# THE MURDEROUS HIGH CHIEF HOLDING THE NATION TO RANSOM

Posted on April 18, 2024 24 Comments

Today's Fiji Sun confirms what many suspected - that the Qaranivalu - Naitasiri High Chief, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata - is the hand in the glove of the new SODELPA leader, Aseri Radrodro, in his attempt to be restored to the Education Ministry and reassert SODELPA control over the Coalition government. With the deadline having now passed for the … [Read more...] about # THE MURDEROUS HIGH CHIEF HOLDING THE NATION TO RANSOM

# FBC PUTS LYNDA’S POLITICAL CAREER WHERE IT BELONGS

Posted on April 17, 2024 3 Comments

It's hard to know whether it was a genuine mistake or someone at the national broadcaster has a subversive sense of humour. But FBC News has had a very unfortunate juxtaposition in its coverage of a parliamentary speech by the Minister for Bonking and Weed. Gone are the glamorous shots of Lynda Tabuya that once made her a national fashion icon … [Read more...] about # FBC PUTS LYNDA’S POLITICAL CAREER WHERE IT BELONGS

# HIGH NOON FOR THE COALITION

Posted on April 17, 2024 24 Comments

"Blinky Bill" Gavoka has until the end of today (Wednesday) to relinquish the post of Education Minister and hand it over to the new SODELPA leader, Aseri Radrodro, or face the prospect of expulsion from the party and the parliament. Will Binky blink? It doesn't seem remotely possible. Which means that the ball is now in the court of SODELPA's … [Read more...] about # HIGH NOON FOR THE COALITION

# SODELPA SIGNS ITS DEATH WARRANT (AND MAYBE THE COALITION’S TOO)

Posted on April 15, 2024 37 Comments

The Coalition government is again in crisis with the astonishing decision by SODELPA to choose Aseri Radrodro as its next leader and its demand that he be immediately reinstated to his old job of Minister for Education. It is a direct challenge to the authority of the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, who removed Radrodro from the cabinet for … [Read more...] about # SODELPA SIGNS ITS DEATH WARRANT (AND MAYBE THE COALITION’S TOO)

# A SHAMELESS LIE

Posted on April 15, 2024 13 Comments

We know that Sitiveni Rabuka is a habitual liar but his latest lasulasu-jhoot really takes the keke. The Prime Minister says it isn't true what Grubsheet reported last week - that the Chair of the PAP's disciplinary committee, Alefina Vuki, resigned from the committee and the People's Alliance in protest at Sitiveni Rabuka's decision to retain … [Read more...] about # A SHAMELESS LIE

# BEN WANTS BEN REMOVED ALTOGETHER

Posted on April 15, 2024 1 Comment

The Australian newspaper reports the removal of Colonel Ben Naliva as deputy commander of the 7th Brigade of the Australian Defence Force ( see previous story) but sidelining him into a research role hasn't appeased one of his accusers - the colourful Suva businessman, Ben Padarath. Padarath wants Naliva sacked from the ADF altogether and … [Read more...] about # BEN WANTS BEN REMOVED ALTOGETHER

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
