “Snake” and has been made to look like a fool in the eyes of his own people – a high chief who is totally impotent when it comes to influencing national politics.

What a farce, Fiji. What an effing farce. The sooner these cretins are gone altogether, the better off the nation will be.

This guy is so stupid that he has convinced himself that this was a glorious moment. He can enjoy it on the back bench. Sitiveni Rabuka has called the idiot’s bluff.

What an incredibly disappointing outcome. Sure, all of this SODELPA infighting was for selfish reasons and for Radrodro to grab power and try to force his way in… The least he could have done was make sure he did it properly and pull the government down (funnily enough, probably within the bounds of the law via a vote of no confidence eventually if he got rid of Gavoka and had the numbers on his side) while he was at it. It may have allowed for a good outcome from a bad situation.
Instead, this useless lot reveal themselves to be ineffectual baboons bent over the barrel and spreading. Unbelievable!

So ridiculous. I’m not an economist or treasurer but uncertainty every other month, coupled with some shoddy policing, a judiciary who is headed by a CJ who is obviously biased – surely can’t add up to good investor confidence. Why would anyone want to come and spend their hard earned dollars in a country where there’s political instability, where the police might lock you up on a whim (on a Friday night so you can wait in a cell to be arraigned on Monday), and where the judiciary might be stacked against you!

So incredibly frustrating to watch. And, at the end of the day, it’s your everyday Fijian who gets shafted by this silliness.

Just give them 2 weeks. They will be back to playing little boys again.
Now that they have Aseri as the confirmed leader it is all downhill.
This is officially the Ghost Party.

Q: So, Mr Aseri, who are you?

A: I am no body. A backbencher. Looking pretty and smart and doing nothing. That’s me. A dumb idiot.

Well, this is Fiji. We do things the Fijian way. There is actually no way, we just go with the flow and make things up as we go to suit the circumstances. The iTaukei are special people. They forgive murderous idiots and then put them in the limelight just so that they can show respect to complete dickheads. We iTaukei are unique, we fear a vulagi God, we do things our way not the vulagi way, and then we all wonder why we are where we are. We are complete idiots, but do not let stupidity and idiocy get in the way of keeping the vulagi out of government. In that respect we are all united until the next episode. Remember, this is Fiji. We are very special people. In fact we are god’s chosen people and Israelites living in the Pacific.
    Just ask Gavoka.

`Well it seems that Aseri can be brutal only with a female. Any party leader worth his salt would have demanded a cabinet position and the position of DPM as well.

Unless he is planning something in the background !!

The Civic Centre in Suva was the venue of the AGM of the Sodelpa.

Looking at the low turnout – lots of empty seats – there would have been many more of the faithful in attendance if the AGM was held in Tel Aviv and even more if in Jerusalem ! Fly now FOC (free of charge)

The Qaranivalu Ratu Takiveikata, should not allow himself to be used and abused in this manner. Surely, the years of self-reflection in prison ought to have taught him a thing or two about letting go, when it’s time to let go.

Even if it’s to do with letting go of a party which he founded with good, honourable intentions for his people, but which has since been “hijacked” by nauseating, power-hungry losers like Aseri. The mass exodus of i-taukei from Sodelpa had spoken volumes about i-taukei aspirations looking to embrace a better future for themselves and their ilks.

Yes, Rabuka was not an ideal leader but was probably seen as a convenient and urgent response to the draconian and discriminatory Bai/Khai “16-year rule” that nearly bankrupted the country. He’s definitely on his way out esp. given his extremely poor and unwise leadership over the many scandals that plagued his administration ever since they came into power. The Lynda/Aseri entanglement at taxpayer’s expense, is the latest and most obvious of them all.

Please chiefs of your own vanuas – exercise some commonsense and don’t let yourselves and whatever manna you have, be used in this corrupt manner.

Coalition govt has support of Naitasiri high chief who is pulling the strings in Sodelpa hence Rabuka doesn’t feel threatened from Aseri anymore nor they have powers to challenge decisions of Rabuka cos his cronies and former Sodelpa members are causing disunity amongst the members and board to keep Coalition govt intact and everyone knows they are incompetent, full of corruption and nepotism with NFP being silent partner in crime who will go into political oblivion during next election

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
