# UNCONFIRMED REPORTS: MOMENTOUS EVENTS UNFOLDING IN SUVA

Posted on May 29, 2025 25 Comments

Reports are reaching Grubsheet that the decision has been made to remove Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner.

There are also reports that the government intends to release the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry Report as early as next week and act on all of its recommendations.

This is rumoured to include a clean sweep of the leadership of FICAC and the ODPP and the suspension of Salesi Temo as Chief Justice, along with his Chief Registrar, Tomasi Bainivalu, pending judicial hearings on allegations against them of misbehaviour.

The reports say Francis Puleiwai will be restored as FICAC Deputy Commissioner, which suggests that previous investigations and charges, including that of Biman Prasad, will be reinstated.

More details as they come to hand and a comprehensive story tomorrow morning.

Bula Graham, if this is true, it is an astounding turn of events. Almost too good to be true. You sure your sources got it right? If so, what do you think has prompted this? Pressure from the Military? Or just the snake doing snake things?

I honestly don’t know. But maybe Rabuka is about to surprise us all and go into next year’s election as Mr Clean.

Yes! I hear both Malimali and Fotofili both received their termination letters today. FICAC COMM and Act. FICAC Deputy COMM both out!

No pressure from the military. is forthcoming. They have been placated.

I said this before in an earlier post, this is part of a ‘clean out’ strategy to reject the self-serving dickheads in the Sodelp and NFP ‘coalition’ and proceed to the election with the numbers to back him for another term.

All those fcuckwits in the Sodelpa and NFP will be consigned to the dustbin of history.

You will soon see the demotion of senior NFP figure/s.

      Mark my words.

Not so. The military don’t like Rabuka and for that either Rt Naiqama as well is the pits to them, for the duo’s treacherous past behaviour, pedo nature etc. They would be happier with Bai back then Rabuka, but kudos to RFMF leadership for being men of their word and accepting the democratic process.

Alas, its too little too late for Rabuka. The economic hardship and general lawlessness under his watch has offended too many of the silent majority. Now, nasty Barbara will be gunning for revenge and will be plotting with Lynda etc. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…

Bula Graham, seems like I was right and there was pressure from the military that has prompted this sudden burst of action by the hapless PM. If it is so, it is a welcome move by the Commander because the sleeping PM’s recent performance in the past few weeks have been directionless and utterly disappointing-to say the least. He tried to bury the COI report but failed. Seems like he was Lamu of the Armys interference. Just 24 hours after saying that the recommendations of the COI report does not need any actions, he has fired Barbwire and the AG

If Rabuka actually does what is being rumored, he will regain a lot of respect and confidence, and start looking like the leader that he was elected for – running a clean government. Right now he is looking like an old, aging leader ( if you can call him a leader), who is totally out of touch with reality, quite vain and shallow, hence his nickname, Rolex Rubuka, who likes to prance around in 3-piece suits and four-wheel-drives; a self-serving PM living it up at taxpayers’ expense, including frequent traveler to collect hefty allowances. But there is still time for him to redeem himself and restore his image, and go down in history as a respectable leader, rather than a weak, cowardly, corrupt one.

This is crunch time for Rolex Rabuka and whatever action he takes will determine his legacy. He needs to remember that his first loyalty is to Fiji and its citizens , not Baiman or Richard Naidu or Salesi Temo or Barbwire, who are all profiting from him. He owes them nothing, but he owes his people everything. Right now Baiman, Richard, Temo, Barbwire are the enemy of the people.

He will not regain any confidence from me. Once a snake always a snake. Rabuka will go down as the worst PM fiji ever had. Old, corrupt, self centered and indecisive. Worst PM ever.

The release of the $2m COI report is absolutely critical to restore the public confidence on the Coalition in view of several scandals that have engulfed after the last election. Those implicated have a right for a fair trial and natural justice should be accorded to them. To hide the COI report is heavy handed and is completely grossly unfair – and this will only confirm/validate the perception that many already has – and this will be evident at ballot box for 2026 electons. The full implementation of COI Report recommendations will definitely bring a closure to a bad chapter where self interest, greed, persecution and corruption prevailed. Let the COI clear all these now, please.

Was it serendipity or ingeniously planned – Rabuka’s recent official visit to NZ – I would assume paid for by the Fijian taxpayer – and the citizenship ceremony of his son in Auckland.
Surely one would not think a perfunctory official visit to NZ was conjured to attend to family mayters but hey it’s Fiji leadership for you and your never can assume such abuses do not occur. The timing coincidence is so uncanny one can’t help speculate.
On another note Rabuka many years ago told a NZ journalist (Te Radar ) in Suva his past was a turnaround when he started considering what kind of future he was leaving his grandchildren. Ironic that the PM’s own find a better future as Vulagis in the foreign land of NZ, where there is equal citizenry. What a monumental failure of his own actions and his administration that the solution of a better life is to be found abroad.

This is another example of the flip flop PM – I guess he needs to keep up his dickhead reputation. “Hey all just look at me, I remain a complete dickhead – still the center of attention and still basking in glory”. Now go have some cake in your 3 piece suit.

Amazing how some have already concluded he will become a clean skin before the next election. Seriously, when will people ever learn. After 40 years a snake will remain a snake people.

Rambo is smarter than he looks. He know right now Biman and Ficac are just dead weight which will affect his future election plans.

So under the bus they go. He already has his backup MPs with the ex fiji first crossovers

I have been wanting to write this for a long time. If my thinking is correct, Rabuka has played well. Initiated COI so he could act upon it and fire Biman and others. THIS WAY, NFP cant complain and cry unfair or Rabuka can’t be trusted.

Rolex Rambo is an outlaw and career corrupt politician if you may call him that. He has been pushed to release the report and implement the recommendations.

It is being discussed online that RFMF has held discussions with Rabuka.

As for outlaw Temo, Rabuka doesn’t care burning him down. Baiman – Rabuka hates him and all so what’s the issue him getting investigated. Kamikamica and Lynda, they will likely be suspended, investigated and Rabuka will be rushing off to the elections without them stabbing him in the back.

Time for Narube/chaudhry coalition to gain maximum advantage on the back of this. Time for senior Chaudhry to cut off from his motor mouth son hiding in the squatter settlement of Takanini. He is a liability and and will make Chaudhry pay again and again if Senior Chaudhry can’t distance himself from this Visa application lawyer.

Meanwhile alleged statement from the Great Council of Thieves – problem is the constitution.

It looks like the RFMF Commander helped the PM make some decisions about the COI.
The PM should know well about how to behave when a gun is pointed up one’s arse.
Not only is he a flip-flopper he is a coward.
In my books he has been a coward since 1987.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
