You have asked the police to go after anyone who shares the clip in a breathtaking abuse of your ministerial power that ought to trigger your instant dismissal. Except that the Prime Minister is in your thrall and looks like turning another blind eye to your outrageous conduct.
Lynda Tabuya is not only totally amoral but totally stupid. She won’t confirm that it is her in the video but complains about an invasion of privacy. If it isn’t you, Lynda, how is it an invasion of your privacy? It is utterly bizarre and confirmation that the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection thinks we are as stupid as she is. Let’s get this straight. It is definitely Lynda Tabuya in the video – her nether region unshaven and wriggling her ample butt at the camera like some third-rate pole dancer in a sleazy dive. It is pornographic because it is designed to cause sexual arousal. So let’s get another thing straight. This is the Co-Chair of the government’s Anti-Porn Taskforce actually making pornography.

Lynda Tabuya is making the Prime Minister look utterly foolish. This episode has re-ignited rumours of their own affair. And whether or not these rumours are true is totally beside the point. Only someone whose relationship with Tabuya goes beyond the professional could possibly indulge her excesses to the point that Rabuka has.
As Grubsheet has repeatedly reported but the mainstream media in Fiji continues to ignore, the Prime Minister co-signed a letter to Lynda Tabuya removing her as deputy leader of the People’s Alliance for a “sex and illicit drug scandal” but kept her in the cabinet. (see below) Yes, Sitiveni Rabuka himself found the allegations of drug-taking in Room 233 and Tabuya’s extramarital “brutal” sex with Aseri Radrodro proven. But she survived as Minister for Women and Children. (and Social Protection)
What sort of Prime Minister does that make him? Here’s the answer to that. A Prime Minister not only prepared to turn a blind eye to a ministerial sex scandal but in the case of the “illicit drugs”, turn a blind eye to a violation of the law. And Sitiveni Rabuka wonders why he and the Coalition government are in such bad odour with the electorate. It’s because we are disgusted with her and disgusted with him, as well as with all the other lies and broken promises.
Sitiveni Rabuka has seen the video clip we have all seen. He knows it is her. Because the tattoo of three turtles that established Lynda’s Tabuya’s guilt when she was investigated by the PAP and stripped of the deputy leadership are there again for everyone to see. And what the Prime Minister is going to do about it is as much a judgment on him as it is on her.
Lynda Tabuya has compounded the insult of refusing to confirm that it is her with the blasphemy of telling the thousands of Fijians who have seen the video that like Jesus, she forgives them when the truth is that she has referred them to the police. Seriously. Invoking the name of Christ on Christmas Day in a grubby exercise to save her political skin really is the utter end. The final straw.
Either Lynda Tabuya goes or Sitiveni Rabuka should go. Because if he again allows her to survive when she has broken all of the rules of politics, broken the law and violated all standards of public decency – culminating in blasphemy – he is unfit to be Prime Minister. He should spare us all the self-indulgent talk of “being tired” and finally do what is right.
And from today’s Fiji Sun. Jone Salusalu needs to learn the meaning of the word “remorse”. There has been no remorse from Lynda Tabuya. She has simply turned the blame for her own degenerate conduct on all of us.
And once again, the letter no mainstream Fijian media outlet has ever published – proof that the Prime Minister turned a blind eye to Lynda Tabuya’s drug-taking and illicit sex scandal despite officially finding her guilty.

It’s interesting the government continues to turn a blind eye to her antics which raises questions on why this is the case. In other normal governments, behaviours such as these would not go unpunished and the minister would lose her portfolio and also expelled from the party/parliament.

I am astonished (as a woman) why one would make such videos or even consent to it. These are private moments. If it was on a personal device of her husband or boyfriend, then who else would have leaked it. She needs to look close to home and also reflect on the company she keeps.

What I am dealing with is the grim reality of what two thirds of women and girls in Fiji face, and that is technology facilitated gender based violence, or online violence. This type of violence occurs when private images and videos are circulated publicly with the person’s consent. It is a grievous form of cyber bullying and must stop if we are truly committed to ending violence against women and girls in Fiji.
There is nothing scandalous or illegal or immoral about sharing private videos and images between two consenting adults who are in a relationship, in this case me and my husband. It is the illegal obtaining and circulating of these private videos and images that is criminal. Individuals and organizations circulating the private video of me trying to turn it into a scandal including media outlets claiming it will have negative effects on my position as the Minister for Women are perpetuating and promoting online violence as this is the very real experience that two thirds of our women and girls in Fiji face!
Women and girls in Fiji who privately share videos and images with their partners or boyfriends, or have their phones stolen or hacked are confronted with various types of criminal activity including an ex partner or ex boyfriend or thieves or hackers who use these private videos and images to extort money which is known as sextortion, or publish them in the attempt to damage their character and reputation which is known as revenge porn. These are crimes and must stop.
Women get attacked ten times more than men on Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat, messenger, Viber and other online platforms, especially women leaders like myself are targeted politically. I represent every woman and girl who is dealing with this daily with their families in Fiji and it is my duty to continue to speak up against this crime, and even more so when I am personally facing it.
The media outlet Fijivillage is unethical and corrupt. They broke the story on their Facebook page earlier this afternoon and blatantly lied about talking to me before they published it, when I had not even spoken to them at that point in time when the story was on their Facebook page. It is a shame that media outlets like this would publish lies as well as perpetuating the online violence by claiming it will have negative effects on my role as Minister for Women. It is the very fact that I am the Minister for Women that gives me firsthand experience of what two thirds of our women and girls in Fiji face daily. I remind Vijay Narayan of his media ethics of being truthful and balanced in reporting. Fijivillage seems to be more interested in sensationalism and getting likes on their posts than the truth. I call on the Fiji Media Council to hold its members accountable to ethical standards of fair and balanced reporting.
I am working closely with the authorities to identify and hold accountable those responsible for distributing the video online. I have evidence of one such person sharing it on email and I will be filing a police complaint against him under the Online Safety Act and the Crimes Act. Let me make this very clear: the circulation of private images and videos, whether real or appears to be real (doctored or AI generated) without the person’s consent is a crime. I warn anyone who is sharing the video through messenger or email or any online platform that you are committing a crime and will be held accountable and face serious legal consequences.

But where are the opposition and future leaders of Fiji. No body has the decency or courage to call these idiots out.
