# WHO IS THE MYSTERY PERSON TRYING TO SECURE DONATIONS WITHOUT RECEIPTS WHO ALSO SAYS SITIVENI RABUKA IS TOO OLD TO BE PM?

Posted on April 8, 2025 29 Comments

Shailendra Raju

We will soon know now that Shailendra Raju has made good on his Facebook undertaking to hand an explosive recording he says is in his possession to the Supervisor of Elections, Ana Mataiciwa.*

The disillusioned former People’s Alliance stalwart and social media warrior has caused a minor sensation with the following posting that threatens to turn into a major sensation depending on the identity of the person involved.

Is Manoa “I’ll work harder if you pay me more” Kamikamica the deputy prime minister Raju refers to in his posting? That’s the question being asked in political circles simply because Kamikamica is widely seen as Sitiveni Rabuka’s successor in waiting. And despite his protestations to the contrary, an impatient one at that.

Even before the December 2022 election, the Minister for Trade’s supporters were pushing him forward as PAP leader, arguing that Rabuka was carrying too much baggage from 1987 and the party needed generational change.

Is there a renewed attempt to persuade the PAP that the Prime Minister needs to go before the 2026 election? And is someone in the People’s Alliance really reckless enough to be telling a potential “foreign donor” – a “her” – that no receipt would be issued for any contribution?

Not declaring any donation is an offence under the Political Parties Act and carries a potential five year jail sentence.

Juicy.

No longer a fan.

* In the comments section below, Shailendra Raju tells us that he presented the video to the Elections Office in Suva at 2.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) and has been asked to lodge an official complaint.

We await an official announcement from the Supervisor of Elections, Ana Mataiciwa, and will naturally follow the story closely.

    Bula and Good morning

The audio was presented to SOE for assessment yesterday at 2.30pm at FEO following which I have been asked to lodge a formal complaint. The Political Parties Registration and Funding law doesn’t allow businesses directors and shareholders to donate money to political parties. Nor does it allow non Fiji Citizens to donate money. Promoting the notion of collecting funds without receipts is also wrong and must be dealt with according to law.

This is the issue I have raised and the audio recording is the evidence being used to support the complaint. All parties must follow the rule and it would be grossly unfair to allow some parties solicit funds from business community while others can’t. How can future elections be fair if some parties have the unfair advantage access to funds from business community who will then dictate the governance and policy agenda.

    Formal complaint be filed soon.

Complaint has been filed. I did what I thought was the right thing. Some may not agree with it, which is absolutely fine. The question whether the man was acting on his own or acting for someone else trying to raise funds from 30 middle class businessmen (his words) is a matter for the SOE to determine. My part was to pass the audio to the proper authorities simply because seeking donations from non citizens and businessmen is against the law.

Shailendra, the implications are serious for some very powerful people and, of course, you are going to get a caning. But you have certainly done the right thing in taking it to the SOE.

Raju thought he will be given a diplomatic post. Anyone who trusted Rabuka is a fool. Same goes for Gulam Mohammed who kept barking about his health specialists. Now N Singh wants to write lengthy essays telling us all about Rabuka too. But at least he writes the truth. Unlike Raju and Mohammed.

Tik Tok is the place for these men. They should gently retire there.

Can Raju declare what he was offered and promised by PAP? He was the ball boy for Tabuya and Rabuka. Acting like he was going to have the most prestigious post in government. Playing puppet.

What happened? How come he is a Mr Nobody now?

To be fair, he is hardly Mr Nobody with the evidence he says he has, which has the potential to cause a major scandal. And he is also hardly the first person to have become disillusioned with the Coalition, whatever ambitions he might have once had.

We all hoped they would produce a better standard of governance. Alas they are worse than their predecessors.

You’ve exposed way too many scandals, the result of which would’ve been execution had this been orchestrated in a jurisdiction like the PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, or lengthy prison sentences and immediate termination in any other western jurisdiction.

The problem is one of “INACTION”, despite the compelling evidence.

Shailen is like anyone else trusting. That he was let down by the snake Rabuka is hardly his issue. He fought the good fight to oust the previous govt we all thought was evil . Alas we now find we are in a worse off situation. But we all learn !

Shalendra can stand in any party and win. I wish he comes to Sodelpa. The face of Sodelpa is changing and now more and more Indo Fijians are there . Radrodro with all his stupid antics as a politician which he will have to learn the hard way is not healthy for leaders who want to lead – has always been a known Indo Fijian and minorities sympathiser because he is an accountant and auditor by profession so he has always worked well with Indo Fijians and others as this is an area not frequented by ITaukei people .

So good on you Shailendra!! Expose those idiots !

It’s how you pursue those dreams – this nobody trying to be a somebody has the credentials to surpass the deceit that even the current people in power have shown after getting elected. At best a disposable useful tool in assisting get rid of the coalition.

We forget they have the pedo president, neutered military, and the nutty CJ on their side.

The coalition will complete the 4 year term and be voted back in for a new 5-year term when the constitution is thrown out by SLR the snake and all the traitors of the minority communities, led by the treacherous Labasa trio agni, choraan, baimaan.

This recording is not a newbie. It first surfaced more than a year ago but at that time most of PAPs useful idiots were still in the thralls of ecstasy about the coalition win. This was published on fb then by some unknowns and maybe even reported but if course the authorities ignored it.

It’s supposedly the voice of king Anwar the nadi land developer who is close buddy of Manoa Cumcummica. In it, he is asking for donations on behalf of manoa and not for the party. He also says that Manoa needs to be the PM and that there’s a lot of support for him to do so and that Rabuka is getting old and forgetful.

So Shailendra “Johnny come lately” is regurgitating old material. But he’s not doing this because of his conscience or because he wants the rule of law etc to prevail. This person from Auckland is doing all this grandstanding simply because he’s been liumuried like he’s never been liumuried before.

He had thrown his all in support of rabuka and Lynda etc before the elections. He wrote numerous articles slandering and gossiping about FijiFirst members. He started baseless rumours, created every type of bullshit story he could think of to discredit ff and even went to the extent of being an uncle Tom and engaged in unrelenting bigotry against Muslims by calling prophet Mohammed pbuh a rapist etc. He even started the rumour that ff had given special priveleges to muslims by giving a public holiday for prophet mohammeds bday.

This hate fuelled by him led to a lot of communal discord between different communities. His then close buddy rajendra chaudhry also did the same and was reported to the NZ law society by the NZ muslim community. Shailendra was warned and eventually deleted all his hate post especially the ones against muslims. You see he had thought if he helped with his racist rhetoric the racist Rabuka would be pleased with him and give him lots of payback after the elections.

But alas..after Shailendra resigned, sold up and moved to Suva he soon found out that the Rabuka and Lynda that he used to support and fund didn’t want to even meet him let alone give him a lucrative diplomatic position. Since the big liumuri, Ahailendra has been licking his wounds and apart from renovating his house and selling suspect vehicles he hasn’t been doing anything constructive. He has been a used, abused and dumped like the cheap Auckland bigoted prostitute that he is.

This bastard is no bastion for law and order. He is just trying to figure what next to do to survive now that he’s stuck in Fiji with a new home office but no job. Pretty soon he will start to cosy up to some other party and may even eventually find an excuse to get back with PAP if the need arises and if there’s no other option. This slimy bigot is bereft of any morals and principles and will suck up to anyone as long as he gets what he wants. Come to think of it he is exactly the same as the devil he once worshipped and funded not so long ago. Shailendra has a special place reserved in hell, just like Rabuka.

Old or new, if someone who can be identified has been trying to secure donations to the PAP without issuing receipts, it is a criminal offence. We shall see.

It sounds as if you have a gripe with Shailendra Raju across a broad front. The rest of us will reserve judgment in this particular issue until we see the evidence. But the integrity of the election process is paramount.

All those who voted this mob in due to the hate of the previous mob and now have big regrets are all so loved-up in this forum. It is so cute!!!
But what I will never understand is how these seemingly educated people, with lots of life experiences, businesses and education could not see a complete, proven and well documented dickhead would be a complete disaster as prime minister. Please do not tell me you were conned and please do not tell me the dickhead had changed. Dickheads never change, it is in their DNA and one cannot change ones DNA.
What it does tell me is that even if you are educated, an award winner and have decades of life experience, it does not necessarily mean that you automatically have brains or have any smarts.
Perhaps it tells us that hate makes people go blind?
That is what the last election was about, wasn’t it? And that is exactly what is currently happening on the ground in Fiji – perpetuating hate with the Constitution bullshit.

So when is the idiot going to tell us all who put him up to do what he did in 1987. Why is he waiting for the TRC? Is it because he wants to bask in glory at the TRC? He has already basked in glory when the TRC Commissioners were announced. The idiot Commissioners could not wait for the photo opportunity with this fool. So one can reach some conclusions about the Commissioners.
But then, this is Fiji, this is one very special place. Honestly.

This reminds me of John Howard (former Australian PM, 1996-2007) and his Treasurer, Peter Costello. Both worked closely on economic reforms, and under their leadership, Australia saw significant economic growth, budget surpluses, and low unemployment. Despite this long partnership, tensions simmered over succession. Costello claims he received informal assurances from Howard or his allies about a future leadership handover, which he saw as a succession plan that never happened. Howard, on the other hand, criticized Costello’s approach to succession, calling his efforts to become prime minister those of a “rank amateur.” No one truly can see through the façade of this coalition, especially at the very top. There’s the public declaration of loyalty to the PM, but who knows what’s being concocted behind closed doors? Rabuka and Manoa or Rabuka and Biman are no Howard and Costello—light years apart. But like Howard in 2007, I hope Rabuka leads his party to an election loss next year, dragging everyone down in his wake.

Whilst I’m all for women’s rights and empowerment, the submission by FWRM and FWCC to reserve 30% of parliamentary seats for women is downright ridiculous.

The irony is that these feminists fight for equality yet they seek special treatment.

It raises critical questions about meritocracy, democratic fairness, and the long-term impact on gender equality. By reserving seats, the democratic process could be compromised. Elections are, ideally, determined by voter preference, reflecting the public’s choice of representatives.

God forbid that with this special treatment, there is a high risk of imbeciles such as the likes of Lynda Tabuya, Taniya Waqanika, Barbara Malimali getting into Parliament.

Imrana Jalal and her band of buffoons at FWRM and FWCC have their own agenda just like Rabuka pushing for amendment to the Constitution and Electoral laws to being back guaranteed reserved seats along ethnic lines.

If Imrana and her buffoons succeed, then we have a situation where women occupy these seats not because of their capabilities or electoral support but simply to fulfill a quota. While she highlights the need for better protection against harassment for female candidates, this should not be used as a justification for special electoral measures.

With this monkey government in power, I guess anything is possible.

I have stopped publishing personal attacks on Shailendra Raju because they have become repetitive and totally beside the point. It is about whether the information he has given the Elections Office has any merit and that’s all that matters as far as I am concerned.

Sounds good GD. Right call. We need to focus on issues not on personal vilification only.

SGR has said his apologies for conduct/positions he previously held. It takes courage to change that comes with the realization that previous positions were perhaps incorrect or misplaced.

Let’s continue discussing challenges we all face currently that worry us as a nation.

Like, isn’t a new budget on the horizon? 18% VAT? Will MPs take a pay cut? What other belt-tightening measures might be revealed? More tak cuts for billionares? Higher taxes for the middle income families?

And thirty percent parliamentry seats for women?

      What next?
30% split into 5% for LGBTQI?
      5% along ethnicities?
      5% along faith groups?
      5% along economically disadvantaged?
      5% for ethnonationalist women?
5% amongst the elite earning NGOs earning $500,000?

Troublesome proposal. Where do we start and where do we stop.

We start and stop at the voting booth. No reservations!

Women are welcome to contest as independents, with any party, or for a women’s party. Elections are not restaurants where one orders from a set menu.

You cannot ask for special treatment and supremacy while advocating for equality.

Gender rights should not mean women’s rights only.

In a democracy one can change their mind about who they support.

SGR is only practicing his democratic rights.

Unlike people like Mr 10% (Pramesh Sharma) who masipolo only for his own personal benefit without an ounce of care for the country.

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.
