# H.E THE PRESIDENT HUMILIATED BY HIS LORDSHIP THE HUMAN CAR CRASH

Posted on September 23, 2024 19 Comments

Salesi Temo, the Acting Chief Justice and head of the Judicial Services Commission, is a walking disaster and it is one of Fiji's great mysteries that he is allowed to continue in the job. That he does so after a succession of public scandals tells us not only that he regards himself as a law unto himself but that the Prime Minister, Sitiveni … [Read more...] about # H.E THE PRESIDENT HUMILIATED BY HIS LORDSHIP THE HUMAN CAR CRASH

# WHO IS RUNNING THE NATION? RABUKA OR RABUKU?

Posted on September 22, 2024 11 Comments

Since when has it been acceptable in Fiji for a notorious Deputy DPP who was removed from the top job because of his professional misconduct to contradict the elected Prime Minister? Since a few hours ago when John Rabuku made a fool of Sitiveni Rabuka by saying on Facebook that the PM's plan to hold an inquiry into the "rotten" circumstances … [Read more...] about # WHO IS RUNNING THE NATION? # GEORGE SPEIGHT: THE FIRST PHOTO. AND A PACK OF LIES

Posted on September 22, 2024 38 Comments

This is the first photo of the 2000 rebellion leader, George Speight, after his release from prison as the police issue a statement reassuring the Fijian people about their safety amid widespread fear and apprehension about what happens next. The Coalition government has clearly been stung by community reaction to the freeing of Speight - who … [Read more...] about # GEORGE SPEIGHT: THE FIRST PHOTO. AND A PACK OF LIES

# THE SPEIGHT RELEASE. MORE CAUSE FOR DIVISION

Posted on September 21, 2024 40 Comments

The notion that a process of national healing will be triggered by the release of George Speight, Shane Stevens and the other low-lifes associated with the rape of democracy and the killing of innocent soldiers in 2000 is both a fantasy and shockingly naive. Because public reaction to freeing these murderous thugs is already sparking division along … [Read more...] about # THE SPEIGHT RELEASE. MORE CAUSE FOR DIVISION

# GEORGE SPEIGHT PARDONED AND RELEASED. THE FINAL STRAW. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. IF YOU CAN (UPDATED FRI AM)

Posted on September 19, 2024 76 Comments

So the leader of the 2000 rebellion who stormed the parliament and held the then prime minister, Mahendra Chaudhry, and other MPs hostage for 56 days is a free man, again walking the streets of Suva. So is Shane Stevens, the leader of the 2000 mutiny in the RFMF in which three loyalist soldiers were murdered in cold blood. And in a further … [Read more...] about # GEORGE SPEIGHT PARDONED AND RELEASED. THE FINAL STRAW. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. IF YOU CAN (UPDATED FRI AM)

# A FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD DOWN, PRIME MINISTER (UPDATED THURS AM)

Posted on September 18, 2024 29 Comments

Sitiveni Rabuka has developed a particular talent for distancing himself from any of the Coalition government's successive disasters and "Barbara-gate" - the scandal at FICAC - is no exception. As usual, it is everyone else's fault but his own. "Shock, horror. I had no idea what was going on. Why didn't anyone tell me? Now we're going to have … [Read more...] about # A FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD DOWN, PRIME MINISTER (UPDATED THURS AM)

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
