# A PHOTO YOU WON’T SEE ON THE GOVERNMENT’S FACEBOOK PAGE

Posted on October 13, 2025 28 Comments

Alexandra Forwood is the bane of Sitiveni Rabuka's existence - a one-woman whirlwind bombarding his government with a constant stream of emails demanding action or answers as it lurches from crisis to crisis and scandal to scandal. Alex marks all of these emails "without prejudice" as an apparent device to minimise the threat of defamation … [Read more...] about # A PHOTO YOU WON’T SEE ON THE GOVERNMENT’S FACEBOOK PAGE

# INTRODUCING OUR NEW COLUMNIST. COMMONMAN. AN ITAUKEI FARMER AND AUTHENTIC VOICE FROM THE VANUA

Posted on October 12, 2025 34 Comments

GD writes: Who most has their finger on the pulse of grassroots opinion in Fiji? Certainly not commentators like Grubsheet or columnists in the mainstream media. It is someone sharing the everyday experiences of ordinary people who are sometimes living extraordinary lives. And Grubsheet has found that someone. He's a farmer working his teitei in … [Read more...] about # INTRODUCING OUR NEW COLUMNIST. COMMONMAN. AN ITAUKEI FARMER AND AUTHENTIC VOICE FROM THE VANUA

# WE KNOW ELECTION PANIC IS TAKING HOLD WHEN THE FINANCE MINISTER SAYS “VOTE FOR US AND WE CAN BE JUST LIKE OVERSEAS”. WE’VE SEEN IT ALL BEFORE

Posted on October 11, 2025 16 Comments

What do Biman Prasad and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum have in common? A great deal of lasulasu-jhoot when they hold out the prospect of Fiji joining the first world if only voters are smart enough to keep them in office. You'll remember how we all laughed and laughed when Aiyaz said before the last election that Fiji could be "better than Australia and … [Read more...] about # WE KNOW ELECTION PANIC IS TAKING HOLD WHEN THE FINANCE MINISTER SAYS “VOTE FOR US AND WE CAN BE JUST LIKE OVERSEAS”. # SITIVENI RABUKA’S BIG EFF YOU TO FIJI ON THE 55TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

Posted on October 10, 2025 20 Comments

It simply beggars belief that as the Opposition calls for him to remove the corrupt Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, the Prime Minister is not only unmoved but inflicts Temo on the nation as Acting President for the Independence Day commemorations in Suva. Feast your eyes on the following photos, Fiji, and keep in your mind's eye the appalling … [Read more...] about # SITIVENI RABUKA’S BIG EFF YOU TO FIJI ON THE 55TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

# HAPPY FIJI DAY! IF YOU CAN BEAR TO CELEBRATE A NATION THAT IS BROKEN AND IN DECLINE (UPDATED)

Posted on October 10, 2025 11 Comments

So, Fiji. We now have an accused perjurer and obstructor of justice as the nation's head of state as the Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, takes over as Acting President during Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu's absence in the United States. It ought to be the cause of national shame. But such is the perverse nature of governance in Fiji almost three years … [Read more...] about # HAPPY FIJI DAY! # VICTOR LAL EMERGES FROM THE SWAMP ON THE SIDE OF THE CROCODILES

Posted on October 9, 2025 11 Comments

The expatriate Fiji-born journalist and academic, Victor Lal, casts himself as "Editor-in-Chief of Fijileaks' when like Grubsheet, his is a one-man operation from his home on the outskirts of the famous British university city of Oxford. But he is still a powerhouse of information and specialises in material leaked to him by his many sources in … [Read more...] about # VICTOR LAL EMERGES FROM THE SWAMP ON THE SIDE OF THE CROCODILES

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
