# “A DAMNING AND SYSTEMIC FAILURE OF INTEGRITY AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF FIJI’S GOVERNANCE AND JUSTICE SYSTEMS”

Posted on June 17, 2025 9 Comments

The David Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry Report into the Barbara Malimali affair is a searing indictment of how the Coalition government has degraded Fiji's institutions of state during its two-and-a half years in power. And it simply isn't an option for the scandalous conduct it has exposed to be covered up and for it to be business as usual. … [Read more...] about # “A DAMNING AND SYSTEMIC FAILURE OF INTEGRITY AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF FIJI’S GOVERNANCE AND JUSTICE SYSTEMS”

# FINALLY, THE DOCUMENT THEY’VE TRIED TO SUPPRESS – THE POSSIBLE OFFENCES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE ASHTON-LEWIS COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

Posted on June 17, 2025 42 Comments

Grubsheet is today publishing Chapters 7 and 8 of the Commission of Inquiry Report into the circumstances of Barbara Malimali’s appointment as FICAC Commissioner. These have been leaked to me and I strongly believe that publishing them is in the public interest, especially given the attempts to suppress the COI Report. It isn’t the entire … [Read more...] about # FINALLY, THE DOCUMENT THEY’VE TRIED TO SUPPRESS – THE POSSIBLE OFFENCES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE ASHTON-LEWIS COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

# IS THE PRESIDENT MOUNTING A CONSTITUTIONAL COUP? BECAUSE IF HE IS, HE MUST BE REMOVED

Posted on June 17, 2025 10 Comments

Disturbing reports are reaching Grubsheet that the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, is refusing to act on the advice of the Prime Minister to release the Commission of Inquiry Report into the Malimali affair and order that its recommendations be implemented. Some sensational developments are being alleged: There is already a grave … [Read more...] about # IS THE PRESIDENT MOUNTING A CONSTITUTIONAL COUP? BECAUSE IF HE IS, HE MUST BE REMOVED

# THE FIJI TIMES AGAIN CORRUPTS ITS “NATIONAL NEWS” COLUMNS WITH A BLATANT PROMOTION FOR THE MOTIBHAI PATEL’S COMMERCIAL INTERESTS (UPDATED)

Posted on June 16, 2025 17 Comments

Guess what, Fiji? India's Amrut whisky has arrived in the country. And it is "national news" in the nation's newspaper of record since 1869, which has been so corrupted by its current owners that they routinely and shamelessly use it to promote their commercial interests and political proclivities. In any other country, the Motibhai Patels of … [Read more...] about # THE FIJI TIMES AGAIN CORRUPTS ITS “NATIONAL NEWS” COLUMNS WITH A BLATANT PROMOTION FOR THE MOTIBHAI PATEL’S COMMERCIAL INTERESTS (UPDATED)

# RICHARD NAIDU COPS A BLAST FROM ANOTHER PROMINENT MEMBER OF THE INDO-FIJIAN RESISTANCE MOVEMENT OF 1987

Posted on June 16, 2025 10 Comments

As Grubsheet reported on the weekend, the man who was once a principled advocate for good governance and almost wound up in a lovo pit dug for him by ethno-nationalists in 1987 says he is "sick" of the Commission of Inquiry into the Malimali Affair and has defended the right of ethno-nationalists to stage marches calling for the abolition of the … [Read more...] about # RICHARD NAIDU COPS A BLAST FROM ANOTHER PROMINENT MEMBER OF THE INDO-FIJIAN RESISTANCE MOVEMENT OF 1987

# RICHARD “I HAVE THE MEANS” NAIDU IS SICK OF THE ASHTON-LEWIS COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. WELL HE WOULD BE, WOULDN’T HE? (UPDATED SUNDAY)

Posted on June 14, 2025 26 Comments

There's nothing like a rush of adrenaline to rouse the sick from their beds and Grubsheet is suddenly feeling a lot less ill with the surge of anger that has been my response this morning to one of lawyer Richard Naidu's now very rare articles in the Fiji Times. The subject is the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry into the Barbara Malimali … [Read more...] about # RICHARD “I HAVE THE MEANS” NAIDU IS SICK OF THE ASHTON-LEWIS COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
