Posted on May 29, 2024 11 Comments

Manoa Kamikamica is the son of one of Fiji's finest civil servants and politicians - the late Josevata Kamikamica - who was renowned for his integrity both in government and when he broke away from Sitiveni Rabuka in the 1990s to form the Fijian Association with the late Ratu Finau Mara, son of founding prime minister of Fiji, the late Ratu Sir … [Read more...] about # WHY MANOA KAMIKAMICA IS UNFIT TO LEAD

# GET SET FOR THE AXE TO FALL

Posted on May 28, 2024 16 Comments

Grubsheet has no inside knowledge of what happens in FijiFirst, having fallen out with Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and having campaigned against them at the last election. But I know the inside workings of Khaiyum's mind almost as much as I know my own having worked intimately with him for six years. And I certainly know how … [Read more...] about # GET SET FOR THE AXE TO FALL

Now here's a turn-up, Fiji. Sitiveni Rabuka is threatening to "take action" against the NFP for not supporting its Coalition partners' unconscionable increases in MPs pay and conditions. He doesn't say precisely what action he intends to take. But fancy the Prime Minister threatening Biman Prasad for not diving into the fires of hell with him, … [Read more...] about # TIME TO MAN UP, BIMAN, AND FACE DOWN THE BULLY PM

Just when you think you've seen it all, Fiji, something even more mind-boggling emerges to take your breath away - like Lynda Tabuya altering her Facebook page tonight to put up a new cover picture suggesting to the nation she deserves an award for being a lying, conniving, greedy, licentious piece of work. This woman and her husband, Rob … [Read more...] about # “JEZEBEL” TOTALLY LOSES IT.

# BREAKING NEWS…FIJIFIRST IN TURMOIL

Posted on May 26, 2024 16 Comments

In an astonishing development, FijiFirst reveals that those of its MPs who voted for the controversial pay and allowance increases on Friday did so in direct contravention of an instruction from the Acting General Secretary of the Party, Faiyaz Koya. Koya, of course, will have been acting on the instructions of the Party leader, Frank Bainimarama, … [Read more...] about # BREAKING NEWS…FIJIFIRST IN TURMOIL

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
