# SIROMI TURAGA. ANOTHER LIAR WHO MUST GO.

Posted on February 2, 2024 13 Comments

A veteran lawyer who is one of the biggest names in the legal profession and has been a strong supporter of the Coalition since before the last election startled Grubsheet this week with a devastating critique of the Rabuka government, describing it as “disorganised and hopeless”. He said the Coalition was chronically unable to implement … [Read more...] about # SIROMI TURAGA. ANOTHER LIAR WHO MUST GO.

LYNDA’S PRIZES. A BOAT AND LOTS OF BOOZE

Posted on February 2, 2024 9 Comments

The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection has been dedicating a great deal of time and effort to promoting a raffle to raise money for her favoured Kadavu rugby club. But the prizes on offer have raised the hackles of a number of our readers who have been shocked that apart from the main prize of a boat and outboard motor, the rest of … [Read more...] about LYNDA’S PRIZES. # OH OH. SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT

Posted on February 1, 2024 11 Comments

Two months after the Minister for Finance, Biman Prasad, talked up the economy with a rosy prediction of the state of the nation's prospects comes a warning from the Reserve Bank Governor, Ariff Ali, that challenging times lie ahead. Which is it, fellas? You can't maintain economic confidence with two separate narratives about the country's … [Read more...] about # OH OH. SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT

LYNDA ANSWERS THE CALL OF THE TURTLES

Posted on February 1, 2024 9 Comments

The calling of the turtles has made the villagers of Namuana in Kadavu world famous so it's no surprise that Lynda Tabuya has answered the call by choosing Namuana as a bolthole to escape the national whispering campaign over her drug-fuelled sexual encounter with Aseri Radrodro. The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection has taken … [Read more...] about LYNDA ANSWERS THE CALL OF THE TURTLES

# THE STRANGE SILENCE OVER BEN NALIVA

Posted on February 1, 2024 3 Comments

Clearly an allegation against a senior Fijian military officer of trying to sodomise someone with a rifle barrel isn’t enough in these challenging times to raise the ire of politicians and the media. Have we all become so inured to outrage that we are now incapable of being shocked by anything? Because how else to explain the almost total silence … [Read more...] about # THE STRANGE SILENCE OVER BEN NALIVA

# ER, LANGLEY, MY COVER IS BLOWN

Posted on January 31, 2024 7 Comments

Only in Fiji, eh? The Deputy Director of the CIA gets his picture on the front page of the Fiji Times. The look on his face says it all. Damn it. Now every two bit terrorist gets to see my dial. Guess at least I better straighten my tie. Hi Mom! The spy who came in from the cold of Langley, Virginia, right into the heat of total exposure in … [Read more...] about # ER, LANGLEY, MY COVER IS BLOWN

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
