The celebrated coconut wireless in Fiji is on the brink of meltdown as reports circulate that the Deputy Prime Minister and heir apparent to Sitiveni Rabuka – Manoa Kamikamica – is telling his PAP colleagues that Lynda Tabuya gave the Prime Minister his $150,000 “plus” gold Rolex as a gesture of thanks for her rehabilitation.
If this is true – both that this is what Kamikamica is saying and this is what Lynda Tabuya has done – then we have plumbed new depths with the sandal-prone Coalition government. And it is high time for all parties – the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Lynda Tabuya – to come clean and explain themselves.
It was never acceptable for the Prime Minister to claim a “right to remain silent” over the source of his fabulously expensive timepiece. It merely fuelled suspicions that the original speculation about the provenance of the Rolex was true – that it was given to him by Mahendra “Mac” Patel as a “thank you” gesture for recommending that he be pardoned.
Yet if the truth is that the watch was given to him by Lynda Tabuya as a “vinaka vakalevu” for saving her political career, then it speaks of corruption at the very heart of the ruling party and the state. We need urgent explanations from all three and a police investigation into the details, And “remaining silent” is certainly no longer an option for any of them.
The first inkling that the watch might have come from Lynda Tabuya emerged in a comment on Grubsheet yesterday by someone posting anonymously whose email address identifies that person as someone with a national profile with close links to the Coalition.

That “word from within the Coalition”, according to a separate Grubsheet source, was from Manoa Kamikamica, no less – a solid gold source if ever there was one.
Why is he reportedly spreading the word that Lynda Tabuya gave Sitiveni Rabuka the gold Rolex? Is it to try to derail her imminent return to the cabinet as minister for information so that he removes her as a potential rival for the leadership?
Is Kamikamica betting that if this story is true and is definitely established as fact that it will not only be the end of Lynda Tabuya’s rehabilitation but a fatal blow for the Prime Minister that will make it difficult for him to remain in office with any credibility at all?
Explanations please. But we also need to hear from Lynda Tabuya and the Prime Minister himself. Because if it is true that he accepted a watch from the infamous Queen of Tarts in return for putting her back in the cabinet, both of them are under existential threat. Their political positions are no longer sustainable and by rights, they must resign.
We certainly know that Lynda Tabuya can afford a solid gold Rolex. She and her husband, Rob Semaan, are multi-millionaires and Semaan is raking in millions more each year as co-owner of Fiji’s biggest construction company, Pacific Building Solutions, which has secured a string of lucrative government contracts including the new GCC headquarters and new terminals for Airports Fiji Limited.
Is Lynda Tabuya so unhinged that on top of her antics in Room 233 and making a pornographic video, she would think it is acceptable to give a gold Rolex to the Prime Minister as a “sevusevu” for saving her political bacon?
Unfortunately the answer has to be “yes”. While the woman is demonstrably crazy and utterly amoral, she has not abandoned her fantasy to be prime minister herself, which would give her unlimited ability to enrich her husband’s company with more lucrative government contracts.
When Grubsheet received the aforementioned comment yesterday, our initial instinct was to dismiss it out of hand as highly unlikely. But then another source told us in writing: ” Inside PAP hierarchy. Manoa K claimed it was given by Lynda“.
And then from another source: “Rabuka’s grandchildren are telling their friends that Grandpa’s new watch came from Lynda“. Out of the mouths of babes, as the old saying goes.
I repeat: The time for the Prime Minister to exercise the “right to remain silent” is over. It was never a option except in Rabuka’s increasingly addled mind but the Fijian people deserve an explanation NOW.
The PM posted the following extraordinary message today on his Facebook page:

Well, Prime Minister, we’re coming to you, not the media. Coming to the barber, not the tailor. But it’s high time for haircuts all round. Because this scandal has gone on long enough.
———
Manoa Kamikamica is engaged in a “war of words” with Inia Seruiratu. But it’s nothing to the war of words that will be erupting behind the scenes as news spreads of his reported comments about Lynda Tabuya’s largesse towards the Prime Minister.

Is Kamikamica’s whispering campaign against the Queen of Tarts a last minute attempt to derail her appointment as minister for information and finally bring her political career to an end?

The latest photo from Monday’s Fiji Times. Cosy.

UPDATE TUES AM:
How odd that the Fijian mainstream media hasn’t touched this story but the Fiji Sun has published the following explosive letter from regular contributor, Rajend Naidu.

Were I Samisoni Pareti and the rest of the government’s PR team, I would be apoplectic.
How can Lynda Tabuya credibly be placed in the role of minister for information if this is the narrative? Or is the Fiji Sun trying obliquely to assist Manoa Kamikamica to derail the appointment?
BTW, Rajend Naidu. Grubsheet isn’t “social media”. This is the news and opinion website of a multi-award winning journalist of half a century’s standing and Victor Lal at Fijileaks is in a similar position.
You could call us “non-mainstream media” or “news blog sites”. But “social media” we are not. We are professional journalists covering stories the mainstream media often ignores. And to lump us in with the hoards on Facebook simply isn’t accurate. How about “one of the news blog sites” next time?
BTW again. Great letter!

You have to have a conscience and a sense of shame to be embarrassed, I guess. That would explain how Rabuka just keeps going on despite how cringe-worthy he’s looking to most intelligent people.
Don’t let this slut lead us all down the rabbit hole about the Rolex. She is all BS, always has been, always will be.
The Rolex and Montblanc Meisterstück came from no one else but the the most corrupt business Fiji has ever had led by the emiritus chamaar.
Both gifts are signature items of the emiritus chamaar.
The weed queen is trying to play smoke and mirrors to cover for the vile corrupt snake.
The porn queen is doing her best to run interference by lying, again.
Then an official inquiry into the source of these gifts is even more important to establish the truth.
And by remaining quiet the snake let the Indians be the fall guys again. So one can see how his itaukei brain works.
I loved this comment so much I realised that there had to be more to the Queen of Porn. Why she had to have been divorced. YES BECAUSE THEY WERE BANKRUPT.
Lynda Semaan, also known as Lynda Tabuya, was implicated in the bankruptcy of Go Fig. Inc., a company co-founded with her then-husband, Robert Semaan. Go Fig. Inc. specialized in “lipodissolve” injections, marketed as treatments to dissolve unwanted fat. The company expanded rapidly but filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2007, leaving creditors, patients, and medical treatment lenders with losses exceeding $US50 million.
The bankruptcy trustee alleged that the company was poorly managed and had an unsustainable business model. Additionally, it was claimed that some of the company’s funds were used to pay personal expenses for Robert and Lynda Semaan, including credit card and car loan bills. In 2012, a settlement of $4.5 million was reached between the bankruptcy trustee and the Semaans.
Following the company’s collapse, Robert and Lynda Semaan relocated to Fiji. Robert, originally from Australia, was in the United States on a work visa, and Lynda was pregnant at the time, prompting their move.
In summary, the bankruptcy of Go Fig. Inc. was attributed to rapid expansion, alleged poor management, and an unsustainable business model, resulting in significant financial losses for creditors and clients.
Well that doesn’t augur well for the nation’s finances if she ever gets control of the levers of power. It is about self-enrichment, not responsible national development.
It was a great ‘Holi’ message by the PM and his media team. Very mindful, very demure, very secular.
She’s that desperate eh? Valoloma dina na bula nei nau pina.
Buying political favours. Bribery.
Corruption.
Both giver and taker should go to jail.
Can someone knock some sense into this stupid woman’s thick head that her political career is over?!! PM ni demu o saga tiko?
Dreams are free, se cava?
E sa da lako tiko ki vei, Rabuka? Wake up?! You’re a weak leader! Compromised. Easily bought.
Fiji is a sovereign state. Our country’s reputation is at stake if we continue to have a drug user, porn actress, corrupt white collar criminal, slut/whore degenerate in our august parliament. phew!
Code of conduct anyone? How fast is that coming along? Levu ga na varaitaki toi boi wavoki tiko, sega ni caka na job.
This shameful woman led the sub committee which increased their parliamentary salaries while majority Fijians suffer. We will never forget!!!
Should investigate this corrupt, thieving couple and send them to jail where they rightly belong. They’ve made their millions. Stubumudrau!
Fiji does not need you two! Please share this website on FB pages so the people of Fiji know.
PAP, your number is up! 2026 cannot come fast enough. Time to FO! DVC!
100% CORRECT …Sa vakaloloma na bula ni seseraurau kei ma lecaika…
It’s time for the PM to admit all the scandals behind this queen of porno of Fiji and chop her off from the Government – full embarrassment to the itaukei!
SHAME on you PM and Queen of Porno of Fiji!
REPENT TO THE LIVING GOD, YAHWEH, BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
The People of Fiji deserves strong, inclusive, and God fearing leaders!
All Rolex watches are traceable with serial number. Traceable data include the official purchaser, the official retailer, means of payment for purchase, etc.
Just need serial number, lol.
Not so, according to my information. The serial number just indicates the type of watch and the series (Z, M etc) that indicates the year/s of manufacture. You need the receipt to know the retailer and the purchaser.
When someone buys a Rolex from an authorized dealer, the data on the warranty card is sent to Rolex HQ in Switzerland.
This data is the purchase date, model number, serial number and the store that sold the watch.
Of course, it’s another thing to get to that data but good way to narrow down if jurisdiction permits.
I was addressing your point about the identity of the purchaser. That will not be revealed by what you have outlined here. Though that’s what we would really like to know.
What due diligence does Fiji government have on past scammers and those who have faced bankruptcy and liquidation to now get government contracts?
I just don’t get this government nor the donors who invest and give Fiji millions and the money is going to a person like Semaan. This needs to be raised with all donor agencies. It needs exposing at all levels and overseas too.
Anyone have a list of how each contract that Semaan is acquiring is funded? I mean any donors or development banks involved? Past and present contracts. About time we write to these donors for accountability and ask for explanations.
Is the Rolex the only thing Lynda gave? Given her character, it won’t come as a surprise that there is more than just a Rolex in this “sevusevu”.
You mean since 1987?
You mean when Rambo was young and good looking, LOL.
GD
Surely it is a “requirement” for the Prime Minister as well as the Members to declare and register any hospitality or gifts received by them.
Meanwhile, my understanding of the law on those performing public service duties is that the Tax authorities usually monitors their tax records to see whether they have recieved outside incomes or gifts through the review of an individual’s regular financial activities. This includes checks during routine tax audits where discrepancies between reported income and spending could indicate unreported gifts.
Gifting someone a present as a form of bribery in exchange for a perk is surely considered to have a corrupt intent, and therefore, both the Prime Minister and Lynda Tabuya should be reported to the Police, Tax authorities and the Speaker with a view to carrying out an investigation into the “Rolex Affair”!
Sorry, just can’t help myself with the photo of Rabuka and.that scarlet woman in Parliament, especially with the direction of his gaze towards LT’s bush.
And so apt Dmuri’s comment about LT being open and flexible!
Waiting to vote this useless government out and make up for my wasted vote for Lenora Qereqeretabua!
Lenora is such a waste herself. All that talk during opposition and now she is sitting so quietly. Not a bark. No advocacy. No presence. Why would you even consider wasting your vote on any of these political parties anyway? They are all the same.
Fiji needs new leaders who are free from all coup plotters and scammers.
Re: Lenora. Still waters run deep.

Lynda used to give Black label around to Rt Naiqama and other leaders in the party . Her antics are very well known not by a few but many.
It is not only Rabuka, it is the PAP management who are doing under the table dealings on every government contract.
Every Minister who is running a business on the side is taking government jobs without declaring their interest in it.The change people wanted. There you have it.
If Rabbuka had any respect for the citizens of Fiji he would not be positing silly comments on his Facebook. It goes to show how corrupt he is. All his ministers are doing the same and don’t care about the people suffering.
I wonder how in all ‘good’ conscience do these politicians sleep at night, with all the corruption swirling around them? I guess the obvious answer is “on their backs”😅😅!!
Please save Fiji from this Coalition government. The previous FijiFirst government ministers had no corrupt cases. The army should save Fiji now.
Oh my gosh, there’s no end to bushy grandma’s scandalous dramas… and buying her way out of sticky spots with her bakola PM. It’s always been her modus operandi.. Maintained that the 3 of them (including her married room233 lover) shouldve resigned if they had a conscience and vacate parliament. Just super disgusting all around!
There is no end to the drama in Fiji’s politics. What a time to be alive to read all the blogs like Grubsheet and Fiji Transparency. Jeez.
The saga surrounding the Rolex watch is becoming increasingly intriguing, clearly suggesting the involvement of bribery.
Whether it was Mac Patel or Lynda who gave the Rolex watch to Rabuka, in both cases, it amounts to bribery. If Mac Patel was the giver, the watch could be seen as an attempt to secure a pardon through Rabuka’s recommendation for a sentence Patel had yet to serve. On the other hand, if Lynda gave the watch, it appears to be an attempt to bribe the Prime Minister for a return to a ministerial position.
In either scenario, both the giver and the recipient must be thoroughly investigated. This situation highlights a serious level of corruption, especially considering the possibility of Lynda being reinstated as a minister despite her past actions, which have already brought disrepute to both Parliament and the people of Fiji.
The Prime Minister of Fiji has become a figure of ridicule, and his government ministers appear to be his loyal lapdogs. The most devoted of these is Biman, who has shown a complete lack of control over government expenditure and has failed to address the rising cost of living and deteriorating services and infrastructure.
That’s EXACTLY what I stated on this forum when the issue first gained prominence. No surprises there. Bribes her way into anything and anyone: Lame woman.
I have been holding back on commenting about this for a long time now. Hope this gets published. Honestly, her nude video has no effect on Johnny Sins. I spoke to him and he said that is how dancers dance in LAHORE (city in Pakistan)…lol
Johnny said even a dead man who sees that dance will die again. lol
