# PIO TIKODUADUA AND AND SASHI KIRAN RUMOURED TO BE DEFECTING FROM THE NFP TO THE PEOPLE’S ALLIANCE

Posted on September 28, 2026 16 Comments

Why were two of the four remaining NFP MPs - Defence Minister Pio Tikoduadua and Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran - so glaringly absent from the party's annual convention on Saturday? Rumours sweeping political circles say both of them are about to leave the NFP and join the People's Alliance. Which if true, tells … [Read more...] about # PIO TIKODUADUA AND AND SASHI KIRAN RUMOURED TO BE DEFECTING FROM THE NFP TO THE PEOPLE’S ALLIANCE

# FRANK STARTS CAMPAIGNING FOR ONE NATION. BUT WHO IS THE PARTY’S LEADER? (UPDATED)

Posted on September 27, 2026 5 Comments

Frank Bainimarama has finally broken cover to confirm what Grubsheet first reported six months ago - that he is the force behind the newly-formed One Nation party, along with his trusty lieutenant, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum. Bainimarama - who won far more votes than anyone else at the 2022 election - can't contest the coming poll because of the prison … [Read more...] about # FRANK STARTS CAMPAIGNING FOR ONE NATION. # LOOK WHO’S COMING BACK. RAJENDRA CHAUDHRY POISED TO RETURN TO FIJI TO ASSIST HIS FATHER’S ELECTION CAMPAIGN

Posted on September 26, 2026 15 Comments

A partial victory in the Court of Appeal that has set aside the penalties against him for contempt of court has paved the way for Rajendra Chaudhry - the exiled lawyer and son of the former prime minister, Mahendra Chaudhry - to return to Fiji without being arrested on arrival. It is a major boost for the Labour Party's campaign for the coming … [Read more...] about # LOOK WHO’S COMING BACK. # WHAT GAME IS RABUKA PLAYING? AND WHAT CHANGES ARE BEING MADE TO THE CRC DRAFT CONSTITUTION BY THE CABINET SUBCOMMITTEE WORKING TO HIS DIRECTION?

Posted on September 25, 2026 3 Comments

They don't call Sitiveni Rabuka "The Snake" for nothing. Apart from arguably being the most Machiavellian* politician in Fijian history, the Prime Minister slithers around in his public positions so much that it is sometimes impossible to discern what he stands for from one moment to the next. This reptilian dexterity means that he often runs … [Read more...] about # WHAT GAME IS RABUKA PLAYING? # NEVER MIND WHAT’S IN THE SUGGESTED DRAFT CONSTITUTION, ROLEX RAMBO CONFIRMS WE’LL GET WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS

Posted on September 23, 2026 12 Comments

Just as Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum rejected the Yash Ghai draft for the 2013 Constitution, Sitiveni Rabuka has indicated that the Coalition may also reject portions of the draft constitution suggested by the Constitution Review Commission. He's made it clear that it will be what the government wants - or more particularly what the … [Read more...] about # NEVER MIND WHAT’S IN THE SUGGESTED DRAFT CONSTITUTION, ROLEX RAMBO CONFIRMS WE’LL GET WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS

# THE NEW DRAFT CONSTITUTION. SO FAR SO GOOD (MOSTLY). BUT WILL THE GOVERNMENT ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATIONS OR IMPOSE ITS OWN VERSION?

Posted on September 22, 2026 18 Comments

The worst fears of the minorities that their principal rights under the 2013 Constitution would be terminated or tampered with in the new draft of a supreme law recommended by the Constitution Review Commission appear to have been misplaced. To a point. The common and equal citizenry - equal rights and equal opportunities for all irrespective of … [Read more...] about # THE NEW DRAFT CONSTITUTION. SO FAR SO GOOD (MOSTLY). About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
