# “WHEN AIYAZ SAYED KHAIYUM IS CONVICTED”. THE ASSISTANT DPP CONFIRMS FEARS THAT THE FORMER AG’S TRIAL IS A STITCH-UP (UPDATED FRIDAY AM)

Posted on September 25, 2025 24 Comments

Tabuakoro: Another outrage

The Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, has been at pains to give the appearance of evenhandedness as he presides over the trial of Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Mohammed Saneem for alleged abuse of office, castigating the Acting DPP, Nancy Tikoisuva, in open court over aspects of her prosecution of the case. But it is evidently all a sham. Khaiyum is to be convicted and sent to prison irrespective of the evidence against him, at least according to the Assistant DPP, Laisani Tabuakoro.

“When”, not “if”

How else are we to interpret the following Facebook posting by Tabuakoro, in which she refers to “when” the former AG is convicted, not “if” he is convicted ?

It confirms what many have long suspected – that this is a show trial worthy of the Nazis or Soviets, not justice with due process and the proper application of the law. And that its sole purpose is to find Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum guilty.

Let’s see what the Chief Justice has to say about this astonishing statement. Or will he merely ignore it and sail merrily on? Hold that thought, Fiji.

Salesi Temo

This is just the latest outrage involving the Assistant DPP, who was sacked for misconduct by the substantive DPP, Christopher Pryde, but reinstated in Pryde’s enforced absence from Fiji by her friend, Nancy Tikoisuva, the party girl masquerading as the nation’s chief prosecutor.

Laisani Tabuakoro has broken all the rules of judicious conduct that ought to apply to any prosecutor. Yet she sails merrily on herself as part of the corrupt cabal that has seized control of the criminal justice system – a protected species who can do no wrong.

It’s all here in multiple stories on Grubsheet (see below). This latest outrage should be the final straw. Sadly, it won’t be. Yet at least Laisani Tabuakoro has done the Fijian people the service of confirming what we already know – that this trial has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with retribution.

It is a show trial in a kangaroo court presided over by a Chief Justice who ought to have been suspended for allegedly perverting the course of justice in the Malimali affair yet stays resolutely in place to do the bidding of the Prime Minister, the President and the entire establishment, who are determined to put Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum behind bars as punishment for his years in power.

The story of Laisani Tabuakoro is a shocking demonstration in itself of just how far the criminal justice system in Fiji has fallen under the corrupt Coalition, which has mounted a full-blown assault on the independence of our most important offices of state.

The Fiji Times story that elicited the “when he is convicted” statement.

UPDATE FRIDAY AM.

Laisani Tabuakoro’s conduct is evidently even too much for the Party Girl, who has clearly been instructed to give her a public slapping. Or more like a mild tap on the wrist.

It was Nancy Tikoisuva who countermanded Christopher Pryde’s decision to sack the Assistant DPP. So she must be held responsible for the fact that Tabuakoro has offended again.

Both of them are a disgrace.

Temo is a very cunning person ! He is acting fair but far from it ! He allows idiots like that Tabuakoro to make statements on her Facebook whilst the case is ongoing! That’s a crime ! Don’t bother to ask how!

Also – idiots like Mesake Dawai tries to throw shade by stating that Saneem
Tried to favor FFP three times in the last elections . How does that have anything to do with tax payments ? Are these people stupid or are they trying to publicly suggest other cases should be charged based on other hear say ??

Just remember guys ! Your lies will come back at you ! Temo refusing to recuse himself is confirmation that these charges are political assasinations for which in exchange for, his own misdemeanors and criminal actions as per COI is being forgiven and he gets to retain his position!

Ashton Lewis was appointed by Temo as Supreme Court judge!! Remembered rang folks when they now start claiming he is a fraud ! Rabuka has already asked who should be held to account for Lewis’s appointment.
Well Rabuka it’s your relative Temo ! What you going to do about it ?

    GD

Do you recall your interview with Sashi Singh in SSTP in which you gave inside information of ASK and BAI leadership and how you found their true colour whilst working with them as media consultant.

Your account of details were credible and believe me it changed perception of many people including me, that no matter what happens, this two clowns must not run Fiji at any cost.

Your true and credible insider information about this two, which later ASK went on to claim that you were not part of his “insider” group in order to do damage control, regardless of it swayed the voters to other parties and this two clowns were put of circus for good.

Now as these two are exposed and are fronting the judicial process, you began defending them almost everyday in your forum. What is so special about them now?

    Both are done and dusted.

Very unfortunate that such people want the country to take a break from the organized and functional network of legislative frameworks and institutions including an independent judiciary. Hopefully, it will not be their wish that that break becomes permanent.

Didn’t the Acting AG just warn us all not to comment on current cases before the Courts? Or maybe she didn’t get the memo, or read the papers that day?

This is what happens when you have people who have served in powerhouse Mickey Mouse Pacific countries such as Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Palau, Kiribati, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu and the like.
You get Donald Ducks and cartoon characters who are very confident in their cartoon character – from the top to the bottom. Very proud indeed to be third rate.

Fiji’s judiciary is a stitched-up circus, and the clowns aren’t just in court. They’re in the crowd, grinning like idiots while the system burns.

The Assistant DPP says “when he’s convicted,” and instead of outrage, we get a nation of nodding jackasses who couldn’t spot a rigged trial if it came gift-wrapped in a judicial robe and hand-delivered by Satan himself.

Let’s be brutally honest. Too many people in this country are complete f**king morons.

They lack the basic cognitive wiring to recognise a breach of ethics, let alone care. They’re spoon-fed propaganda, swallow it whole, and ask for seconds.

Critical thinking is extinct. Common sense never evolved. They wouldn’t know their arse from their nose if you tattooed labels on both and gave them a mirror.

And here’s the deeper rot. The very people being gutted by this system, we the indigenous majority, are cheering it on like it’s a rugby final. They rally behind leaders who have presided over the worst social collapse in the country’s history.

Violent crime, rape (especially within family units), drug abuse, theft, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence, all statistically led by us indigenous Fijians. But no one wants to talk about it. No one asks why. No one holds their own to account. But we’re all too happy to share the latest stupid fucking TikTok dance and dive into another social media jerk-off slanging match.

It’s the Turkish proverb in action. The axe was welcomed by the forest because its handle was made of wood. The blade is cutting deep, and the trees are clapping.

Loyalty has replaced logic. Pride has replaced progress. And the cost is generations lost to dysfunction while the crowd cheers for its own destruction.

And the “I stand with Israel” crowd? Don’t get me started. The Israeli’s would spit in their faces and these asshats would call it holy water. They’re not supporters. They’re sycophants, desperate for relevance, too thick to realise they’re being used as human furniture.

I never liked Khaiyum or Bainimarama or any of those FijiFirst cocks and their snivelling brown-nosers. But when assholes start f**king with the rules, that f**ks it up for everyone.

This isn’t justice. It’s a public humiliation ritual, and the Assistant DPP just confirmed it. The crowd is proud to be the punchline.

Fiji isn’t asleep. It’s comatose. And the vultures are feasting.

Laisani is more than just a disgrace.

She is out of her depth in her current position. Lacks basic common sense let alone having ethics.

Classic case of Dunning -Kruger effect.

To those that do not know what that means, and couldn’t be bother looking it up, it is when you are too stupid to know that you are stupid.

What is eventuating and playing out in Fiji in terms of professionalism is a reflection of the caliber of individuals and the standards set by leadership of the nation .

For any of us who have served our country proudly over several decades & under various different political regimes .. it is unfortunately nothing short of a major embarrassment to look at the public service standards over the last few years and revolting to see the behaviors tolerated. But also to see the lack of self awareness of these relatively young professionals who think the world of themselves but perform at mediocre levels and lack basic common sense and decency.

It’s evidence of the new standards set by Rabuka and his cabinet.

It’s unacceptable at so many different levels and why many like myself have decided to just shut up and let the characters in the shit show in Fiji continue clueless , unhinged and exposed … and stay far away as possible from it all . Because in many ways it feels like Fiji is on a path of no return .. and maybe it all has to literally come undone before the change we all dream of can happen .

    GOD BLESS FIJI

Bring on the next general elections !

Nancy’s warning to Laisani is, as Trump would say, “fake news”. After all, Laisani is a habitual wrong doer and persistently cleared and promoted even after Siromi’s latest warning … all part of the pursuit of “the appearance of evenhandedness” as GS notes. And BTW, Victor’s latest take on Laisani is a must read.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
