It’s easy when you’re a multi-millionaire who fled the United States owing creditors more than $F100-million to lecture the one third of Fijians who live in poverty about the importance of relying on family support.
The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, is already rich beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Yet she has just enriched herself even further as Chair of the Parliament’s Emoluments Committee by giving herself and every other MP a massive pay rise and even the ability, in her case, to import a new Range Rover tax-free every parliamentary term. (The impact on the luxury car market in Fiji of 55 MPs flooding the market every four years to turn a profit off the back of the taxpayer is yet to emerge as an issue but it will).
Only someone who is completely bereft of self awareness would get up in the parliament and tell ordinary Fijians to fall back on the support of their own families rather than expecting the government to provide them with assistant. Can you believe it, Fiji? This is the Minister for Social Protection preaching the virtues of self sufficiency when she has deprived hundreds of ordinary Americans of their life savings after the fat-busting business she and her husband owned in the US went bust. No “social protection” for them. (see below)
The cry of “no shame” is long and hard on social media. But there ought to be further cause for shame that the Queen of Tarts said all of this in the parliament in iTaukei, as if the rest of us don’t exist. She is quite capable of speaking English (even with an American accent) but chooses to act as if she is in a monocultural, monolingual country where everyone is obliged to speak in the vernacular.
The Minister for Bonking and Weed is a disgrace and throughly deserves the vituperation that is coming her way in spades . As many are pointing out on social media, we only have to put up with the antics of the Queen of Tarts until the next election. Because never mind her popularity with dope-heads and lovers of Jack Daniels. As soon as the man who protects her shuffles, Joe Biden-like, out of the leadership, the hardheads of the Coalition will cut her loose.

A savage response on social media:

The Unity Party’s Mick Beddoes takes a stick to Lynda Tabuya on social media accusing her of “perpetuating poverty, not alleviating it”.

“Fend for yourselves, peasants”. A reminder of Lynda Tabuya’s colourful legacy of depriving ordinary families in America of their savings and winding up rich in Fiji.

And the letter that will haunt her all the way to the next election.

The Queen of Tarts unveils her campaign photo for 2026 and her election slogan. “I’m alright suckers”. (Get a rich family like mine and stop complaining).

Fiji is full of not only monkeys but donkeys as well. If people thought these two species are not native to Fiji, you just need to go in and around Fiji’s parliament house.
They are definately native to Fiji and hopefully they will be extinct soon.
But do not hold your breath, because there could be a new strand in the evolution process who will replace them!
Wow, just cannot imagine how this one chose to be of service to the public when no such intention actually exists.
The whole ambition was to become the Prime Minister, a self need that once obtained would hide away the many problems and shortcomings that is being suffered.
Too bad the suffering continues in public.
Watch out for a Facebook posting soon on how to deal with stress and backlash, an advice she won’t need to give herself in public if she lived by any good morals, values or standards.
Her agenda in wanting to be Prime Minister is to enrich her family and those around her. That’s why it must never be allowed to happen.
Far out!
I know how she must be feeling.
I tried like that too. When you out in sea and just finished a nice fresh spliff .
Man that picture looks like she’s out at sea and stoned.
Fresh from a farm in Kadavu.
So another example of elite itaukei getting to the cake, cookie jar and the till. Wonder if it will ever dawn on the naiita brigade that they have been failed again and again and that the politicians look at them with great contempt. The ordinary itaukei are only good for the votes to put the politicians in power. Otherwise like the vulagi, they are required to shet up and live in the swamps.
Obviously Lynda and others who have voted themselves a huge pay rise, with the Minister of Finance making up for his original stand by gifting unlimited duty free access to imported goods, have grown such thick skins that they are completely insensitive to the public’s views. Whilst Biman Prasad slaps a limit of F$1000 ( which wouldn’t even get you a decent android phone) to the ordinary Fijian, the options for the Parliamentarians are endless.
There are no restrictions on any kind of equipment even if they are contributing markedly to Fiji’s carbon footprint. So all close friends and families of MPs, get your shopping list ready and enjoy the unlimited privileges through the frequent travels of the MPs to enrich yourself with duty free goods whilst the rest of us struggle to provide food for our families.
Just amazes me that she hasn’t been arrested by the FBi and extradited back to the US to stand trial for fraud.
Once a fraudster, always a fraudster.
What Tabuya is saying (for once) is true.
The duty of care must sit with the families.
We have to be careful in not eroding this duty and making people think that the government is responsible.
The government is never entirely responsible and let’s be honest about this topic. If the government was entirely responsible than those on welfare would have died of poverty already.
But who believes anything this woman says anyway. She has lost all respect.
Did the MPs forget to give themselves as a perk annual Fiji Airways Tabua Class memberships.
Or is this already taken care of by their business class travel bookings.
And what about an annual wardrobe allowance. Mind you some MPs don’t seem to need that and manage quite well from their own (fleeced) funds.
Surely a perk worth having is endless supply of Fiji Water, especially useful during the frequent water cuts. Exposure to constant water supply restrictions or cuts can also be mitigated by regular useage of Tabua Class benefits (ie being away overseas on conferences for extended periods)
Note the above measure also useful for minimising inconvenience of electricity cuts and outages.
Best to stop here and not give the next deliberations of the Emolument Committee new ideas.
How the tide has turned.
Even when she speaks some truth, the public is repulsed by the Madam Minister.
Everything she touches is now coal and ash.
There was a time when garbage out of her mouth was gold to her devotees, not so now.
But only in Fiji, she has better odds than most of becoming PM in the near future. Looks like the Chinese Embassy thinks this as well, having put money on it…was it $172,000 !
That happens when you suckle on tits that pour out rich nutritional million dollar milk. You have an insatiable need for more and and you’ll suckle every tit dry for yourself.
Greedy, thieving, conniving, shameless and despicable woman. She does not belong in parliament. She should be behind bars.
The fact that shes been allowed to do and say whatever she wants suggests one thing: That this Prime minister is totally unfit to lead. He was lied to by Lynda and in turn misled the people of Fiji. He knows Lynda lied because he signed off on her PAP position demotion, yet he does not apologize to the People of Fiji for misleading them about Lyndas sex saga with Aseri. He does not strip her of her ministerial post and does not reprimand her when she blatantly attacks Biman Prasad and threatens to break up the coalition. Instead he allows this poor excuse of a human being to continue to arrogantly belittle the people of Fiji with her outrageous and unnecessary comments. Yet we have a PM who is so happy to still accomodate her in his cabinet. Sitiveni Rabuka may be physically fit but he does not have the balls to do the right thing by the People of Fiji. He ma be physically fit, but in terms of Prime Minister capability, he is drastically unfit to lead Fiji. He has too much baggage that he carries with him, and at his age, he is just in this for that last pay day. The People of Fiji need only blame one person for the disease that is ‘Lynda Tabuya’ and that person is Sitiveni Rabuka the Snake who continues to take on bad advice from everywhere. Useless. Pathetic. Spineless. The hallmarks of Sitiveni Rabuka and his current thieving crop of Politicians.
