# WHEN LYNDA LOSES THE NATION’S WOMEN, SHE LOSES THE LOT

Posted on March 7, 2024 12 Comments

Laisa Digitaki: Stand aside “Honourable Minister”.

It’s been noticeable for some time that the Minister for Bonking and Weed is rapidly losing the support of the nation’s women as news spreads – despite the lack of mainstream media coverage in Fiji – of the sex and drug scandal that will inevitably cost her the women and children’s portfolio in the cabinet.

Lynda Tabuya‘s position is increasingly untenable and while she seems determined to try to hang on, it is only a matter of time before the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, bows to the chorus of demands that she be removed.

The latest influential woman to call for Lynda Tabuya to stand aside is Laisa Digitaki – the prominent business figure and one of the bravest of the dissidents who stood up to Frank Bainimarama to oppose his coup in 2006. So that while the Minister appears to still have the support of the likes of Shamima Ali – who seems as blind to Lynda’s conduct as she was to Aseri Radrodro being appointed education minister – when you lose Laisa, you’ve lost an important segment of the female population. And your mana is shot to pieces.

Victor Lal acknowledges this on Fijileaks by leading with Laisa Digitaki’s appeal to Lynda Tabuya to honour democracy and her cabinet colleagues by falling on her sword. Though whether she will do so is another question altogether.

Grubsheet concurs with Victor Lal that this is an important intervention and a big nail in Lynda Tabuya’s coffin. Kudos to Laisa Digitaki for having the guts to go public.

Appealing to “Lady Minister’s” ‘moral principle’ won’t work – it does not exist

It is true that Lynda must be removed from her Ministerial portfolio. No questions asked.
She needs to stop playing the gender card.

It is also forthcoming that this serves as a notice to all MPs. Think twice before breaking your code of conduct.

    From,
    Another woman.

Olei, so much importance given to this loafing woman.
PM, just do your job. You have failed the nation on this.
Fix it. Fire Lynda. End of Story.

I am worried about the role and duty of care that the govt has for Tabuya.
    She is clearly not together.
She should be stood down asap, something that should have happened weeks ago.
Instead she is still on duty and running wild.
    Manage her. Stand her down.
Poor HR practice PAP and Fiji Govt.

Agree that she must be taken off her Minister role now.

Funny thing is Shame Ali is blowing Lynda’s Trumpet and has called for PM to reinstate her. Poo Poo CFL was has widely reported this after Shame Ali did a press conference.

No wonder Kai used to call PAP “pappi” (sinner in hindi). Shame Ali is brain washed. I wonder if St Giles can take her for treatment with Lynda.

Interesting that on the week of IWD the Fiji Times gives this woman a page! Nothing better to write about now Fiji Times. Just arose from the slumber moment for the Editor.

Lynda, you have absolutely left women in tatters. This is not acceptable. The Ministry is a laughing matter given that it has done nothing so far to show that change is here. It is not Ministry of Fashion Show. Should have been fired long away.

She is a typical case of give her your finger and she will snatch your arm (and man).

    Tuba time.

Laisa is spot on! A true woman and visionary. Kudos to her for speaking out!
Lynda – do the right thing and step down, else an option would be for Government to instigate a thorough investigation into the matter once and for all.

Engage the Australian Federal Police and the Melbourne Hotel for evidence. Camera footage for the hotel corridors to justify Aseri’s visits to room 233. Phone records.
Whilst Rabuka calls and deliberates for drug spot checks in schools, suggest he also factor this in for his Government ministers, their vehicles and the like starting with the Minister for bonking, extramarital affairs, and weed . We can’t be calling for adherence to this issue in particular when it’s being broken in the highest echelons of power by this schizophrenic egotistical nut.
Step down Lynda. You’re fast loosing credibility with one and all. Here’s hoping the remainder of her blind followers get off the malua bus and wake up to the truth out there.

Good one Laisa. The great temptress needs to humble herself and resign in the best interest of everyone. All the evidences are against her. People are not gullible anymore.

This circus sideshow has gone on long enough. We have a public figure playing the victim based on her gender card in overseas media. Lynda has her heels dug in and is desperately trying to manipulate the media to buy into her tale of denial.
That she operates with logic (I did not say foresight) in asking the Australian eSafety Commissioner to remove her images ,(admission) while going to another country to play victim (denial) is hilarious but also so very sad.

This woman is in psychological crisis. She is imploding before our eyes with her lack of judgement. Not just sleeping with another women’s husband and then claiming victimisation, but alcohol prizes for sporting raffles, fashion show displays in front of women in poverty, sharing a child abuse video and totally ignoring the child’s rights to privacy and feeling safe in favour of exploiting the child for her own promotion.

None of this is normal judgement for a street sweeper let alone a policitally experienced lawyer. Please PM use your eyes, release her so she can get the support she needs. Public scrutiny and commentary is harsh (not without merit) she needs to get out of the spotlight and into the shadow to begin to look at her issues.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
