# PONTIUS SITI WASHES HIS HANDS OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH SALESI TEMO WITH A BIG LASULASU-JHOOT

Posted on June 25, 2025 35 Comments

So Fiji is to be saddled with a corrupt Chief Justice who stands accused by a judicial inquiry of abuse of office and obstructing and perverting the course of justice because the Prime Minister says he is powerless to remove him. Sitiveni Rabuka does a Pontius Pilate and washes his hands of any responsibility to deal with Salesi Temo with an … [Read more...] about # PONTIUS SITI WASHES HIS HANDS OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH SALESI TEMO WITH A BIG LASULASU-JHOOT

# DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH SITI, THE CHIEF JUSTICE GETS A NEW “PRESIDENTIAL” VEHICLE DESPITE FACING CORRUPTION CHARGES AND BEING JUST PLAIN DUMB

Posted on June 24, 2025 31 Comments

It beggars belief that the Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, is still in place despite the devastating findings against him by the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry into the Malimali Affair. But community incredulity will soar to an entirely new level with the news that the CJ is getting a new SUV to carry him around in the splendour to which he thinks … [Read more...] about # DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH SITI, THE CHIEF JUSTICE GETS A NEW “PRESIDENTIAL” VEHICLE DESPITE FACING CORRUPTION CHARGES AND BEING JUST PLAIN DUMB

# ADVENTURES IN LA-LA LAND. THE MADNESS DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WITH SITI

Posted on June 23, 2025 17 Comments

So the leak of the COI Report that Grubsheet readers have been digesting for the past week has "triggered a political reckoning" that has forced the Prime Minister into an undertaking that the government will release the unredacted version. That's what the Fiji Times is reporting on this morning's front page at the same time as it carries an "in … [Read more...] about # ADVENTURES IN LA-LA LAND. # THE MOTHER OF ALL LEAKS. WHAT ON EARTH DID THE PRIME MINISTER EXPECT? (UPDATED 1000 FIJI TIME)

Posted on June 20, 2025 10 Comments

It has now been seven weeks since Justice David Ashton-Lewis and Janet Mason handed their Commission of Inquiry Report into the Barbara Malimali affair to the President and Prime Minister and they have sat on it like two hens refusing to yield their eggs. Sitiveni Rabuka has flip-flopped between promising that the report would be made public, … [Read more...] about # THE MOTHER OF ALL LEAKS. WHAT ON EARTH DID THE PRIME MINISTER EXPECT? # NO MAN IS AN ISLAND. AND THE “ALCOHOLIC VIPER” IS IN TROUBLE AGAIN (UPDATED FRIDAY PM)

Posted on June 20, 2025 4 Comments

I invited Professor Jon Fraenkel to respond to my criticism yesterday of the front page Fiji Times story in which he was quoted as having slammed Justice David Ashton-Lewis for a "disgraceful interference with Fiji politics". Alas the Professor has a thin-skin and has taken particular exception to some of the comments by Grubsheet readers about … [Read more...] about # NO MAN IS AN ISLAND. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
