Manoa Kamikamica and Biman Prasad have both adopted a posture of nonchalance about being charged by FICAC and forced to relinquish their positions as deputy prime ministers and senior cabinet ministers. But Kamikamica has gone to absurd lengths to make light of the charges against him of perjury and giving false information to the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry.
Mr Sweet’s latest posting on his LinkedIn page announcing his demotion from the cabinet is breathtaking in its audacity. Yet equally astonishing are the “likes” and “loves” from some big names in Fiji and overseas, along with messages of congratulations and best wishes.
One of them, at least, is appropriate – from the well-known local disaster management specialist, Anthony Blake. Because far from being grounds for congratulation, Manoa Kamikamica’s perjury charge carries a maximum seven year jail sentence on conviction and the charge of giving false information to a public official carries a five year sentence, with the all up possibility of 12 years in the slammer.
Most people – sane people at least – would think that’s pretty disastrous. But Mr Sweet is “happy”.

Only in Fiji, eh?
What’s next? “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new sentence in Naboro”?
It maybe isn’t surprising that Manoa Kamikamica is making a virtue of his demotion to the backbench because he and Biman Prasad have both embarked on what is clearly a deliberate strategy to make light of the serious criminal charges against them.
The theory presumably goes that if they pretend their forthcoming trials aren’t important, the Fijian people will think they aren’t important. Because why would they be going around grinning from ear to ear as if nothing has happened?
More astonishing is the conga line of Manoa Kamikamica’s LinkedIn contacts who think that just because he says he’s happy to be sent to the backbench, they should join him in celebration.
Here’s just some of the big names giving Mr Sweet the thumbs up. Starting with the aforementioned Anthony Blake, who doesn’t seem to know the difference between a disaster and a party.

Crikey. “Always knew you would one day!” What. End up in the dock on trial for corruption? What are these people smoking? Or are they having a joke at Mr Sweet’s expense?
It goes on…

You get the drift. Genuinely gob-smacking. And remember: These aren’t gormless village people but high flyers on the world’s biggest professional social media website. Movers and shakers who presumably stay in touch with the news.
So let’s just remind ourselves of why Manoa Kamikamica deserves all the praise and congratulations – the charges against him under the Crimes Act 2009.

Yes, congratulations, Manoa. A wonderful achievement.
Now I’m going to my own LinkedIn page to add a new post:
“I’m happy to share that my new medication is working as I grapple with the torment that the world has gone stark, raving mad”.
————————-
POSTSCRIPT:
Mr Sweet has updated his resume to reflect his altered status. From deputy prime minister to “servant of the people”.

But no mention, naturally, of the serious charges against him.

But the same nonchalant posture as the other bloke…

He is as deluded as he is stupid!!!
Speechless
Congratulations!
Enjoy Sir!
They are both going mad pretending to the fiji and the whole world that rabuka has nothing to do with the ficac charges against them. Everyone knows that Rambo the dog picked up the phone and got the Neanderthal looking head of ficac to sic mano and biman. Even manoa and biman know this and even rabuka knows that they know this. But in true bizarre fiji style extreme stupidity they are all singing words of praise and support about and to each other.
Biman also says this will all be over in a jiffy and Rambo says not likely before elections…but they both thank each other for the mutual love and support. I mean WTF!!.
NFP is in chaos. Everyone in the party is running around like headless chooks pissed off about how Rambo has liumuried biman. But they can’t for some reason say this publicly because they have no dignity and no balls.
Manoa hobbles around on his f**ked up feet smiling even more broadly about being shafted by Rambo. At least he knew a few days before he got rogered by Rambo. Poor impotent hijda Biman didn’t know until the last minute and was busy declaring himself as the climate champion and opening police cell blocks until the Neanderthal with specs sicced him upon Rambo orders.
They are all pretending that all is good and have been doing so for the last 3 years. So much so that even the the jambalaya speaking Elmer Fudd from Nadroga has made a concerted effort to say over the weekend that all is good and nothing to worry about in the coalition govt.
Meanwhile Rambo is so happy about the pretense that he is confusing himself with happiness. Fist he said no females applied for the ambassadorial positions. Then he back tracks because the unsuccessful PAP candidate Liliana Pareti (Warid), who also like Rambo believes Indo Fijians are vulagi, publicly announces that she is a woman and she applied for the position! So just in case Rambo didn’t know she was a woman and not a Neanderthal like the ficac boss, Liliana embarrasses Rambo who now says ..oh sometimes women did apply.
Then the senile Snake back-tracks on the supposed GCC trip to cobo King Charles in person. He tried to be a hero and grandly announced in his most impressive baritone that GCC will soon visit old big ears. This time Seruvakula embarresses Rambo and says there’s no such indication or invitation! So old senile says..”oh the Fiji Times misquoted me, I had said that the gcc would decide who to send as part of the delegation after their next meeting”.
So this time Rambo throws the Fiji Times under the bus and sends a message to the GCC not to buy new suits and sandals because maybe only “a handful” of chiefs may visit Big Ears for the big cobo in londoni.
One lie after another, one disaster after another, one embarrassment after another, one pretence after another. And we the public are told all is well, Fiji is safe and secure under this govt and this farce of a leader!! The only hope we have now is that it looks like baku the buka is increasingly hobbling like Manoa and that this may mean he is that much closer to kicking the tanoa.
Contract winning FB post last night from Stanley Simpson. Like William and Vijay up Waimanu Rd, he will be gunning for more media dollars from the public trough before the elections. “We can move on” then!
“Yes. Vinaka PM for clarifying. I know of a woman who was interviewed for the Jerusalem post, and I saw Liliana had applied for Wellington. Just wrong info given and good PM has acknowledged. We can move on with that but more questions are being raised about the process in appointing people to these positions and the influences at play. I dont recall seeing the Ambassador to Jerusalem post being advertised (was it?) – and a few who applied said they didnt respond to any ads for applicants – they sent in expressions of interest and were interviewed.”
Most of those ‘congratulating’ Manoa missed the point — his poor attempt at sarcasm. That’s how dumb some of the ‘big names’ in Fiji are.
Let’s never forget that his ‘servant of the people’ was justifying the MPs salary increase despite already sitting on a fat salary and despite the pre-election pledge to reduce, not increase salaries. It shows a dishonest, greedy, low level politician. He got what he deserved.
Hope the other instigators and engineers of the salary increase, Linda Tabuya and Biman Prasad get their comeuppance — Biman’s political career is of course over, hopefully Lynda pays a price too for her conniving.
Goofy is the dumbest person I have met – like his dim wife, his intellectual ability is just below an ant. He has fallen on his own sword.
Pussy grabber Pramesh Sharma needs to get his head checked when he called him a corporate governance king. Idiots like this only thrive because of their name. Manoa’s parents were deserving people who we all liked but not this monkey.
Yep that is normal in fiji. Was reading through comments on an fb page where someone wrote a full article about the accident in sigatoka and how the truck driver was too young, and probably got his driving ticket through dubious means, someone replied why not, when we can elect coup leaders and be happy about it so why not. This is the mentality of people in fiji and until it changes politicians will be worshipped like this in fiji.
They are all from the flock.
And also keep the list updated. It will come in handy sometime in the future.
I spilt my coffee when I read all the Indo Fijians ” congratulations”. lol sucked in.
I remember in Vanuatu back in 2015 when 14 government MPs were convicted and went to prison for bribery and corruption.
This needs to be a Pacific wide policy of stamping out greed and corruption.
And no one congratulated Biman.
Obviously no one will congratulate Badhiya Biman.
If we go by social media, then 85-90% of Indo-Fijians are rejoicing that Badhiya Biman is gone. And rightly so.
This is what happens when you betray your core loyal supporters, candidates, party values and principles and importantly, the interests of the minority community. All for appeasing and worshipping Snake Rambo and getting the junior Deputy PM position. Good riddance.
The useful idiots of Fiji.
Blokes as proud as Roger Rogerson. When you know you’ve done the crime, hold your head up high and flaunt it like it’s in fashion.
Manoa knows the charges will be dropped and at worst, he will end up with a slap on the wrist with no formal criminal conviction recorded, like Bainivalu. This will allow Manoa to stand in the next elections.
Biman is a lost cause. From those around him and understanding the language (and with their ears close to their home), they have already had a massive argument within the confines of their house as she’s called out his previous indiscretions and now his corruption. Apparently the argument was about how ashamed she was feeling and also highlighted the impact on their children.
At this point, Biman is better off doing a Khaiyum move and sleeping in his office to prevent any further summons being served.
The charges cannot simply be dropped. The wheels of justice have already begun to turn and there is hard evidence of the charges against him – including from his seized mobile phone. Then there are further charges pending.
It is all false bravado. From him and from Wylie Clarke, who will be living in fear that he will be next because of the recommendations of the CoI.
I’m no legal wizard so some of these go over my head unfortunately.
What about Richard Naidu when he was found guilty and the case was somehow dropped quietly or something?
I think the interesting bit is that with this government and judiciary, things that we (normal people) believe are not going to happen, somehow still happen and people we believed were going to end up in Naboro, reaching for the soap off the floor, seem to go Scott free while the rest of us are left scratching our heads and arses.
One can only hope that Manoa and Biman will be convicted as it would say a lot about the independence and impartiality of the judiciary in Fiji.
Remember how Kamikamica said that when he was paid more he would work harder? Does this mean that he will work less now he has been demoted?
Servant of the people???!!!!
Didn’t this asshole say they need to get paid more (by sucking up more tax payers hard earned money) to be able to work harder for the people of Fiji.
So now this dickhead is on a reduced salary as a backbencher and suddenly the thought of the people miraculously popped up in his dung filled head. He is now the so called servant! Where the f**k were you when the people really needed you – you were voted in to bring a change- not milk the tax payers hard earned money and put it into your bank account.
No Sirrrrr…you can f**k off for all I care. You are only trying to suck up to the tax payers now that you’ve been f**ked by your Master. And now you are thinking about the people who survive on meager incomes.
You and Baimaan will need more than just being a servant of the people to redeem yourselves.
I wonder if God has spoken to you directly or not yet. Perhaps turn up to Church on Sunday and He just might connect with you soon – like you all usually claim.
Karma is a bitch – but there’s still a lot more coming for you and Baimaan and others like you lot.
The gout medication must be getting to him..
No GD, not “gout gout” :+>
I wonder what will happen to all those billion dollar projects stuck in Manoa’s pipeline?
How long is the pipe?
Depends on how long he takes to smoke it
In other news, Blinky Bill blames the media for exaggerating Fiji’s social woes.
Not my government has really lost the plot.
They been drinking too much todi under the mango trees.
Blinky Bill comes from a tribe of the “chosen people” and many things were promised to them 3000 years ago. Even a free flight to the “chosen land”. Whilst there at the chosen land flying free on tax payers funds, Blinky Bill must have whacked his head too hard against the wailing wall.
The sh*t coming out of this freeloader is utter nonsense. The clown is trying his best to ensure he remains significant and he knows his time is up come 2026 or perhaps even sooner.
The methanol really scrambled his brain. Maybe a tsunami might fix it.
What Jambalaya Blinky was asking the media to do was to not report the truth – no drugs, HIV, or crime reporting.
In other words, Jambalaya is begging the media to lie, mislead, and hide the truth for tourism at the expense of the people of Fiji.
Sometimes the nicest people you meet smoke, drink and swear…and the most evil people you meet go to church every Sunday.
Thats funny, but has an element of truth
The PM says he is not aware when asked questions. The minister for health says he was made aware of the virus outbreak, Gavoka says the cocktail results were sent to NZ for analysis and he is not aware of what happened after that.
According to someone on grubsheet, there was a fight between the Chands as he has been caught and caused shame to the family. So they were not ashamed when they were on the chow train.
Some chiefs are uttering sounds like the itaukei need to work their resources etc. The President is having a ball in Europe probably confessing his sins in Rome. The buildings are rising in suva at the backs of ordinary itaukeis and fancy functions attended by friends and cronies.
It will take years to pay debts to financial institutions and you wonder why the itaukeis are not progressing. Most will never see a cent from all these high rise buildings. I should write a book on this.
Meanwhile, in other news, the Slow Death Party decides Blinky Bill will remain DPM even though the wife beater is party leader.
Jerusalem did it for him.
3 cheers for the lost tribe – oooh aaah, oooh aaah, oooh.
Those imbeciles congratulating Mr. Sweet ought to be given free passes to the ”hotel” on Reservoir Road. Just sheer stupidity like Manoa.
Great Job Team Manoa PR/Media crew.
As for Blinky Bill; [BB] totally out of his depth on aviation matters and, BB ain’t sure if he is on mother earth or caught up in some Tsunami deep in the blue pacific.
The ”Circus Clowns” are now trying to extradite Pryde who was cleared and faces a ”kangaroo court” under Chief Clown, Salesi Temo. PAP leadership, continues to showcase daily to the world; their incompetence, poor governance record and inability to fix our ailing economy. Lawd, please save us from these crooked and incompetent clowns!
You obvously do not understand how LinkedIn works. And stupid to think that he would need to update his current charges there.
Understandable that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
I guess keeping the feeding frenzy going is tickling your sorry old muna to last another day. Let’s hope you will still be with us and lucid enough to write about Mr Sweet when becomes PM.
Stick to writing about those your age. Start with your Mr Prezzie checking out a fancy mosque in the middle east and remembering the martyrs. How does this benefit Fijians? That we have a president that appreciates grand designs? Who the hell is funding his long awaited 6th honeymoon, I mean holiday for Naiqama.
Mr Sweet will never be prime minister. Of that you can be certain.
