# DONALD TRUMP DEALS FIJI WATER A HUGE BLOW WITH HIS 32 PER CENT TARIFF ON FIJIAN IMPORTS

Posted on April 3, 2025 28 Comments

Stewart and Faye Resnick - the billionaire owners of Fiji Water - were presumably looking to Donald Trump to improve trading conditions in America for their Wonderful Company and will have been pole-axed by his new administration's decision today to charge a 32 per cent tariff on every Fijian item imported into the United States. Water is by far … [Read more...] about # DONALD TRUMP DEALS FIJI WATER A HUGE BLOW WITH HIS 32 PER CENT TARIFF ON FIJIAN IMPORTS

# THE QUEEN OF TARTS GETS THE ROYAL TREATMENT IN LONDON AS A SUPPOSEDLY HUMBLE BACKBENCHER. BUT WHO IS PAYING? (UPDATED THURS AM)

Posted on April 2, 2025 28 Comments

The orgy of Coalition self-entitlement continues as the sole People's Alliance backbench member of parliament - the porn star and ex-Minister for Bonking and Weed, Lynda Tabuya - lives it up in far-off London. She is being squired around in the official diplomatic BMW - registration number "FIJI" - by the nation's High Commissioner to the UK, … [Read more...] about # THE QUEEN OF TARTS GETS THE ROYAL TREATMENT IN LONDON AS A SUPPOSEDLY HUMBLE BACKBENCHER. The minimum wage in Fiji goes up 50 cents to $5 an hour today. That's $40 for an eight-hour day, $200 for a five-day week, $10,400 for a 52-week year. More than half the nation officially lives in poverty. Yet on the front page of today's Fiji Times, the FijiFirst "rat" and Minister for Immigration, Viliame Naupoto, flashes an expensive ring … [Read more...] about # COALITION OF BLING. # JUST REPEATING FOR THOSE WHO THINK MY PREDICTION THAT ROLEX RAMBO WILL WIN THE NEXT ELECTION IS AN ENDORSEMENT

Posted on March 28, 2025 39 Comments

Some people have misconstrued my last article predicting that Sitiveni Rabuka will win next year's election as an expression of support for the Prime Minister when it is definitely NOT. Incredibly, word has reached me that this misapprehension evidently extends to certain individuals believing that Grubsheet has been the recipient of a gold … [Read more...] about # JUST REPEATING FOR THOSE WHO THINK MY PREDICTION THAT ROLEX RAMBO WILL WIN THE NEXT ELECTION IS AN ENDORSEMENT

The announcement that 14 new "proposed" political parties have declared their interest with the Elections Office in contesting the 2026 election has set off a wave of speculation in the national media about what it all means. Yet the answer is very simple. Nothing. Assuming, that is, that we go to the polls next year under the current electoral … [Read more...] about # AND THE WINNER OF THE 2026 ELECTION IS? About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
