# FLASHBACK: EXPOSED-SCANDAL AT THE FIJI SUN

Posted on March 16, 2022 1 Comment

MARCH 1 2022: Conclusive proof in the accompanying table and graph that the Fiji Sun tampered with the latest Western Force opinion poll to bolster the poll’s findings on the popularity of the Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, and reduce the standing of the People’s Alliance Party leader, Sitiveni Rabuka. It is a betrayal of public trust that … [Read more...] about # FLASHBACK: EXPOSED-SCANDAL AT THE FIJI SUN

# VALE PETER LOMAS: A CHECKERED LEGACY

Posted on March 16, 2022 2 Comments

There has been lavish coverage in the Fiji Sun on the passing of its publisher and CEO, Peter Lomas, who died at the CWM Hospital in Suva last week after what the paper described as a short illness and whose funeral took place yesterday. Yet in true Fiji Sun style, its readers didn’t get the full story about Peter Lomas any more than they get the … [Read more...] about # VALE PETER LOMAS: A CHECKERED LEGACY

# THE MAIN SITE IS BACK

Posted on March 16, 2022 3 Comments

After a period exclusively on Facebook - where more than half a million Fijians have accounts - Grubsheet returns to our main website in the lead-up to the 2022 election, which is expected to be called early and means the country may be going to the polls as early as July. As well as the contemporary stories, we'll also be republishing the major … [Read more...] about # THE MAIN SITE IS BACK

# RABUKA’S TRUCK THROUGH SODELPA

Posted on November 29, 2021 1 Comment

And so it begins. The unravelling of SODELPA as its Deputy Leader, Filimoni Vosarogo, resigns to join Sitiveni Rabuka's People's Alliance. We had a hint of this on the weekend when Vosarogo was pictured in the Fiji Times with the star Alliance recruit, Ajay Amrit, above an article in which Amrit expressed glowing admiration for the prominent Suva … [Read more...] about # RABUKA’S TRUCK THROUGH SODELPA

# A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT

Posted on November 24, 2021 6 Comments

The Puppet with his iPad. Conclusive proof of the ineptness of the Prime Minister and his total dependence on the words fed to him by Qorvis and the AG. This interview with Sky News is an embarrassment for Frank Bainimarama and for every Fijian. Because we now know - if we didn't know already - why he has always been so dependent on Aiyaz … [Read more...] about # A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT

# A PUPPET HEAD OF STATE

Posted on November 23, 2021 5 Comments

There is something deeply cynical about a government that writes a speech for our Head of State that is mostly in the first person and is riddled with personal references and yet he had nothing whatsoever to do with. The President’s speech opening the parliament is written by Qorvis on the instructions of the AG and is approved by him. I know this … [Read more...] about # A PUPPET HEAD OF STATE

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
