# NEVER MIND WHAT’S IN THE SUGGESTED DRAFT CONSTITUTION, ROLEX RAMBO CONFIRMS WE’LL GET WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS

Posted on September 23, 2026 12 Comments

Just as Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum rejected the Yash Ghai draft for the 2013 Constitution, Sitiveni Rabuka has indicated that the Coalition may also reject portions of the draft constitution suggested by the Constitution Review Commission. He's made it clear that it will be what the government wants - or more particularly what the … [Read more...] about # NEVER MIND WHAT’S IN THE SUGGESTED DRAFT CONSTITUTION, ROLEX RAMBO CONFIRMS WE’LL GET WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS

# THE NEW DRAFT CONSTITUTION. SO FAR SO GOOD (MOSTLY). BUT WILL THE GOVERNMENT ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATIONS OR IMPOSE ITS OWN VERSION?

Posted on September 22, 2026 18 Comments

The worst fears of the minorities that their principal rights under the 2013 Constitution would be terminated or tampered with in the new draft of a supreme law recommended by the Constitution Review Commission appear to have been misplaced. To a point. The common and equal citizenry - equal rights and equal opportunities for all irrespective of … [Read more...] about # THE NEW DRAFT CONSTITUTION. SO FAR SO GOOD (MOSTLY). # THE SUPERCILIOUS GRIN GIVES WAY TO A LOOK OF FEAR AS RICHARD NAIDU FAILS TO DERAIL BIMAN PRASAD’S TRIAL (UPDATED)

Posted on September 21, 2026 24 Comments

Lawyer Richard Naidu has resorted to every possible legal means to prevent the corruption trial of the NFP leader, BIman Prasad, from going ahead. But he has failed. And the stakes of having done so couldn't be higher. For Biman Prasad, it is a calamity. Because if he continues to resist the notion of stepping down until he is cleared of the … [Read more...] about # THE SUPERCILIOUS GRIN GIVES WAY TO A LOOK OF FEAR AS RICHARD NAIDU FAILS TO DERAIL BIMAN PRASAD’S TRIAL (UPDATED)

# WELCOME TO FIJI, PACIFIC DEFENCE MINISTERS. WHERE OUR MILITARY STILL GETS AWAY WITH TORTURE AND MURDER

Posted on September 20, 2026 13 Comments

Poor Pio Tikoduadua won't like to confront the fact but the ghost of Jone Vakarisi hovers over this week's gathering of South Pacific defence ministers as an example of what not to do in our celebrated "ocean of peace". See, it has now been more than five months since the accused drug dealer was killed while in the custody of the RFMF at the … [Read more...] about # WELCOME TO FIJI, PACIFIC DEFENCE MINISTERS. # PORTRAIT OF A THUG. THE “BAD APPLE” IN THE JUDICIARY IS THE CORRUPT CHIEF JUSTICE HIMSELF

Posted on September 19, 2026 6 Comments

The fact that cocaine can disappear from the High Court during criminal proceedings is bad enough. But the response to this travesty by the Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, can only compound public alarm about the state of the judiciary under his leadership. Angry and humiliated by an astonishing breach of security on his watch, Temo has lashed out … [Read more...] about # PORTRAIT OF A THUG. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
